I first tried Gravina about 7~8 years ago with my mother as we were spending the day in Malibu. It was delicious and we had a wonderful time! I later moved to the Camarillo area and I often passed through on the 1 and saw Gravina and I'd always tell my husband we would have to go back, remembering back to the great experience with my mom. Well we finally were able to go back recently and it was just as good as I remembered! The staff are incredibly the friendly, the restaurant was so clean and quiet and they even let us have our small dog on the patio. The food was exquisite! Truly delicious Italian food. I recommend Gravina to anyone who wants a delicious meal with incredible service was a staff that makes you feel like family.

Love this place! From the warm greeting when you walk in, the ambiance, and the delicious food! Best ravioli I've ever had. Pesto is yummy too. Service is also amazing! Our new favorite Italian restaurant!

Love the ambience it's a great place for date night, because very low-key and quiet so that you can carry on conversations without struggling to listen to the other person. We usually go there on a Friday night and the parking lot in the front of the restaurant always has a parking spot which is what we like about this place.. Service is great. The owner comes out and greet you and have conversations with you. The ambience Intimate and warm. The food is great. We come here for the octopus. The eggplant Parmesan is interestingly prepared. The eggplant is sliced, very thinly and is absent of gooey mozzarella not your traditional eggplant Parmesan.

Great service and ambiance! We were seated in the covered patio area and it was perfect! We got to see the lights outside, and we stayed warm inside the restaurant! The service was great overall, and the food was delicious! Everything came out in a timely manner, and everyone got their food around the same time so no one was waiting around! One of our friends started feeling sick after we finished dinner, and the restaurant was very respectful and attentive to our needs and did not try to rush us at all! I will definitely be back here, and all my guests loved the food as well! There is extra parking in the back if you can't find any in front of the restaurant!

I m so happy that we went Gravina for my bday dinner , service was great, owner is very nice , food was so delicious!!!! I m not a pasta person, but they changed my mind, I miss the pasta already, definitely will go back for more Italian food!

I was passing through Malibu and couldn't get into Moonshadows which is one of my go to places with magnificent views. But lucky for me I found Gravina Malibu which had much more appealing atmosphere on a date night. A family owned restaurant with a quaint and charming vibe. The food was amazing! We had the Ossobuco which was sitting on top of risotto,. And the Lasagna dish. The Ossobuco had that perfect balance of flavor and cooked just right. The risotto was smooth and not heavy lumpy tasting. Really magnificent We also tried the Lasagna which was rich and flavorful. Paired this all with a great bottle of IL Bruciato. boom. A perfectly balanced tasting experience for our pallet. And as an added bonus last night, we were seated near Sam Elliott. So you never know who you'll run into at this gem of a place. Great place for a date night or for those wanting to try something else beyond the typical fancy chain type restaurant.

At first, we loved the baked goods of "Scott's Malibu Market" and tried a bunch of different items - sprinkle cookie, chocolate chip cookie, marble loaf and the snickerdoodle cookie. All were amazing! We also enjoyed our breakfast date with the BEC sandwich on brioche and egg platter with sourdough toast. For the food, it is a great place and a nice option for breakfast and lunch, and for a sweet treat! However, the staff is unwelcoming and provides a cold experience! For example, when you are ordering - they act uninterested and impatient with taking an order. Smiles are hard to come by and even worse is the nasty attitude received when we were trying to help a woman with three large bags of food to her car; when my son attempted to retrieve the remaining bag for her - he was yelled at by the owner, Scott. He preceded to tell my son that he should have been told that we were helping the woman; and never apologized for the tone that he took with my son who was only trying to help the woman with a large order. IDK, maybe offer to help the woman to the car...just an idea since it didn't seem to register that it would've been a nice thing for him to do for his customer! As the owner, he should be setting a better example to his staff and to the community that he serves who are local to or visiting Malibu! It's a shame to have been left with such a bad experience; and hope that he and his staff might read this and change how they manage and serve their customers!

It came with a basic side salad, just lettuce and carrot shavings, but it worked, especially with the ginger dressing. Parking was a little tough on a weekend during the summer, but to be expected. We got a spot down the street on PCH and walked there -- all good. We waited in line for about 20 minutes which gave us plenty of time to get a little mini tan AND decide what we wanted by the time we got to the register: grilled swordfish with rice pilaf and salad, fried shrimp plate with fries, a New England clam chowder and 2 iced teas. First, the swordfish -- a delicious fish, barely needed to be seasoned. that said, I asked for it well done and part of the fish was still a bit undercooked. the salad was a BORE. nothing tasty about it -- don't bother - the Italian dressing tasted like cheap bottled dressing from the market. I expected more. the rice pilaf was good but I felt like it had A LOT of butter in it -- not necessary -- the flavor was there without the extra fat. my friend got the fried shrimp and fries and it was ... just .... OK. You tell me how ANYTHING fried is just OK. It doesn't make sense. Shrimp tasted like it had been frozen. I'm not saying it was -- just saying it tasted like it. Oh and my friend got the LAST order of Dungeness Crab and didn't even eat it -- said it gave him the ick. But, in fairness -- it was the last bit of it. Still, the chefs should only want to serve the best and this was not it! The New England clam chowder though = DELICIOUS. it was the fave of everything we ordered. I'd go back, but I'd go on a weekday when they are not so slammed. I bet the food is better and I hate waiting in line for food especially when it's just OK.

The service and hospitality were genuinely wonderful. Unfortunately, the food and beer didn't come close to matching the experience. I started with the Happy Days Honey Blonde Ale, which I understand is one of their most awarded beers. I was pretty surprised by how little flavor it had. It was nearly flavorless and honestly difficult to finish. I'd rather have a Bud Light, which somehow has more flavor. For food, I ordered the MBC Smashburger. It sounded like a winner from the description and looked fantastic when it arrived, but after the first bite, I knew something was off. The meat had virtually no seasoning or flavor. Even a basic amount of salt would have made a huge difference. The burger came with their house-made potato chips, which again looked great, but unfortunately had the exact same problem. They tasted like plain fried potatoes with seemingly no salt or seasoning at all. I don't know if the kitchen was simply having an off day, but overlooking something as fundamental as seasoning, especially salt, is pretty disappointing for food at this price point. There was clearly effort put into the presentation, but presentation only gets you so far when the food itself lacks flavor. Great location, excellent hospitality, and very friendly service, but based on the beer and food I had, there's a lot of room for improvement in the kitchen and brewery.
