Check this out: I went to the free stand-up comedy show that they host here on Wednedays..... and saw Louie C.K. yeah.... THAT Louie C.K. Expecting to have a few drinks and listen to some up and comers... and I am given a 20-minute set from one of my heroes. It was unbelievable. That said, a review: Pretty decent bar, with about 10 beers on tap and some hi-def TVs for sports. The basement is where they host Wednesday Night Comedy at 9pm. Thats definitely the highlight - about 6 or 8 comedians, most of which are pretty damn funny, and they give out free pizza, not too shabby. One of the best nights out in NYC... kool divey spot in the LES. Good bartenders, normal prices for the neighborhood. pretty legit DJ, mixing it with old school and new school, nothing too cheesy. My friends and I have been to Lucky Jacks several times and we have always had a good time. Good drinks, music, bartenders, crowd, etc. There is also a downstairs room which accomidates parties and there is no cost to reserve the room...quite rare. read more

I came here for free comedy on Wednesday at 9 pm. It takes place in a back room all the way at the end of the bar. I thought the comedy was high quality for it being free, and the space was fairly intimate, probably no more than 30 people would fit there comfortably - and we weren't stuffed to the brim like some comedy clubs are wont to do. I'd suggest more comfortable seating that line the wall, they looked deceptively plush but sunk substantially once you sat on them. read more

Alcohol as far as the eye could see, well almost. Continuation of an evening that started not too far away. When we got there we easily found a seat, considering it was around 12:30 on a wednesday morning, ordered alcohol and let the good times commence. Lucky Jack's is the best place to get a drink in the Lower East Side. The bartenders are all nice and the place is very welcoming. I hate the crowds everywhere on the weekends downtown, but this is the place to be when I am in the city. Matt, the Sunday bartender, makes one mean Bloody Mary. read more

The reason why this place gets 5 stars is for their Saturday night DJ. I read a review somewhere that said "DJ can't play a bad song" and nothing truer has ever been stated! He was fantastic! I stopped by here with my girls on a thursday afternoon around 6. The bar was almost empty and so our bartender, Jade was very attentive to us. I actually gave this place an extra star because she was that amazing/funny. Anyways, I ordered Kamikaze and I've got to say its the BEST kamikaze I had in this area. I highly recommend everyone to order kamikaze or the boozy slushie. :) Oh and if you come by at 9pm, they have a free comedy show at the bar. Came here last week for the comedy night "Ghandi is that you". I wasn't pleased. I personally didn't find the comedians funny. I don't think making fun of your audience is funny. After the lack of humor, I was looking forward to the free pizza...which ended up being 2 boxes between what looked like 30 people...and it wasn't the best. I gave this review 1 star for the $6 Stellas, and 1 star for the nice audience members. read more

Came here for a birthday party last night and really enjoyed the atmosphere! They let us have the entire room downstairs, and it was really spacious. I appreciated the couches, coat racks, private bathrooms, and personal bartenders. You can also bring your own music playlist for them to plug in and play. It's an ideal place for a birthday party if you have a large crowd and either want to be able to hear each other while talking or just need a big enough dance floor. love it here. it's near the crossing of rivington & delancy, and even though the intersecting streets were easy to find, the bar itself seems to be in its own separate universe... so if you go, make sure you look for a small neon sign that says "Lucky Jacks". maybe it was the DJ who definitely took song requests like it was your highschool prom. maybe it was the bartenders who made the drinks so delcious the smell of it could've gotten me drunk. or maybe it was the fact that it was my friends birthday. i really don't know. but this place is fantastic. its spacious, its perfect for anyone/everyone. i can't imagine a situation where someone wouldn't enjoy that bar. they have some pool tables in the back, a bar at the entrance, then downstairs a dance floor and i vaguely recall some other places to sit as well as another bar so you don't have to decide if you want to use your energy attempting the stairs or by making out with the guy who only came to use the bathroom. (no, i didn't do that) no trimmings, just the basics. and it's clean, it doesn't smell like dirty pits, the deejay is phenomenal (I don't know if he's in house or just a guest but i expect that their music follows a similar outline) and man, you just do not want to leave! don't feel like you need to get into those tight pants (men & women) or adjust your push up bra and v-neck shirt to achieve massive-what-do-you-have-under-your-shirt, cantaloupes?-clevage. it's so laid back there you'll almost believe your just having a brew at house party....with a shot of sophistication of course. read more

Awesome spot. The bar goes from one street to another, it's probably the longest bar I've ever seen! Very open and comfortable, it wasn't crowded at first, which made for a good time catching up with friends. This was the first bar my friend took me and my boyfriend to that's near his apartment. It was pretty dead when we came in. There's a bar on the right and one pool table near the back part. The following are the elements that made this bar a place I'll return to: - Megatouch. I'm on the top 10 list, and I plan to defend my place there. - There's a bartender with an Irish accent. it seems to be a norm in the city and for some weird reason, it's endearing to me. - Good drinks - and it's nice when the barkeep gives us rounds of shots on the house. - Pool table - only one, but everyone playing was really friendly and no one was hogging the table. Oh wait, ok maybe I hogged the table for a little, but I can't help that I have a good team. ;-) - Music sounded like it was coming from someone's ipod. Even though it's not exactly a dance-friendly type of place, when a good song came on, people had no problem breaking it down next to the pool table. I specifically enjoyed watching this guy dance like Michael Jackson. He was a tall white dude with a beard and wearing a preppy button down shirt and sweater. It was funny, weird, and fucking awesome, all at the same time. I was there with two friends, and by the end of the night I felt like I made another 20. Wanted to rate this bar at 2.5- cheap, dark place, mixed crowd, mediocre dj playing what started out as classic 90s hip hop but turned into bad mixes. Ample space in the back to play pool and hang out but there are plenty of better options. The extra space and beautiful loquacious bartender babes kept me there. read more

A no frills kind of bar; I have been going here for the past 3 years and more on the regular lately thanks to the NBA playoffs, Rangers playoffs, and the World Cup. If you're looking for a place that's 'chic or trendy' then keep it moving. It's one of the most suitable places for me in the area to catch the sports event without having to deal with the overwhelming crowds. Lucky Jack's is cool. Nice vibe, nice people, cool place. But....not to be super cheap... when you are in this location on the LES and you are this close in style, decor, etc. to Boss Tweed's that offers a $5 shot of Jack Daniels and a can of Bud.... $6 a beer and $8 a pour of JD seems high to me. I dig the place and I am sure will end up there...but not before trying to talk my friends into a more reasonably priced haunt. read more

It made me feel old bc the upstairs (for the second birthday party) was JAM packed, but the downstairs (for the first birthday party) was actually just the right amount of crowded.
