The driver was courteous but he brought me two pieces that I was not supposed to have and did not go with my order at all.... this was a wardrobe from ikea that cost me over 2 Grand and I was putting it together myself.... until I came to a standstill with parts I have no use for and also parts that were missing in order to complete the wardrobe! This app has been great for our interor design company to do same day pick ups from vendors that don't deliver to residences. The guys are usually always on time, follow instructions, and call with issues if there are any...rarely never. If there are issues their customer service people a rmmre easy to deal with and understanding. Only wish they would tell you when they arrive at your puck up and delivery destinations and when they leave. Or if there was a tracking part of the app like uber. This way you know exactly how long and where they are. read more

Wow this is probably the most convenient app to have during moving. I just moved from NY and running around picking up furniture is super stressful. I used them 3 times and had a great experience. We picked up a couch from Z Gallery outlet and they dropped it off at my house 1 hour later. I even had time to grab a bite. So far used it for a bed and an accent chair as well. The bad outweighs the good, by a landslide... Summary of my first (and last) experience w/ Lugg: 1. wardrobe size (50" x 26" x 80") 2. 17 mile delivery 3. ultimately required 4 men 4. TOTAL COST: $658 !!! (this was over 6x the estimate + wardrobe cost 1/3 of that + My entire studio apartment relocation cost a little more than this; how could 1 product cost this?!) 5. TOTAL TIME: 10.5 hours!!! I purchased a wardrobe (50" x 26" x 80") off of Craiglist to be delivered to my new apartment and ordered Lugg for the service. I fully expected the final amount to be approx 3x the estimate that the app originally initiated (open to the possibility that things usually take longer and there may be some unknowns encountered along the way). When the delivery guys almost arrived, they called asking me if my apartment had stairs which I responded, yes. They advised that I order another set of delivery guys to help them get the wardrobe up the stairs. I asked if they could just disassemble the wardrobe and reassemble once they were upstairs to which they responded "Lugg doesn't do that". So I ordered the second set of guys. They arrived and tried to take the wardrobe up the stairs but since it was appearing to be problematic, they decided that they needed to disassemble after all. All 4 men remained (not just the 2) to disassemble, take the pieces upstairs, and reassemble the wardrobe. No information or notices about specific products or structures that would require more time/cost were provided. No advance questions were asked of me regarding my building/unit that may complicate delivery or add cost. No objections were provided when I provided the product details in advance at the time of booking Lugg. False statements of services were provided indicating assembly wasn't an option when ultimately that was the solution. Unreasonable duration of time and associated cost to disassemble/reassemble a single product was how it ended. I worked with Lugg to see if they can work with me on the shocking outcome of their service but they didn't pull through. I can never work with Lugg again after this experience. It's not a sustainable service that I can partake in or recommend. read more

We were then assigned different luggers to come after our chosen moving window, after waiting at my pickup destination for an hour. Our new luggers then spent over 30 minutes stalling in a parking lot after being assigned to us, coming much later than they promised. Throughout this all, it was impossible to contact Lugg. Unsatisfied customer! I'm so disappointed with this company. I bought a sofa at IKEA that didn't fit in my car so I needed a home delivery service. I thought I was contracting TaskRabbit, they subcontracted Lugg for my delivery. I had to put all my info to get a quote and what they ended up charging my credit card after the delivery was nowhere close to what they quoted me. I decided to email them to dispute the charge and have not heard from them yet. I will never do business with them again! Two stars off for LUGG as a company ... had two orders same day, one was nearly 30 miles away and the other was only 4 ... the price charged on the 4 mile trip was only $20 less than the 30 mile trip and double the quote received before placing. LUGG sent two men to carry a 200 pound marble table. I told them they needed a third guy, they didn't listen and proceeded to fall down a flight of stairs with the table. Thankfully, the y weren't hurt. The $650 worth of damage has yet to be repaid and I am having a horrible time getting responses. There is NO live person to speak to, only email communication. I have used Lugg several times. Most recently I tried to have them pick up 2 items. One on the way back from the first. The drivers said they could do it but would have to leave someone at the house setting up. They went to the second location, couldn't call me for payment to the place they were picking up because they didn't have their phone. They were not able to pick up the 2nd item. They still charged me for all the time even though they didn't complete the 2nd pick up. Overall services are way over priced. Use task rabbit instead. read more

I've used Lugg 4 times now around the SF Bay Area for different apartment moves or furniture pickups and it has always been awesome! They always arrive early and bring their own blankets, plastic wrap, dolly, etc. It is certainly on the pricier side but SO convenient for someone who doesn't have a car or someone to help lift heavy furniture. Only thing to beware of: every time they have arrived early and I realized now that they start the clock to charge you when they arrive at the pickup location, not necessarily when you greet them. I've gotten there exactly at the top of the hour (not late) and I got charged for time that was before the hour we agreed on. I don't think this is fair pricing but I accept it for the convenience and high quality service of the movers. read more

