The atmosphere was great, with lots of fish-themed décor that really fit the restaurant's vibe. Our server, Christian, did an excellent job! We had quite a few specific questions, and he either knew the answers or took the time to find out for us. He even brought us a side of one of the sauces we were curious about so we could try it before ordering, which was a nice touch. They also had a 2-for-1 drink special. We ordered the margaritas, and for just a $1 upcharge, you could get them strawberry flavored. It was absolutely worth it--they were delicious! We started with the crab cheese dip, and it was amazing. Honestly, I'd go back just for that. I ordered the Boom Boom Shrimp, which was very good, but the fries were the real star of the meal--perfectly crispy. I had originally chosen the baked beans as my side, but after one bite I realized they contained meat. I was just going to set them aside, but Christian noticed right away and immediately offered to replace them. I switched to the garlic green beans, and they were excellent. The person I was dining with ordered the blackened shrimp but didn't really enjoy the seasoning. I tried one as well, and while the blackened flavor wasn't my favorite, the shrimp themselves were cooked perfectly. I also appreciated that the manager was walking around checking on tables and making sure everyone was taken care of. It's always nice to see management being attentive and involved. We were in the area trying to see a movie that turned out to be sold out. We got tickets for a different movie and all of a sudden had some time to kill. We were hungry, and Pinchers was right there calling us. My husband got the fried soft shell crab with fries and green beans. I had never tried soft shell crab but based on this I wouldn't opt for it again. I got the three course dinner special. I started with the crab and corn chowder, which I really enjoyed. For my entree I got fish and chips. These didn't really do it for me, but I did appreciate the generous portion. We capped off the meal with some key lime pie, and this was not life changing but still serviceable. The locale is very lively and fun. Tried this place on a busy Friday night. We sat at the bar. Service was excellent. The bartender came over right away to put paper down as our placemats & promptly served our drinks which were on HH. We ate very light & just grazed. Oysters were ok; they didn't seem to be fresh. HH peel & eat shrimp served cold were nice & plump & they cleaned out the vein! Service and server were very good. Margaritas good. The fish and chips was awful, the fries were the stringy frozen type and were over cooked and dark brown, some actually burnt. The fish was the cheapest fish, wafer thin, maybe tilapia, and not proper batter, again frozen from a big box store type freezer, just breadcrumbs on top of wafer thin fish. Not worth money charged. The server did offer more fries when I told her they were burnt, but couldn't stomach anymore, left most of them. The fish broccoli and coleslaw had absolutely zero flavor i've never seen a trifecta fail so bad. Fish had paprika, salt and pepper. If there was another seasoning, it definitely, yeah, was not standing out. The broccoli was blanched and then tossed in some garlic. So some flavors had garlic in it. Some broccoli had flavor some broccoli was just in a puddle of water from the blanching. I don't even know how they can call it coleslaw. My husband and I ordered their happy hour wing special, we got the teriyaki, and while the flavor was good, they were missing the wow factor, would probably not get those particular wings again. We've been here many times and it's always good food. The atmosphere is comfortable and cool and everyone says the Mahi Mahi is always really good! I ordered Chicken Scampi w/ Angel Hair pasta. It's ok but had a strange taste that I wasn't a fan of. It was like a sour taste and not a yummy garlic butter taste. My food was just ok but hubby loved his. For food, we got: Hot Crab and Cheese Dip, Crab Rangoon and 6 Stone Crab Claws. We were delighted to see Pincher's in Lakewood Ranch. We had lived in Naples and had gone there for years. The ambience is very casual and cute. They rip off sheets of brown paper for the table tops. It is nice to have a clean table top. There are LOT of choices on the menu. They do have the catch of the day, along with their usual choices. You can choose the preparation of the fish. I've eaten at pinchers a billion times. Consistently the food is the same. I'll be honest-- I've only ever ordered shrimp here. Boom boom, peel em and eat em both hot and cold, fried. And every time it's great. There was one time a shrimp looked undercooked or bad and they happily brought me a new one no fuss. I always get baked beans and fresh cut fries.
