Went there to have some dim sum today. Food was just alright. They didn't check vaccination status like they were supposed to. When i asked them why they were not checking vaccination status, they said everyone was regular. That's pretty much a lie because they didn't check me and i have never been there. Low key. Small. Locals' place for dumplings. A little rougher around the edges than, say, Imperial Garden 4 miles north but no different in the quality. That being said, neither are the finest/freshest quality on par w/South San Francisco or Queens, NY or even Ding Tai Fong in Seattle. But, we can always afford Michelin star quality for the latter everyday! Skip the Shanghai steamed dumpling here unless you've never had it before. The skin is thick, the filling is flat and the soup/juice is just salty. If you're still complaining about the bad service at a Chinese restaurant, you need to stop your stupidity and just stick w/Panda Express. Went there due to reviews. Awful and very expensive. Dim Sum was 5.95 for 4 pork su mai that were tepid and dried out. The won ton soup was diluted, no bok choy, just broth ,tasteless with 5 dumplings for 12 dollars. The rest of the food was yuk. Expensive and the place was run down. read more

The food is good tastewise but they force you to tip. Today, one of the ladies hovered over me as I was writing down the tip and stopped me, she wouldn't let me walk past her. She said if we were to come back, we better tip. Also, I've been going here for a while, and we found a piece of plastic in out beef tripe, but they only apologized. If you are looking for the cheapest price - this place is definitely it. You do get a lot of food for your buck in comparison to other Chinese restaurants. If you are looking for the quality and taste, this is not the place. Its not horrible, don't get me wrong, but its also not the best, its like the rating says.... "meh". If you are a clean freak like myself and have OCD when it comes to clean dishes and silverware, this place is DEFINITELY not for you. Wow talk about worst dining experience ever. Being an asian in Southern California I'm super well aware that in authentic/Asian restaurants the service isn't that great so it's EXPECTED that you're not going to be waited on at all times. HOWEVER Before we even sat down the lady was pestering us to order drinks! Can we sit before we start ordering at least? When she sat us at our table there was still dirty plates and cups on it probably from them putting it on our table while helping another table? After we sat down she then again asked us if we were going to order our drinks and food right now. I said no please give us a minute. She then said "okay how about some siu mai?? Steamed bun?? Fried shrimp??" I repeated give us a minute please and then noticed she hadn't even given us menus. She walks away for a good two minutes and then comes back "you guys order? What you order? Water? Tea? Siu mai?" I asked her for a menu and to give us another minute as we hadn't been in the restaurant for more than five minutes. She gave us one menu for five people not even the dimsum menu. So I walked over to the counter to grab some for my table. As were discussing what everyone wanted she came by again and tried putting food on our table but I told her I would call her over when we're ready. So, I write down what everyone is feeling like eating and then I call her over to order our food. Two waters. Everyone else had tea. She then doesn't come back to our table for another ten minutes despite me waving her down. Half of our food didn't arrive and she kept asking us if we wanted more food from the cart. No, ma'am I want the food I ordered ?? Our water never arrived. Our bill arrived before our last two plates which we then just decided it wasn't even worth waiting for (30mins after we ordered it). I will say that the plus side to this establishment is that their food honestly isn't that bad and there's also a jack in the box across the street if you're still hungry. read more

Waited for another 45 minutes and finally asked when my food would be ready. He went back to check and couldn't find the order. He lost the order! Average dim sum place. The steamed dumplings are large, but the skin is too thick. Went here recently for a dinner and had some big price items - lobster with noodles, fried crab, and steamed fish, but nothing to rave about. I felt like it could've been more flavorful and definitely not worth what we were charged. My mom had beef rice noodles that were overly greasy and made me have a stomach ache after... Decently clean. The staff is ok... They didn't really check on us and made weird comments. Overall cheap, convenient dim sum place for locals. However, I would prefer to spend a little extra cash to go to Imperial Garden down in Renton (~10 minutes away) for slightly better quality dim sum. read more

Someone treated me to some fried rice and the house fried rice was the best I ever had in WA. It was fresh, clean and delicious.

