This place is a hole in the wall near the target in Lake Stevens. Its classic Americanized chinese food. The chicken is fried perfectly with a yummy sticky sauce. We ordered a few items on their menu and everything was a hit. We loved their chow mein and orange chicken. Prices were decent and they had really good service. First of all, I want to pay compliments to the wonderful server that we worked with. Her name is Ping, and they are very lucky to have her help. She is kind, courteous, and very good at her job! Also, although I wish they had more vegetarian options, they were willing to adjust the menu for us. Their lunch special was quite inexpensive! The space itself is not very nice to look at. Fairly clean, but somehow gives the impression that it's not. For example, There are two huge fish tanks, with only a single fish in each tank, floating and looking depressed. The food was... OK. I don't think that I would return unless I happen to be driving past it and very hungry. The brightest spot of the experience was the service and the kindness. Large portions and delicious food. These two things always feel me back in. Didn't care for their wonton soup, it was bland, but the bbq pork fried rice and general tsao chicken did not disappoint. We dined in for our first experience and the service was quick. Restaurant was empty but they had an abundant amount of take out orders. Our first time was sooo good that we decided to have it for dinner a couple nights later. We did take out the second time and got the same entrees. They packed the to go boxes with food, so I was happy at how they loaded us up. I even had enough for left overs the next day. Website advertised they were ready for our "holiday" needs. Ordered take out dinner for 7 for Christmas Eve 3 days in advance. Showed up when I said I would and was told that it would be at least 30 minutes to an hour before my food would be ready. Found out that their "online" reservations did not actually reserve anything for me. They still had to put it "in their system" when I showed up to pick it up, hence the 1 hour delay becaus they were busy. Scheduled it in advance so this would not happen. Cannot express my families disappointment when I didn't show up with Chinese food for Christmas Eve as promised. We've been customers for over 15 years. We hadn't visited since the year began. We came in for lunch and noticed right away that something was up when we didn't recognize any of the staff. There were 2 members of the wait staff and only two tables occupied with customers, so it was confusing that we couldn't get anyone to come by and wait on us periodically during our lunch. - The food was not as good... and the service was TERRIBLE. - Our order was wrong. - We were basically ignored when we needed water, tea, etc. - We had to flag down the server when we needed our bill. - The cleanliness was scary. Came here on Christmas Eve '23 looking for a little requisite Chinese during the season. The hostess and server were very friendly. I had the Hot & Sour soup and Chicken Chow Mein. Hadn't been here for a few years but have lived in Lake Stevens for over 30 years and had many good meals with good service prior to this visit. I dropped in for to go food around 6 on a Friday evening, expecting the food to be great. But it was terrible. Sizzling Rice Soup - The "sizzling rice" was some sort of out of a box rice cracker or biscuit which was bad enough, but it tasted rancid. The ingredients were canned and just warmed up with an indescribable broth. Not at all good. Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings were neither crispy-crunchy nor flavorful. Pot Stickers were not in-house made but store bought, tasteless and not even well prepared but soggy, almost gummy. General Tso's Chicken was store bought and rewarmed with not even enough sauce to flavor the small order of rice I ordered to go with it which looked like it may have been cooked in dirty water. All in all, it was a very disappointing visit. So much so, I am quite unlikely to ever go there again. read more

New owners, so I came in and ordered what I have been ordering for a few years..vegetable chop suey......it was awful and the sauce was as runny as water. so I asked if they had the same cooks and the person I asked said yes. Which had to be a lie as my meal was horrible. But today I decided to give them another chance and ordered Sweet and Sour Prawns and Crab Rangoon. the sweet and sour Prawns came with no sweet and sour source...but luckily I had my own in my frig. the prawns turned out to be way over cooked and eating them was like chewing shoe leather and the crab rangoon was very dry and not moist at all. I don't know why lucky dragon has such low reviews, this place is a lake stevens staple, the appetizer tower is 10/10 , the family meals are always solid, portions are great, sesame chicken or beef is always crispy and great. The food was really good! Liked the orange chicken and noodles and rice. Only thing I would say is the egg roll portion was small. They sell by two pieces for like $4 or $5 dollars I think it was and a bit small. Usually it's like 4 for $5 dollars at restaurants we have gone to. It's so hard to find a decent Chinese restaurant in Snohomish County. We have been here before a few years ago and weren't impressed then, but we wanted to give it a try again. The place is always busy so people must like it. We ordered Twice Cooked Pork, Kung Pao Chicken, Hot and Sour Soup, and Spicy Chicken Wings. The chicken wings were good but not very crispy, nor were they spicy. There was one large hot pepper on the plate but no heat in the flavor. They were very large, though, and tasted good. The soup was very sour indeed, but like the chicken, it lacked in the spicy category and not what we were hoping for. Both the Kung Pao Chicken and Twice Cooked Pork tasted extra salty and were dark as if boiled in soy sauce. I honestly couldn't tell the difference between the two dishes. The pork was the Chinese BBQ pork that you usually see sliced thin and served as an appetizer. Small round chunks, thinly sliced and pink around the edges. Hard to tell what they tasted like because of the saltiness of the dark sauce it was smothered in. Rice is not included with their entrees and must be ordered separately. We ordered a small portion, and it was dry and tasted like it had been sitting in a steam table all day. I really hate to give bad reviews and seldom do, but sadly, this will be our last time here. read more

