I'm very disappointed . . but not surprised. I am always hesitant about ordering anything other than apps, soups and standards for delivery. My experience has been that many places know that a deviation from the menu will probably go unadressed by the customer as they already have the food and fixing a deficiency is more trouble than it's worth . . . Having said this, these were the deficiencies: Hot Chicken Wings: Not a single drumstick in the order, skin rubbery, clearly precooked and not very well finished in the recook; BBQ Spare Ribs: Four pieces advertised, two pieces of good size, other two pieces so small that they added up to less than one piece; Chicken with Garlic Sauce: Where's the chicken? Szechwan Beef: Where's the beef? On both of the above entrees, there was slightly less than two ounces of the protein . . .yes, I actually weighed it . . . . after looking through the container to find it. Steamed rice, crispy noodles, hot mustard, fine. Delivery prompt and accurate, fine. Bottom line, this was a case of promise more and deliver less. I would gladly have paid a couple of dollars more per item to get a good meal. I order the Spring Rolls to go a lot and I am never disappointed. I love the crab rangoon and the teryaki beef is solid. Sushi is a 3/5 for me personally.... I dig that its close and I can order through Grub Hub. Overall a solid place that fits perfectly in this neighborhood. read more

So I used to order from here all the time and never really had any major issues however today will be the last time I will order from them. You normally get what you pay for, it's cheaper Chinese food which I normally don't have an issue with. The orange chicken, sweet and sour, fried rice, etc have all been very good in the past for me. Service on the other hand, I'm pretty disappointed in. Today I ordered a sweet and sour chicken which took over 45 minutes for delivery which is rather long but I'll wait because I'm at work and just needed something. Well when I finally got it, all the chicken was soggy, as it sat for far too long and of the pieces I tried to eat were rubbery and just tasted off. I tried to call them to ask why and see what could be done and I was just met with "oh it wasn't soggy when it came out, its from the steam so that's it" and that was the end of the call. Nothing of like could we remake it for you ( I understand it was delivery but I would have picked it up on my way home at least to get something decent to eat) or we could give you a discount for your troubles. Just nothing of any sort of trouble fix. Just poor customer service and there is better food to be had. read more

have been here quite a few times, since I live a few blocks away. I've found the Chinese dishes I've ordered to be consistently slightly disappointing, though not terrible by any means -- just a little bit greasy and under-flavored -- but in all fairness I'm not a great fan of Chinese food in general, so almost all of it is a little disappointing. I've never been let down by the sushi, though. I get the Milwaukee Summer special for takeout frequently, and it is omgdelicious every time, and ordering individual rolls at a dinner out has not disappointed either. read more

After moving from the West Coast, my boyfriend and I were eager to find a good place for inexpensive sushi. I grew up here and had some bad experiences in the past. But since sushi has become more and more popular I figured there had to be someplace good in Milwaukee. I was right. I love Lucky Liu's for sushi. Even though I'm pretty sure the owners are Chinese and they probably just sell sushi to increase their customer base, the sushi is good. My favorite is the plain and simple spicy salmon roll. There's just something about it. I also love the tuna tataki. Really, all of the sushi tastes fresh including the sashimi and nigiri, where the integrity of the fish is way more important. Also, last week we tried the Chinese food and it too is really good. The quality of the meat is good (you're not going to bite into something shady like some other places). The flavors are just right. My boyfriend had the General Tso's chicken which was awesome. I had the sweet and sour chicken, super fried, but super delicious. Also, their hot and sour soup is some of the best I've had. Basically if you are looking for some cheap sushi or Chinese and you want really friendly service, come to Lucky Liu's. Ordered: Lunch Special: 2 rolls, plus ginger salad and miso soup. Rolls ordered: Spicy Tuna Roll and Tempura Shrimp Roll Service: Service was fast and friendly! (granted there was only one other table) Verdict on food: The miso soup was way to fishy for my liking. Ginger salad was awesome. The rolls were okay- nothing I would go back for- the Spicy Tuna was not spicy at all. Tempura Shrimp roll was decent- the shrimp had just been fried so it was still hot- which is good. The avocado on the roll was a nice added touch. There were about 4 pieces per roll. Price: $8.75 plus tip...good lunch special for sure! My sister in law and I ordered dinner combos from here. I got the Kung Pao Chicken, it was cubed up vegetables, in a tasteless brown sauce and it smelled like chlorine, as if the vegetables were washed in dirty water. My sister had orange chicken, again doused in sauce, just not up to par. We threw away most of the meal. Just disappointed. Would NOT recommend. read more

