Ribeye 8.56/10- got it with peppercorn sauce, it was good but it wasn't amazing. The ribeye wasn't as tender as it normally is but it was buttery. I can't really describe it but something was just missing compared to other ribeyes I've had here before. The peppercorn sauce was tasty, but it didn't have that wow factor I was expecting. Crab Cocktail 7.25/10- I liked that they gave pretty big lumps of crab but they put so much lettuce in it which they didn't do before, so they've definitely made the portion smaller. I wish that the cocktail sauce was on the side instead of mixed in because I prefer to control how much I use. The crab itself was fresh but the presentation wasn't as good as usual. Calamari 10/10- this was absolutely perfect! The calamari was so tender and not chewy at all, which is exactly what you want. The breading was crispy and light, and the marinara sauce was delicious. This is consistently one of my favorite appetizers here and they nailed it again. Fries 7.86/10- these were good but honestly I feel like their other sides are better. They were crispy and seasoned well, but nothing special. If you're going to get a side here, I'd definitely recommend trying something else. Hash Brown Potatoes with Gruyere Cheese 9.26/10- these were incredible! The potatoes were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, and the Gruyere cheese was melted perfectly throughout. Such a rich and delicious side that paired amazingly with everything else. French Onion Soup 9.85/10- this was so good! The broth was rich and flavorful with perfectly caramelized onions. The cheese on top was bubbly and golden, and the bread was perfectly toasted. This is comfort food at its finest. Mr Lucky Cocktail 10/10- made with Casamigos Blanco Tequila, a splash of St. Germain Liqueur, fresh squeezed lime juice, and a dash of sea salt, served up. This cocktail was absolutely incredible! The tequila was smooth, the St. Germain added perfect floral sweetness, and the lime and salt balanced everything beautifully. This is my go-to drink here for a reason. Espresso Martini 10/10- this was perfection! The coffee flavor was rich and bold, and it was perfectly balanced with the vodka. Not too sweet but had that perfect coffee kick. It was served at the perfect temperature and had great presentation. Chocolate Cake 9.66/10- this was so decadent and rich! The cake was moist and the chocolate flavor was intense in the best way. Apple Crumble 8.54/10- this was really good! The apples were tender and perfectly spiced, and the crumble topping was crispy and buttery. It was warm and comforting, though not quite as amazing as some of the other desserts. Cheesecake 8.82/10- this was delicious! The cheesecake was creamy and rich with that perfect tangy flavor. The crust was crispy and the texture was spot on. A classic dessert done really well. Overall this place continues to be one of my favorites, even though some dishes weren't quite up to their usual standards tonight. The cocktails and certain dishes like the calamari and hash browns were absolutely incredible as always! I do prefer the Montecito location though as I think the food is better and more consistent. It reminds me more of a New York steakhouse, and they have certain items only at that location like their soufflé which is amazing. Instagram: @hungrytamale

Such a lovely evening! Loved the dining experience at Lucky's! Our waitress was excellent. Great service all around. I can't say enough about the service when it is very hard to find these days. 5 star service!! Another huge plus was that it was not loud at all. The ambience is bright and welcoming versus a dark steakhouse. We had a burger, ribs and salad. The portions are really large. Everything was delicious. I'll be back.

Came hungry, left very happy. Lucky's never misses. PS: My potato couldn't fit in the photo- it had its own ZIP code

Steak night at Lucky's Malibu! Perfect filet, classic sides... we basically cleaned the plate. Came hungry, left very happy. Lucky's never misses. PS: My potato couldn't fit in the photo- it had its own ZIP code. Special thanks to Dominic, who always goes above and beyond for guests.

    I like the embroidered napkins.

I just happened to be in the area when I stumbled upon this restaurant. It was around 6pm on a Friday evening and this place was quite popular. I sat at the bar and Anthony took very good care of me. I had a drink and an appetizer, which was the fried calamari, which is a bit on the bready side, but still crispy and tasty. Anthony suggested the featured dessert which was a slice of cherry pie. This tasted like summer. It was a la mode, of course. This was a nice place to sit and have a drink. I'd love to come back for some steak.

We had dinner at Lucky's tonight. There were six of us and we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and great service. To start we had wine and cocktails, onion rings and the grilled artichoke with drawn butter. Both appetizers were devoured! We also loved the pretzel bread and had to have a second basket. We enjoyed the Onion Soup Gratinee which some of us found a little bit too sweet. Of course we had the Lucky's Salad with shrimp, avocado green beans, and bacon. I love this salad and so did everyone else. We also tried the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach and really liked it. It's definitely a hearty meal! One of us had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and it was very tasty. The special was braised short ribs that were melt -in- your- mouth tender. The burger did not disappoint either. For dessert we had the molten chocolate cake, tiramisu, and the creme brulee. Needless to say, we were full and happy upon our departure. We will definitely be back for the amazing chili too!

Good service, food, ambiance is cozy on the outside patio (fresh). The steak I ordered wasn't as flavorful or tender as I expected (hard to digest). We ordered baked potato with all the fixings and this was good.

We had a wonderful lunch there on September 13th and the whole staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and more than we can finish.

Visited this joint yesterday. It's very unassuming. The staff were great and so was the service. ordered the strip steak w spinach. Was stupid delicious. The bartender, Anthony was really cool. I had an espresso martini so i didn't have to think which was fairly girly ‍ but really great. i'm a fan and i'll definitely come back next time I am in this hood.

