It was fairly slow at the beginning, but as the night went on, the inside of the Shebeen filled up and this spot was bumpin'. They specialize in whiskys (hence their name), so I was ordering old fashioneds left and right. I did also have a gin and tonic or two at the beginning of the evening. The old fashioneds were some of my favourite I've had in Vancouver. You can also order food through the Irish Heather menu. After a few drinks, I needed to put some food in my body so I ordered the curry fries. Wow, wow, wow. I was in saucy fry heaven. I need more of this in my life. Honestly, I'd come back just for this. Our servers (we had two checking in on us throughout the evening), were ROCKSTARS! The pub interior was very reminiscent to the Irish pubs I frequented back in the day, when I spent time on the Emerald Isle: dark wood panelling, humongous selection of liquors and beers and bottles on the mirrored bar back, Guinness decor (posters and tchatchkies) interspersed with relics of various Catholic saints and deities. Wooden tables and chairs. Servers with genuine Irish accents. It felt like the real deal. Oh, and if you're into whiskey, they have one of the most extensive whiskey menus I've seen in Vancouver, by far (I am attaching a photo).