My girlfriend and I ate here for the first time last week. The General Tso's Chicken and Beef Lo Mein were delicious and we had enough for leftovers later that night! This is the best sushi delivery I've ever had. Admittedly, it's the only delivery sushi I've ever had, so there's not much ground for comparison. The sushi here is good for a combination Chinese-Japanese place, the Chinese food is what they do, and the sushi is pretty good considering it's a Chinese restaurant. The sushi is better than the kind you get in the supermarket, about as good as the other central Milwaukee area sushi places, and a little cheaper. If you're from any place with a larger Japanese or Korean immigrant population, like Seattle, San Francisco, or even Chicago, you're likely to be disappointed, all of the Japanese dishes are a couple notches below authentic. I am a repeat customer because, relatively speaking, in this area, you're not going to do any better. Lucky Liu is welcoming and has couple of Japanese art on the walls. I really like the Japanese masks. You can either dine in or pick up. They also deliver. Luckys serves Japanese and Chinese food. I'm a fan because their Chinese food isn't too greasy compared to other Chinese take out places in downtown. Must tries are the noodles like chicken lo mein! And the hot and sour soup is the booooomb! I think this place makes the best hot and sour soup! The sushi's are good, I love the dragon roll:) the egg foo young was alright, didn't have much flavor. If your an egg foo young type of person go across to wok zone! They make it good. They take forever with delivery even if you are down the street, and the employees continue to have an attitude.

I had carry-out here one of the first weeks it was open. The hot an sour soup needed more spice in my opinion, but my general Tso's chicken was quite tasty. First time, it was very calm lunch hour with co-workers, their servers were some of the RUDEST individuals I have ever come into contact with, the food was however decent. So today I decided to try it a different route - delivery. FAIL!!! 1. I was ASKED by the delivery driver for a tip. If a place is going to charge a delivery fee, they should inform their drivers NOT to SOLICIT tips! 2. My crab ragoon had a very hard, crunchy item IN THE FILLING! I guess the third time is not always a charm... Okay, so it's been raining outside for almost a week now, and freezing and I'm not going to leave my house. It's a thursday, late afternoon, I haven't had lunch yet and I'm craving sushi. I've only ordered chinese from Lucky Liu's and it's been average or bad. I like the Kung Pao Tofu, but I can make it better at home. However, I'm not always in the mood to cook or I don't have the ingredients. The Garlic Tofu was gross and so was the Salt and Pepper (Soggy Battered) Squid which I've ordered from here before. So, today I thought I would give their sushi a shot... people were saying is was decent. But what do people know? I ordered the Ika (squid), Eel, and white tuna sushi. I also ordered a Futo Maki and California Roll. Again, gross or average. Right away I noticed that the white tuna looked yellow and smelled fishy. I had the white tuna at Izumi's a few weeks ago and you wouldn't even recognize them as the same thing... should be white (duh) and not transparent. The squid, which should be smooth with these delicate lines and have a creamy buttery taste, yet a little chewy (in a good way) was NOT how this squid looked or tasted. They used the wrong part of the squid with all these little points on it, basically the type you use in a stir fry, but not sushi. Ugh. Smelled fishy as well. And usually Ika (squid) is always accompanied with a piece of mint... no mint. The eel was okay but nothing to brag about. Everything was also very warm. The seaweed wrap was a bit overpowering as a flavor in the sushi. The rice seemed freshly made however I think they put the fish on the rice while it was too hot. That didn't affect the eel as much but really didn't do anything else justice. The Futo Maki was alright, and the california roll was alright. I've had grocery store sushi that I've enjoyed better. This food was definitely not art, which it should be. Unfortunately we don't have that many choices for sushi delivery in Milwaukee. This was my last time giving Lucky Lui's a chance. Three strikes and you are out LL. I'll just have to curb my craving the next time and wait until I'm actually at a decent Japanese restaurant. read more

I always get the spicy tuna roll and steamed dumplings and they are phenomenal. I have gotten their noodles and they will customize it like you want. Slowest lunchtime delivery ever. I was barely more than a mile away and it took more than an hour for delivery. That plus the fact that the styrofoam holding my kung pao was leaky and ripped, making it a huge mess. I will not be ordering from here again. read more
