    two drinks in a car

No one else has a better mangoñada. No one. I tried to find them one day on a Monday (before learning that they're not open on Mondays), and tried to go to four different places in search of one equally as good but just couldn't. Wasn't even close.

I'm so delighted to see a local mom & pop food truck business centralized in the new Berryessa Capitol Chevron, and I am 100% happy to support them! They just opened up ~8 weeks ago, according to the owner(?) who I was speaking to at the order window. He was incredibly nice in explaining their items to me (they have MORE than just fruits!! who would've known :)) and I enjoyed my fruits w/ lemon & tajin sooo much I even forgot to take a picture of it.... I know, bad yelper, bad! :p In all seriousness, it was a delicious combination of watermelon, canatloupe, honeydew, mango, pineapple, papaya, orange, cucumber, coconut, & jicama. I believe it was $4 for a small container and $6 for a larger container (+$1 if you want all mango), but I think it was totally worth it!! In my future visits I'll definitely just get a few select fruits (you can tell them what you like and don't like), but glad that for my first time I got to taste it all... drooling thinking about the watermelon and tartness w/ the limon & tajin seasoning now, YUM. At this location, they also have licuados, aguas frescas, corn (elots), tamales(?!?say whaaat?!) and tostilocos. How incredible to have such variety from a modest food truck! Please be sure to visit and support their business - I need my fix of fresh fruits!! :)

I am sooo sooo happy I found this place. Lucy has so many selections and the prices are very reasonable. They have a large selection of fruits and they put everything inside without skimping anyone out. They have small and large cups. I always get the doritos(fried chips) and a respado every time I am here. I usually get vanilla, but everyone always tells me to get the coconut. I got it one time and boy it was life changing. I always crave the coconut one! This place is such a gem! I am so glad to have found them.

I have yet to be disappointed in this truck, love their fruits, corn & mangonada at reasonable prices!

Tostilocos! This felt like it was close to two pounds and loaded with yumminess!

The best of the bunch was the dahi batata puri, but it still didn't quite hit the spot. It was definitely on the sweeter side and I felt like the dahi/yogurt wasn't as creamy as I prefer. The chinese bhel was okay, but didn't have much flavor. Lastly the ragda pattice had so much potential. The flavor was there, but it was insanely spicy- even as someone with a med/high spice tolerance. You could feel the burn traveling down to your stomach. All of us found it unbearable and worse of all felt the affects for a day after. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes but after the all the discomfort of the meal- I don't feel inclined to return.

Yesterday, I ordered a Vada Pav, Shalimar Egg Mughlai (on their recommendation from their list of egg dishes), and a Veg Frankie -- and honestly, none of it lived up to the hype(5 stars currently) or price point. Vada Pav: It was okay. The "mirchi" served alongside was literally a raw Thai green chili. Really? At least pan-fry it with some salt and oil to enhance the flavor. For over $10 with taxes, this was already pricier than better Vada Pavs you can get at places like Elco Drive, and yet it offered nothing exceptional. Frankie: This one made me genuinely angry. It was a soggy maida roll stuffed with the same aloo masala from the Vada Pav, plus a few sad shreds of cabbage. That's it. And they had the audacity to charge $12 for it. ($1.50 for cheese, lol I am glad we didn't add)This isn't a Frankie -- it's a lazy repackaged Vada Pav with no flavor or creativity. They threw in some pickled jalapeños on the side, which only added confusion. If you're running a fusion menu(well partially), at least mention it upfront instead of misleading customers. Egg Shalimar Mughlai: At $13, it was passable but still not impressive. The bun on the side was not toasted or anything. Better than the Frankie, but nothing I'd recommend or return for. I was so excited for trying this place but, overall, this place is overpriced, underwhelming, and frankly disappointing. If your Vada Pav and Frankie are practically identical, maybe inform customers before they order both. I wouldn't recommend Maya Kitchen -- save your time, appetite and money and go somewhere else. Thank me later.

Chicken fried rice - 3.5/5, I requested this to be lighter in oil, and that probably took away some of the flavor. I felt it was slightly bland and could've had more flavor. The amount of chicken was also slightly less, I wish there was more. I would ask them to make it spicy, if possible. I've also tried both the Chowmein and the Gobi Manchurian from here at a friend's place and I recommend them. I remember the Gobi Manchurian to be a good balance of spice and sweet and crispy. They also have afternoon lunch combos, where they do momos, fried rice/chowmein and a chicken/gobi/tofu chilli. I missed this last time because I didn't know about it until I went there to pickup :(. So next time!

The flavor was mild, and while the dipping sauce helped, it wasn't anything particularly exciting. Service was fast and efficient, and the food came out hot. It's a food truck, so expect a casual setup--no seating and limited space to stand around. Parking was a little difficult, but that's pretty standard for street food spots. They have interesting dishes with paneer and chicken as well. We ordered two dishes- Leela lasun keema - This dish was intriguing, with cheese, grated egg, and a rich, spicy gravy. The portion size was generous; a single person won't be able to finish it with just three breads. It was very filling, we took back home the leftover and enjoyed it later with some rotis. They have another version of this- "kachu" with runny eggs instead of grated eggs.. well thought option! Volcano egg biryani- The dish is as interesting as its name suggests. The base is an omelette, and the rice is flavorful with bell peppers, finely chopped veggies, and aromatic spices. The center is with a tomato-based curry. The cheese on the side was amazing, and I loved it. The spicy guava drink is super refreshing with a playful mix of spice, salt, sourness, and the sweetness of guava. I really enjoyed it!
