This is not my kind of place. I was the only man in the building. It's seems like a place for ladies to get together and have a nice soup and sandwich with cookies. It sort like a Panera bread with way less testosterone. This place is the epitome of frooh frooh. I happen to be a very heterosexual male that grew up fighting chickens and hunting with coon dogs. I just so happened to stumble upon Ludger's while driving out in south Tulsa. What drew me in was the architecture of the actual building, & I saw that it had a drive through, so why not see what they're offering?? I went through the drive through & the menu was a digital board. Very cool. It fit the swanky aesthetic of the building it was linked to. I was greeted very warmly by Otto, the drive thru attendant, and ordered a $10 chicken salad wrap. While I waited for it to be ready I noticed a cool red stick chandelier inside & the hearing bone wood pattern inside. Very swanky. I could tell the decor inside is something to behold. When I got my wrap the size of it was appealing although I was disappointed that it didn't come with any type of side for $10. None the less, the portion size was nice. When I bit into it, the wrap was..adequate. I was expecting raisins & some type of nuts. But what's more I was expecting some flavor to pop out at me. It wasn't seasoned very well, just a tad would have done a lot for the wrap. Fortunately for me, I was home & grabbed the sweet & spicy sauce from Chic-fila, and added it to my wrap. And what a difference it made. S/O Chic-fila. I would like to go back & give them another chance I really wow me with their food, because of the friendly service & my curiosity of the atmosphere of the inside of the restaurant. read more

Well we are not off to a good start with our $50 birthday cake. The writing on the cake was supposed to be happy 89th, Jim. Instead it reads happy 89th birthday. When I pointed it out, they took the cake back and instead of fixing the error, they added the name Jim to the bottom piece of the cardboard! Are you kidding me, and then explained that to fix it they would have to remove some of the frosting. Well yes if you didn't double check the inscription, and got it wrong, you do need to fix it, but not by simply adding the name on to something that was wrong in the first place. The cardboard box they put the cake in touched the top of the cake. And while we ordered buttercream, it appears the frosting is also wridark chocolate. Wow what is going on with this order? Very disappointed in the response of the bakery clerks, who should've fixed this long before it went out the door. And the result: just ok. A bit dry. Perhaps an off day. I don't know. read more

My husband and I went Ludgers this afternoon to pick up some treats to go. We got a chocolate dipped slice of their Bavarian cream cheese cake, a tiramisu cupcake, and a brownie that was described as "life changing" on the little card. We had never been to Ludgers before and we both have quite the sweet tooth so we were excited. Everything tasted like it had been made several days ago and had been refrigerated and then set out in the display case on a cycle. Nothing tasted fresh at all, and even if they had been fresh the overall quality was lacking. Maybe their main business is made to order special occasion cakes, and maybe those are phenomenal, but we were definitely disappointed in our purchases and will not be returning. read more

Ludger's has time after time impressed us with not only the taste of their cakes, but also the time and effort they put into decorating them. My wife and I purchased our wedding cake, gender reveal cake for our baby, and the cake for our baby shower. That's not to mention the times we just stop in for a cupcake every now and again. The staff are super friendly and incredibly helpful when it comes to designing cakes for any special event. There are quite a few choices in Tulsa for bakeries, but Ludger's is by far the best there is. read more

Perfection! I love getting breakfast here. My favorite is the egg in a nest sandwich. It is made fresh with the perfectly over medium egg. Just runny enough to soak into the bread when they cut it. Soft chewy homemade sourdough bread toasted to perfection, perfectly cooked egg, melty cheese. It comes with either sausage, bacon or ham. I've tried the bacon and the ham, but by far the bacon is the best! Perfectly crispy making it the perfect foil to the soft egg and the toasty bread. Plus I love the little sourdough heart cut out from where they put the egg, they always include it just a little cute cute. Today I got one of the September 2020 specials drinks, The Turkish latte hot. Espresso, cardamom syrup and brown sugar. I never drink anything like that in turkey but they don't know what they're missing cuz it was what's the word of the day, oh yeah perfect! Definitely, a breakfast foodies perfect delight! read more

This is a great concept. The desserts are pretty good. The cake is always superb. But now that they have this large location win a restaurant concept, there are a few things that are difficult to ignore. The food just isn't that great. The employees are all still learning, but expect the customer to know more about the menu and ordering process than they do. Often times, the drive thru is blocked by delivery trucks. I'd love to see more unique options for food since there are a lot of lunch-ish options like this around. I have high hopes for it improving and would love to come back and give a higher rating. read more