Enjoyed everything. My boyfriend and I got the shrimp fried rice and my brother got the sweet and sour chicken. We ordered delivery and it to around 30-40 minutes to arrive. Give or take a few. That's usually the normal time yelp eats takes no matter the restaurant so we weren't complaining. The food was super fresh and in such big portions. The last Chinese food we ordered FROM A DIFFERENT RESTAURANT had a hair in the food and was cold so we were super glad to get such great quality food. We definitely will order again and maybe have to try and go in and eat and see how the costumer service is. read more

Our family likes to have Dim Sum for Thanksgiving. In 2018 our usual place was closed for remodel. We found this place last-minute. It was crowded and we thought there was no way they could accommodate a party of 10. While searching for our 3rd choice venue, Lucky House managed to get our party seated at a table. Tables were cleaned and everything seemed pretty clean to me ! They have all the sauces for dim sum that you need ! They bring you tea and ice water ! Not just one or the other ! Also, when I asked what tea they had the waitress was able to answer right away ! All the waiters are pretty friendly and if you ask for something they get it for you . Also, they refill your water ! And they ask how was your meal ! Trust me I was surprised to get attention from a dim sum place . My other dim sum was jade garden . But I have truly found a place that is way better !!!! With food and service ! The food was fresh and delicious! Since its a small place they make small batches of food from what I noticed ! But I'm fine with that because then everything is fresh ! I love the shu Mai ! It was so big ! And juicy ! I loved it and it comes with four for 3.60 . Can't beat that ! And it's the only place that serves that size for that price . Saw the "Dim Sum" sign as we drove past last week and decided to pop in. They were extremely busy which was a good sign and had a short wait - about 10-minutes They had a menu with a handful of items that we didn't see offered in the carts. I overheard the table next to ours say that it's better when its not so packed. I'm guessing that since it was so busy, they weren't serving everything off their dim sum menu - just the more popular dishes. The dim sum was very tasty and very reasonably priced. A big plus for me was that everything was hot! I've eaten at some dim sum restaurants where the food is lukewarm and rather unappetizing, so I had to mention that. Lucky House is conveniently located close to home and I plan on visiting again in hopes to sample more of their menu. Very happy to have a good dim sum place south of Seattle. read more

Love this place! My first visit there was awesome. If youre craving for dim sum, but you don't want to drive all the way to Chinatown, this place is a great alternative. Apparently the owner of this place is the same owner of the Fortune Seafood restaurant up the hill. Came in on a Monday, so we were the only customers there. The waitress was very nice and served us water and tea right when we sat down. She then suggested what to order since my friend looked like she was confused on what she wanted. Each table had a sign with the dimsum that they offered so we ordered from there. I was surprised when the waitress was able to remember all ~10 orders of dimsum that we wanted. Since it was slow, most all of our orders came out fresh from the kitchen. Stuffed eggplant, stuffed peppers, lotus sticky rice, fried radish cake, steamed pork dumpling, har gow (clear shrimp dumpling), spinach and shrimp dumpling, pork hum bao and fried shrimp ball is what we ordered and all tasted delicious! Not too salty, was still able to add soy sauce and chili paste. The waitress convinced us to get dessert, so we got egg tarts and sesame balls. Yum! For four people the check rounded up to ~$55, plus the tip. We still had to ask for boxes since we had so much food! Each 'plate' costs around $2.50-$4.00, depending on what you order. We visited here for the first time today and we will definitely come back. Prices are comparable to other dim sum places but the portions seem giant comparatively. BBQ pork was outstanding, pork buns were great, fried shrimp dumplings were awesome. I didn't love the shumai, personally, but it was okay. Service was what you'd expect from a dim sum place but we found the ladies bringing the carts to be really friendly and helpful. My husband has a seafood allergy and they were very helpful in pointing out items without. We spent about $33 for 7 plates, one being the kitchen special of BBQ pork for $8. I never expected an order of chop suey to be approximately 1/3 onions. Almost no noodles as chop suey usually has but guess its cheaper to use onions instead. It did take a while for them to bring tea and water; we got food before the tea and water.... Food was surprisingly good, not Vancouver BC good, but good enough to want to come back. We have been waiting months for this place to open. Our beloved Fortune Seafood original owners/chef relocated to this new location and finally, they are up and running. As before, the customer service was excellent and the food was as good as we remember it. Can't wait to try their dim sum! So these were the following dishes we usually order: stinky salty fish and tofu clay pot (deliciously stinky), pea vine garlic stir fry (tender and to perfection), swt and sour pork (good but I got a piece that was just fat), Mongolian beef (kids loved it), deep fried spare ribs and chicken wings (crisp and well seasoned), an eggplant spicy dish (IMO I think the eggplant could've been cooked longer) and a veggie and fish clay pot (everything tasted fresh) We definitely will be back, especially to try their dim sum out. read more