House special fried rice-same as above, 1 prawn a few beef no chicken. Almond chicken-gross, yellow runny "gravy" on the side. Whatever happened to real gravy, slivered almonds on a bed of lettuce? Oh I miss China Doll! Lastly sweet and sour pork-sauce on the side and gelatinous, huge chunks of pineapple were bigger than pieces of pork. Really disappointed for what I paid and wish I would have not been so generous with the tip. I would not eat here ever again. Staff was friendly and inside looked clean and had a nice ambiance. With that all said we are still looking for are go to Chinese food place. I would rate this equal to maybe Panda Express which is horrible. We wanted an enjoyable meal but did not eat hardly any of it. Maybe some soy sauce and siracha mixed in the chow mein and rice overnight might taste okay tomorrow. Absolutely AMAZING! I've heard great things about this restaurant all the way from California, so I decided to try when I visited Seattle. They did not disappoint!! As a person that eats my mom's home cooked Chinese food, this restaurant definitely lived up to my expectations. Aside from the yummy food, the service was also amazing! I was also able to try a few drinks from the bar, which was made by the employee named Vivian. The drinks were so so delicious and I would 1000% go back to the restaurant when I visit Seattle again. Definitely check out the restaurant when you're in the area. Go get yourself some YUMMY food. I don't think most of these restaurants cook anymore. They are using boxes and packages and reheating precooked product. We tried Terracotta and K- fresh based on the reviews in the Herald and they were okay. This place also got a good review but the reviewer must have had too many Cocktails. So sad to say that I think we have finally had enough with Lucky Dragon. We just ordered a to-go Cashew Chicken entree the other night, and by the time we got home the food had melted through the styrofoam. We had other entrees too and this was the only one that it happened to. My husband called to ask if there was anyway to have it remade as he didn't feel like eating it with styrofoam infusion. Vivian asked for him to bring the box when he came. She then fought him when he got there stating that it was a different entree inside there. Mind you we have been coming here for 10 plus years with my husbands family, and know them well. I know places hurting right now but this was just the last straw for us. read more

This experience was not good and I don't think the restaurant cares as no one even asked how the meal was. The General Tso chicken was deep fried something with a super sweet red glaze over it. It was very sweet but otherwise tasteless. If my eyes were closed I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and the sweet and sour pork, which was also deep fried something in a heavy, red glaze. The pork fried rice was thick and gooey, no discernible flavor, no green peas or any color. The flavor of the rice was just plain salty soy sauce. The egg roll was so so but the best part of the meal. My husband got combo #5 which was supposed to be orange chicken and sweet and sour pork. It also came w pork fried rice and an egg roll. Same comments as my combo meal #6, in fact I couldn't tell the difference between his meal and mine. Both meals were very bland and overly sweet. I took the posted pic right before we left and that's how much I left behind. The meal was about $40 w tip which was really a shame. I had no desire to even bring it home. As we left the parking lot I half jokingly said "let's compare Haggen Foods Chinese food to what we just ate. Guess what. It was 10 times better and 1/4 of the price. It was ridiculous. Haggen has a nice dining area with a gas fireplace, so you don't feel pressured to tip for poor service. The Chinese kitchen at Haggen opens at 4pm, I'd strongly recommend going there instead. We got a combo plate w 2 entrees and chow mein there for $8.99. The Mongolian beef was delicious and the sesame chicken was very good also. Their chow mein was great with lots of fresh veggies and a nice, light flavorful sauce! Next time I want good Chinese in Lake Stevens I'll hit Haggen at 4pm and skip Lucky Dragon. Seriously listen to the reviews on this one! I went giving the benefit of the doubt hoping that people were just being harsh. If anything they're being generous. I hate leaving bad reviews but this place is seriously bad. Got two Combo #5's for $45 which has wonton soup, egg roll, sweet and sour pork, and orange chicken. I couldn't even tell the difference at first of what was pork and what was chicken because they're both fried so much that there's no meat left. They almost tasted like it was all premade and then refried hours later to order. The sauces coating them weren't too bad. The egg roll was perfectly crisp on the outside but unfortunately bland and mushy on the inside. Pork fried rice was bland, rice tasted hard and old. The wonton soup came with one wonton I'm assuming which is frozen. If it wasn't, then it was made days prior and the wrapper almost had a plastic middle. The broth was the best part about dinner... only if it had a green onion in it though. I don't agree with people saying the place is dirty. We sat down and our table was clean and the restaurant is a decent size. Lots of parking. I can usually take down a plate of food that I don't enjoy but I couldn't finish my meal. We didn't even take leftovers! Service was fine. Just another food industry person who wants to go home but the older Asian woman was kind and asked us how our food was.