This stupid company runs ZERO customer service. I booked a delivery date in a week's advance with 2-6 PM delivery window. Nobody gave me any call that they supposed to call before delivery day. On the delivery day, they randomly called me at 7:30 AM and asked me to show up as they arrived. I was able to get there in 15min and they just disappeared. Hanging my phone and never answer. I have used this company before to deliver an item of furniture a couple miles away and they charged me around 50.00, I used them again a few days ago and they came to my house to pick up a couch to deliver it about 2 miles away. They were in and out of my home in less that 5 minutes. They then delivered the couch to another home. I noticed they were still there after 20 minutes and I called them and no answer. I tried a few times. I called my friend who I sold the couch to and was told that they forced the couch into the door and broke it in like 5 pieces. They tried to charge my Credit card 260.00 260.00 and 25.00. They were not successful in trying to charge me. I then looked up the company on the web and found their insurance policy. I called the number on the insurance certificate of 646-844-9933 for an Abbie Gowen of CoverWallett. Inc which you can see on the Certificate of Liability Insurance. I've used lugg a few times in the past. It was fine. Guys show up with truck, do what's needed and that's it. Expensive for anything besides a single item move but the convenience is worth it. But yesterday, I had the most maddening experience and the customer service reps that helped me during and after what I booked made it 10x worse. It represents the great decline of dependable service that has come with the app based service industry. A few developers get together a decide they can take over a market run by laborers and profit but packaging it in a sleek smartphone app, but the customer pays more and receives less in the process. Yesterday I booked a 2man team with a truck to move me out of my old storage unit and into my new one about 28 miles away. I dedicated part of my Saturday to driving down to Pico and Crenshaw from calabash to get it going. I waited an hour and a half and I didn't hear from anyone so i texted to see if there was a delay or an update. Apparently no one had ever been scheduled to come and they didn't have an eta of when a team would be on their way. They did feel bad an offer me a $10 credit. Gee, thanks. Cost me 3 hours, 50miles round trip and another months rent at both units. I recommend people look elsewhere for dependable service. I have used the company 3 times and EVERY time they have shown up and automatically claim they need an additional crew. That didn't seem the make sense to me when I provided dimensions and weight prior to the delivery each time. After the 3rd time I realized that this is their pattern for them and clearly a way to charge double and take advantage of their customers. Each time I felt like I had no other option but to pay what they charged because at the point of delivery, I was stuck. This company is good and bad. The men that come to perform the work are cordial and hard working. The company that runs the app are bait and switch. We received a quote of $115 and $1.75 a minute for the movers. The disposal destination auto populated. Long story short disposal site would not take it so they had to go somewhere else. My Lugg driver 5 STARS HE WAS AWESOME. This low review is not a reflection of my driver, it is a review regarding the app itself. Had to have something taken to my place I had the pick up from store set to 7-8 pm from there to my house was 25 minutes. They arrived early and started charging it as "labor at destination" before I even spoke to my driver. My driver picked up my item at around 6:30 pm. I was under the impression they would pick it up at 7. Definitely shaved off a solid $10-15 I honestly feel I shouldn't have been charged. I only used the app due to the discount I had through Homegoods and the thankful convenience of it. To move my item which I could have carried but I couldn't have fit in my car $36 was kind of pricey, mind you this was with a 35% discount.... so pricing is pretty up there. The text updates were on point and well managed, I just wish I would have been charged what I was told I was going to be charged. I would have given it a second thought for the price. I could have gotten a rental car for the day... would have been cheaper. There is no way that I can see on the app to adjust any of the pricing or info. The guy who moved my stuff was nice and very helpful, despite the whole charging for labor when I literally had called and told him I was on my way over there. I don't know if it is an automatic thing or if it is something the driver puts. I really did like my Lugg driver despite that, still my original estimate cost was a decent amount cheaper than what I ended up paying, which sucked. I don't think I'll ever use this app again. Would not recommend - 1/5 stars Lugg came highly recommended from a friend in the Bay Area. She said they were efficient, organized and affordable! My experience was quite the opposite. We had a total of 9 items - 2 mattress, 2 box springs, 2 night stands, 1 shelving unit, 1 bbq and 1 dresser. The gentlemen took 4 hours to move these items into the truck and drive 1 mile down the street. I had to help them carry stuff to the car and unload stuff out of the truck because I was so fed up with how long they were taking. They took several 'breaks' and spent far too long deciding how they were going to pick up or arrange some of the lighter items. I was shocked when I had to tell them how to organize the truck to make it all fit. They seemed like they were dragging there feet and walking slow and just hanging out at the truck. While I understand they might be new to this and could have just met earlier that morning, it was not the experience I was hoping for or would recommend to anyone. I had to use my own personal blankets and tape to wrap the items because they weren't wrapping anything with moving blankets and they were not giving me the impression that they would do a thorough job. I felt extremely frustrated watching it all unfold and wish I hired professional movers from other reputable companies because they would have been done in half the time for the expensive price I payed. I understand that I might have had the worst luck here, but first impressions are everything in a new business like Lugg. I used these people to pickup from the store, and deliver: a very expensive leather bound chair. Their ad says that they move "furniture." They are not professional movers, They're kids with a truck. By the time I had my chair delivered it was full of scratches, some permanent, and it had some damages. Because the store didn't deliver it, I had no recourse. It was my fault as well. I thought they would have at least padded it before they handled it. Instead it looked like they threw it around like a cardboard box. They charged me 55% more than the high end of the initial quote, which really wasn't cool. I did complain to customer service and they refunded me the difference, so I just had to pay the highest estimated price. I do appreciate that they were willing to make this right, especially since this pickup was for a women's and children's shelter and budgets are tight. However, if they cannot give more accurate estimates, then I cannot recommend them. I can see being off by 10% or even 20%, but 55% over is a wide margin or error and has a substantial impact on the bill. read more

This is the absolute worst moving ever. First they were late. Then they took 3 hours to figure out they can't do the job and required more men. Then when they got the ceramic pot to my house they dropped it and broke it, in my door way. Broke the door frame. The most horrendous part is they charged me a dollar a minute to clean it up!!!!!! They offered me a refund of 75 dollars(because this is what my aunt was thinking of selling them for before my mom told her not to! Because we paid way more for them!!) for a 525.00 planter plus plant plus the broken door. And will not provide me with their insurance. I gave them the receipts. Maybe they don't have it?!