Not terrible, but rather so-so. A cake either must be ordered in advance or you can walk in and buy a pre-frozen cake. Even following their instructions the cake still had something of the freezer taste. When that is a cake that I buy for a special occasion, I find myself less than pleased. Ludgers specifically Allison, the owner that says " I'm not arguing with you and will no longer discuss this matter" even when you ask the simplest questions. I take full responsibility for changing the icing design on my daughters wedding cake for one layer a few days before the wedding. The complete screw up of the color of the icing was bizarre. It was even more bizarre that the owner started crying when asked what happened, a tactic just to get off the phone because she couldn't come up with a good answer as to why the mistake happened. The icing color was planned for 6 months or more. The colors were supposed to be white on off white icing. I went to the business and looked at displays and picked from the displays. They sent pearl white on white for icing on the wedding cake. They called the bride the day of the wedding on the day of the wedding to tell her they couldn't find the address. We were told that we weren't charged for the Sunday delivery as a courtesy but we were, it's on the receipt. When Allison was asked about that she still had no answer. The colors being wrong were a serious mistake and all my daughter got was a 50$ gift certificate to spend at ludgers ... Why would we continue to go back? Never in my life have I seen such a screwed up bunch of staff starting with Allison. I was rushed off the phone after she hounded my daughter for me to call her even though she had been given my number and told to call me. This wedding cake was an epic fail. Go to SAMs go to any other bakery because what ludgers does is nothing special. Their customer service is extraordinarily awful and the customer is left with no recourse when it all goes wrong. The old ludgers is gone forever, the cakery was sold to Allison. Ludgers now stands as an embarrassment and we will never give a referral for them. Again I take full responsibility for the last minute change (3 days before wedding) in piping to one layer of the wedding cake. After months of planning, calls and meetings my only daughters wedding cake was ruined and no one at the company gave a crap nor did they apologize. read more

Such a nice coffee house and bakery. Their pastry treats and cookies are good, the Bavarian treats and cake are the best! I find their coffee is better than Starbucks. this is my go to place on this side of town. They have a great menu for breakfast and lunch as well. My friend ordered her wedding cake from here, that's how I had heard of it. It was the best! My husband and I like to pop in when we are out just cruisin. He enjoys the gorilla hug frozen coffee drink, its so tasty, reeces peanut butter cups, coffee, banana, peanut butter!! Can't go wrong in my opinion! I like the cappuccino. I'm a cappuccino girl, Ludgers has one of the best. I also enjoy a good cup of coffee and l like to get the Italian roast, but they have a wonderful selection of flavored and and created coffees!! I stopped into Ludgers to pick up a cake last minute. I was surprised to find that they had a good selection of non-cake items, including some turnovers and cupcakes. The drop-in cake set-up was not what I expected-- they basically have 3 or 4 different sizes of the same classic bavarian cream cake sold in either chocolate or vanilla. So this isn't like Whole Foods where you go in and there's a bunch of different cakes to choose from to grab and go. I am sure the options are more extensive if you order in advance. I went with the chocolate. The decoration on it was simple but tasteful. The cake did come frozen, so it had obviously been made in advance, but you couldn't tell at all. I just stuck it in the fridge for a couple of hours before we ate it. I thought it was delicious! The chocolate bavarian cream was like a silky mousse, and the thin layers of cake had a perfect texture. Overall it was not too sweet and not too chocolate-y. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that my guests were not as into the cake as I was. My husband thought the cream was much too rich and felt like you were eating softened butter. This amazed me because I really thought this was one of the best cakes I've ever had. I guess you can't please everyone! I wish Ludger's were open on Sunday because I am having a hard time finding places for coffee and pastry on Sunday mornings. They could also do a good business by staying open late on weekends as an after-dinner dessert location. read more

My daughter and I tried this bakery recently because I had a craving for a rich chocolate cupcake! Yelp gave them great reviews and for me, it didn't fit the bill. My daughter loved hers, however, I hoped for a bigger cupcake as well as a better quality of cake as well as frosting. These were very similar to getting them from Reasors or Walmart. read more

Starting my reviews today because Ludger's gave me such an incredible experience. They are very professional and affordable. I called and emailed the sample of cake I wanted in the morning and they were able to bake it up within hours! Just like magician, they are absolutely incredible. I ordered a small chocolate birthday cake to serve about 8-10 people and I was surprised at the final price. The custom cake only cost me $25 (which is a steal considering how great everything turned out). The detailed cake looked lovely and it tasted like heaven. Thanks again Ludger's crew! read more

I was hoping this was an actual Bavarian creme filled cake, but it's more like a cheesecake mouse. It has way more creme than cake. I like more cake and less creme. I wasn't that impressed as the bakery was small and any request "special order cakes" have to be called in. The alleged cafe was not really a cafe. Smaller than a donut shop.
