I usually can find good prices for tomatoes, apples, onions, and other basic cooking staples here. That said, you do need to be careful when picking out your food because some items might be getting close to expiration or are going moldy or bad already. So just pick and choose diligently. The shop does get crowded after work and on weekends, so it's best to come during weekdays or earlier mornings if possible. The workers here are always nice. It's well lit inside and they usually have fresh fruits outside the door as well for you to browse before you enter the store. Overall, cool place to shop. It runs from 9 AM to 1 PM and I make sure I'm there almost every week. First stop is always the Beckmann's stall. Their chocolate chip cookies are my favorite especially the double chocolate one. I also love their breads the cheddar jalapeno, seeded sourdough (all time favorite) and sun-dried tomato focaccia and roasted bell pepper ones are amazing too! There's a kombucha stall and the guava flavor is my go-to. And there's this older man who sells honey including actual honeycomb and it tastes so fresh and real. He is really sweet and hardworking and I always end up getting some honey. There's always pleasant live music playing and the whole vibe is just happy. Also, there's a stall that only has apples of all kinds and they have fresh apple juice and that's so refreshing! There's an Indian food stall that I still haven't tried yet. And there's a bakery with lots of croissants and pastries, they're good but I don't usually get them because they're cold and when I reheat them at home they get soft. I do like their cheesecake though. Last time I picked up some handmade soaps from one of the stalls, eucalyptus poppy and lemongrass ones. The smell really lingers in the best way. I also got a body butter and it's nice. There's an Asian guy who sells vegetables and I always buy sweet potatoes from him. They're smaller than the ones at regular stores but they're incredibly sweet! I get like a kilo every single time. And there's a big fruit stall where I try whatever seasonal fruits they have and they give you a lot of samples to try. It's not huge yet so much to explore and it's perfect if you wanna support small businesses and have some yummy food, produce and it's worth going every Saturday!

The open-air market style also allows for individual selections of produce, and considerably less plastic packaging!! Don't forget your reusable bags, but if you do, they sell some and they even offer green, compostable produce bags available for any quantity you are in need of. Foothill Produce is particularly great for discount deals on ripe produce if you are keen on same-day recipes. They also have a large selection of European, Russian, Polish, Middle-Eastern, and Jewish foods (fresh and frozen). That same day night, about a third of the Rainier cherries were already rotten--some had even grown mold. The red cherries were not fresh at all. When I returned today to buy strawberries again, I kindly mentioned the issue. The man at the stand dismissed it outright, claiming the cherries weren't rotten. When I repeated that they were, he sarcastically replied, "You just said it." I had even tipped him during my previous visit! I wasn't asking for a refund--just hoping they'd acknowledge the issue. But this kind of attitude is unacceptable and not how any business, especially a local one, should treat its customers. Frankly, I'm shocked this fruit stand has lasted this long.