Celebrated a friend's birthday here and the service and ambiance were fantastic! We had a group of 9 and all the food came out together and on time! We ordered multiple different steaks at different temperatures and everything was cooked perfectly! The reason Lucky's doesn't get 5 stars and my only real complaint is that although the food was cooked perfectly, the steaks and side dishes were fairly bland. They definitely could've used more seasoning to bring out the flavors. Also, the steaks weren't served as warm as I would've liked. Bringing out 9 orders at the same time is challenging so I'm not totally upset about this as it's understandable. Overall, If they up the seasoning on their food, this place is worth going to!

Lamb Chops and the sautéed Mushrooms was mouth watering.

It's unfortunate that this restaurant is in a corner of a shopping center, super surprised of it all. Came across this spot through Yelp looking for a Birthday Dinner to enjoy and this was GREAT. The ambiance is perfect for a Dinner date. The service is on point and loved all the recommendations. The food came out delicious on top of a good glass of wine. Definitely a spot to check out and cannot wait to come back to get that soufflé on the menu.

    Blackened Salmon
    Tori D.

The food was amazing! I got the blackened salmon and it was fresh and came with a side of lemon wrapped so that your hands don't get messy. We also ordered a side of mashed potatoes which were buttery and well seasoned. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but even the outdoor seating feels classy because it's inside a patio with white tablecloths and an ocean breeze. The service was incredibly polite and it felt like most of the other clients were regulars as the staff seemed to know most people's names and orders. It had a real Cheer's vibe. They also have a decent sized lot for parking and there's a ton of cute boutique shops around so I'd recommend saving some time before or after the meal to walk around and check it out.

However, we were surprised by the pricing for what is essentially a takeout operation: $28 for a steak sandwich, $24 for a chicken sandwich, $24 for a breakfast burrito, $17 for bread and butter, and $9 for a cookie--all with a required 18% gratuity. We hoped the quality of the food would justify the cost, but unfortunately, it did not. After waiting a long time for our order, we finally sat down to eat, only to be very disappointed. * The Fries: These were thick, over-seasoned, and over-fried potato wedges. * The Steak Sandwich: Consisting only of steak and onion, it was incredibly dry and unappealing. * The Burrito: Entirely bland and lacked flavor with eggs and over fried bacon bits and potatoes * The Coffee: Even the iced lattes at the coffee shack were bad - tasted very milky with very little espresso and warm. Our mocha latte was horrible as the chocolate powder was not mixed well, clumpy on the bottom of the cup The meal felt greasy and unhealthy, and despite being hungry, we couldn't even finish half of it. The food was absolutely disgusting. We threw everything in the trash bin. I wouldn't recommend this spot and certainly won't be returning. It felt very much like a one time money grab as no one in our family will be revisiting this place. Even Jack in the Box would be better.

We ordered a variety of cold dishes. The Yellow tail jalapeno was terrific and so refreshing. Highly recommend! Both crispy rice with spicy tuna and wagyu & tuna tacos were good, but nothing to write home about. Nigri Bluefin Toro was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The texture was incredibly tender and buttery. Both salmon and tuna sushi were on point as well. Freshness is key. Their signature Black Cod with Miso was stellar and flavorful. A bit on sweeter side in good way. Unfortunately, they were out of Rock Shrimp Tempura, but had the Cod Tempura instead, which we thought was just okay. We got a variety of meat dishes - Ribeye with Truffle Butter, 16oz Prime New York Strip and 6oz Wagyu. Of course, wagyu was everyone's favorite, followed by ribeye which was tender and delicious. Crispy Brussels Sprouts was underwhelming and lacking presentation. It looked a bit mashed up and overcooked. Roasted cauliflower was a nice side dish to accompany our meal. We ended the evening with desserts and got date cake; and bento box which is dark chocolate cake and matcha ice cream. OMG date cake was surprisingly good! It was gone in seconds soon as it arrived. The elk was cooked perfectly, but needed a more acidic sauce....though tasty, the sauce was a little too sweet, taking away from the elk flavor. The Bison short rib was amazing in this game trip, with the quail, again....cooked well, but not the best flavor. My filet was perfect, and I loved the contrast of the wasabi mashed potatoes. Oh, and sorry...that picture came out blurry. My mom's choice couldn't be made, so the manager and chef accommodated her by altering a dish to something she thoroughly enjoyed. Very cool of them. Our server was attentive, and our water and soda glasses were constantly refilled without being asked. Service was incredible. Definitely a once in awhile/special occasions type place for us normal people...but would happily return

Mother's day brunch was a mess for $800…read more Entrees and service wasn't worth the units. For nearly $100 per person, rib steak that was sous vide to medium, then served nearly well done and completely undersalted is unacceptable for a restaurant asking for this much coin. The steak sandwich was completely reliant on the aoli sauce between the dry ciabatta bread, and again showcasing how underwhelming the steak was by being undersalted. One of our dishes was completely forgotten, and had to be followed up on. Surrounding tables had similar issues. Eggs benedict with smoked salmon was a hit The starter salads / french onion soup and desserts were tasty, with the banana / blueberry bread pudding and tres leches cake being the stars. Avoid this after-thought of a brunch if you can, stick to their dinner menu and enjoy the incredible ambiance that is Saddle Peak Lodge. What a disaster though! For $800, Fogo de Chao, Maestros, Flemmings, even a drive to Alexanders in Pasadena would of been memorable. Shoot, should of just gone to Lure for the 10,000th time, at least it would of offered the same boring consistency. Super disappointed in Saddle Peak Lodge, as my family and I come here 1-2 times a year for dinner. Sadly this experience sums up why their over-all Yelp score is 3.5 stars now, and I'm sadly adding fuel to the fire for what once was one of my favorite restaurants.
