I went for a family night out and played three games. This bowling alley had strings on the pins. I felt like I can bowl better without the strings. The employees were not that friendly. The place was very busy but was clean.

Staff was nice enough to accept our Groupon. We didn't know that bowlero had left and lucky strike took over. Food was eh but it is what it is at a bowling alley. Staff and server were very nice and accommodating. We were able to bowl for 2 hours which was plenty of time for 3-4 games depending on who's bowling and how fast.

If you like classic video games, this is the place to come and play…read more The name Neon Retro Arcade is well suited! It's a small place, exceptionally clean and family friendly. Staff alike were very friendly and helpful. We came early evening but do not let my pics fool you- this place gets busy and crowded. It's really light on your wallet too; all you can play for a full hour. (Pay per player) Restrooms available. Parking structure directly across the street. Highly recommended!

Neon Retro Arcade is an Old Town/Old Pasadena must…read more It's a kid friendly hub, but just as fun for adults if not more. Open daily from Noon til 10pm, 7 days a week. Everything is set to free play with a paid admission fee. You can do hourly pay or a set price for all day play. There's probably about 60 different arcade style games ranging in many decades including 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s favorites. Pinball, Mario Kart, Mortal Kombat, Marvel Vs Capcom (my jam), Super Smash Bros, Basketball Pro, Pac Man, NFL Blitz, Rampage (arcade game of my youth), Donkey Kong, Tron, The Simpsons and so many others. Soft drinks, great lighting, a spacious layout. Neon Retro offers cool holiday deals and specials, hosts fun events, IG giveaways and keeps the fun going all year long. It's still only $15 for unlimited hourly play or $25 for a day pass. No food is served here other than snacks (think chips and candy), but so many places closeby to eat before or after your Neon Retro Arcade fun!! It's not a barcade like EightyTwo or Player One so it's alcohol free. They're all welcoming and very personable. I do know they have a capacity limit and weekend tend to be the busiest until around 4 or 5 pm. Nights and weekends are definitely lower in foot traffic, but still great energy. I don't make it over too often, but highly recommend experiencing once or thrice. They just had a cool 50% off hourly prices for Bonus Level Loyalty Club members, and yes it's free to be a member :) Local street (meter), paid lot and garage parking available. Gender-neutral restrooms. Great for groups or just you.

Which was the confusing part since there's another entrance. The gps sent me to the back of the brewery lol. Once we entered we realized that lol. The spot is decorated with lots of videogame merch which was aesthetic. The menu includes seltzers, lagers, & ipa. We tried the lager & seltzer which were both 10/10. There's also snacks such as chips/popcorn. What's pretty fun are the TV's mounted at tables where you can play some of the games. Smash bros to Mario cart. They also have sega games which was pretty cool to see. The staff was friendly and open to questions. The day we went was pretty quiet, I'm hoping to visit with a bigger group so we can play some of their game selection.

It makes the place that much friendlier to be at. Jackie was especially nice. I like that they do the "buy your buddy a beer" and we cashed in on the veterans one. Thanks and cheers to the kind person that bought our drink. Sometimes I like to save it for another veteran but today I was thinking... no you know what.. this one's for me this time. So thank you. Last time I came here, I enjoyed their stout. Today, I enjoyed the El cachorro. Solid Mexican lager. Glad we found our way back here.

The karaoke, bowling, and snacks are priced as expected in places like these. The staff are fairly helpful when refunding points if there's a problem with a game. I think the venue could use some more AC though, as it gets pretty warm inside once everyone is moving around all the time. Shoutout to Jocelyn for making our night this past weekend. She was the only staff member who was actively checking up on my group while we were bowling, and she offered to clean the area for us. She matched the energy of our group when one of my friends was enjoying the radio, and she made everyone laugh.

Fast forward to mid 20s, this place feels pretty ghetto in comparison. Prices have skyrocketed, random kids acting sketchy in the front late at night, smoking, drinking. If you go in the day, it smells like cigarettes anyway and/or passing the Dance Dance Revolution style games, you get a scent of sweat... pretty gross. The food sucks and is overpriced, most of the services are terrible, the machines break and/or get stuck. The claw machines barely grab or feel rigged and they hardly import actual new games from Japan anymore it seems. It just feels dead, like an era long gone. The bowling is absurdly expensive and the bathrooms are kind of run down. The prize store is also pretty bad too. If you really want to play everything here and go all out, you will spend over $100 easily. This place is just not worth visiting anymore unless you're going on a date to win some stuffed animals and want to walk away with a $200 hole in your wallet.

Avoid this store for tournaments…read more I had a confirmed registration through the Bandai app for their tournament, yet when I arrived 10 minutes early, I was turned away. The store had set an early check-in cutoff that was only announced on their private Discord server, with no notification on the Bandai app where players actually registered. As a result, waitlisted players were let in ahead of those of us with confirmed spots, and we were then told to join a waitlist of 40+ people, despite having already secured our registrations. Several other registered players I knew experienced the same problem. Many of them had driven over 45 minutes with the assumption of a secured spot while arriving before the start time. This is a serious problem. If an event is open to the public and registration is handled through the Bandai app, critical information like check-in deadlines should be communicated through that same platform, not buried in a Discord that not all participants know about or have access to. The way this was handled strongly favors locals and regulars who are already in their circle, which is unfair to outside players who followed the proper registration process. I would not recommend supporting this shop.

They host tournaments as well, and have plenty of tables and chairs for casual play. It seems like locals and visitors drop by to check out this spot. The first time we came, we did not receive the best customer service. We were asking for what cards they had available and the person at the counter had short answers and we were ignored no matter how many times we tried to get their attention. The second time we came, it was much friendlier and warm. They shared with us that tournaments for One Piece tournaments happen (at least for now) on Thursdays and Sundays. We are still "shopping" around for an LCS but we will definitely keep them in mind and come to a tournament to check out the community. I like how the shop has an open space feel to it and offer some food and drinks.