The servers were very welcoming and very attentive to my concerns. I don't eat pork so they made sure to inform me what has pork on their dim sum menu. The menu could have more variety but other then that, dim sum was on point. Everything was so fresh and full of flavor. What impressed me the most was the amount of shrimp in the shrimp salad. 3 stars for dim sum + 1 for clean restrooms n service the dim sum was so n so.. we were the 1st 1s here for the Sat. morning.. we had: (1) siu mai (it was ok; the filling was a bit tough 2 chew on), (2) deep fried shrimp balls (it was good, came w/ a mayo glaze that u would find when u order honey walnut prawns, it was crispy n a little tasty, probly 1 of the 2 plates out of 5 that stood out 2 me), (3) tofu n shrimp puff (the only other plate that stood out w/ smooth tofu n shrimp, they should use the mayo glaze on this 1, as I dipped these on the mayo glaze that I have from the other plate), (4) shrimp stuffed eggplant (the worst eggplant I've had in a Chinese restaurant n anywhere, nasty n lacked flavor) (5) ha gao (was the worst I had b/c the rice wrapper was chewy n thick, shrimp was not moist, a bit tough 2 chew on) 2 hits n 3 misses service was ample, as a guy walked around every 10 secs.! Does it really matter what a restaurant looks like on the exterior? This place looks like a dump on the outside. I think it was an Arby's previously. Dim Sum is legit. Everything we had was good and tasted fresh. They have the dim sum standards here but everything was made with care and not reused or reheated like some other places. The servers try to give you the hard sell on some of the items - "it's GOOD, you TRY IT!" I'm not a dim sum rookie, thanks. I've had everything and know what I like. My gf and I were craving dimsum, and we didn't want to travel far so we decided to try out the new dimsum/Chinese restaurant near my house. Dimsum is served from 10-3pm, and we got there around noon on a weekday so it wasn't too busy. Tbh, I enjoy this place much more than the dimsum inside 99 ranch market in Renton. The food is better in quality and I was very satisfied with the customer service. They consistently checked our teapot and made sure our waters were filled throughout our stay. Little baskets filled with goodies in carts! Dimsum is quick and simple. It is also pretty affordable and tasty. I like this place for now because it's new and clean and the waiters actually went out of their way to make fresh orders for us. I think many dimsum places are tasty because of the MSG of course and it's a bit salty. Shrimp dumplings, Shu Mai, chicken feet, egg tarts....oh dimsum galore! They are super busy on Saturdays and Sundays ... But the workers are very nice and attentive. I also like how this restaurant is small compared to huge dimsum restaurants back in LA. They have a menu with their real dishes and the list seems pretty endless. I will maybe try that one day but for now Lucky House is a nice and easy dimsum fix! read more

I am so glad there is a chinese restaurant close by in Kent. I usually go to the Great Wall but this is much closer! Also authentic, not the americanized chinese food. Also has pretty decent dimsum. All the standard stuff like dumplings, pork buns, sticky rice, chicken feet, etc. On the weekends, they have more selections. Their crispy hong kong style crispy noodles is a fave. get it often. Have tried other dishes and everything is pretty tasty. Haven't had a bad dish yet. I like more salty fish in their rice though, they also don't have "Buddha's Delight" which is a typical vegetarian dish but they do have another stir fry veggie dish anyway. The only thing is if you do take out be careful not to order anything that is "crispy" or fried cause it may get soggy by the time you get home. They cut some openings on the box but still gets a bit soggy. I haven't had any issues with waiting time or service. Everyone has been pretty pleasant and haven't had to wait any crazy amount of time either. Def return. I usually go few times a month anyway for dimsum/lunch/dinner. read more

My wife and I decided to try Lucky House for the 1st time. I had the Almond boneless chicken . This is the 1st time that I've ever had Chinese take out that didn't come with rice. ZERO RICE. The gravy was extremely bland and the amount of gravy wasn't enough for the chicken. Onto the chicken. Over fried. It was like rubber. I took 2 bites and spit it out. That's usually a good sign though because that means food is generally more fresh since they're making it so often. Service isn't the best, but do you really expect much service from a Chinese restaurant? This place is so bad I will start my review by saying you have been warned. On the 1st visit, we stood at the door for almost ten minutes waiting to be seated even though there was seating and staffing to seat us. Once seated, the person behind us started to yell because she was declined a table because they said the table she wanted was too big for her party. To calm her down it appeared that they give her meal free of charge if she took the order to go. We had a simple combo. Soups, rice appetizer and entre. For reasons unknown, it took an hour for the meal to come and they got the order wrong. The soup was good, but the meat was chewy and I questioned the freshness. A lot of apologizing was going on and I assumed that they were just overwhelmed and I would try them again another time. On the next visit, I had the General Tso's lunch. It was terrible. The chicken was not crispy and the skin was on it as well. After a bite I pushed the plate back as the meat appeared to be fatty, ends and pieces instead of the select cuts I expect. When I got my server, he said that is how the dish is always made. No offer to redo the meal or take another item. Any civil person would have not charged, but they did. Based on my previous experience, it's obvious these people have no idea what they are doing and my guess is they won't last long unless there is a dramatic change in how they operate. read more
