A buddy and I came here on opening night to try this place out and were pleasantly surprised by the decor, speed of service and quality of the food. It was a solid opening and we got a chance to talk with the owner a bit about the food and his plans for the restaurant. You can tell he's a very engaged and passionate owner, and that shows in the quality and flavor of the food they put out. A couple of weeks later I went back and had my parents with me this time. We all ordered different dishes and all three were amazing! The layers of flavor in the Spicy Pesto Pasta dish in particular were beautiful. The owner specially prepared the Chicken Piccata for me since I like big, bold flavors and it was hands down the best I've ever had. The Alfredo sauce they make is unique and wonderfully light on the tongue. Very addictive sauce! All three of our plates were clean by the time we finished - a rare event for us. I've been looking for a really good Italian restaurant in the area that I'm proud to recommend to others and Luigi's has absolutely made it on the list. This was then first time here. My girlfriend and I came here for her birthday. Both of us had the steak and pasta. I had the 8oz. and a salad with the house dressing. My girlfriend had the smaller steak with the garden salad. My food was excellent with the steak cooked "medium rare". Tender and juicy. Her steak was a little too cooked although she had ordered hers "medium well". It was well. (She didn't complain). The pasta was served with a very good red sauce and bread was fresh and tasty. The only thing that I would have to complain about it that on the Yelp app it has an offer for free pizza bread when you check in but when I tried to use it they said that they quit doing that promotion in March, but yet the offer is still on the app and they said they didn't know how to take it off. read more

Atmosphere is quiet and provides a private dining experience. Service is outstanding and food is delicious. I had rigatoni with meat sauce...rich flavorful sauce and pasta cooked to perfection. Bread sticks throughout the appetizers and meal. I will definitely be returning. Owner visited our table...really nice and personable. OUTSTANDING dining experience. Stopped in with friends on Sat night and they were really busy but able to get a table in about 10 minutes. The free breadsticks are great and they keep coming - alfredo & marinara sauces are outstanding. Spicy pesto pasta was delish, friends had spaghetti & meatballs and a pizza. **Review Update** Following my initial review and rating of 1 star on 12/19/2015 (original review is below), owner Jorge Chavira immediately responded with the comment below. We appreciate the response and are glad that he took the time to further clarify the gift certificate policy. We understand that there was a misunderstanding with the policy when we visited. We have used remaining credit from gift certificates/giftcards for tips at numerous restaurants in OKC and all across the US for years without any issue. That is why we were caught a little off guard when we spoke with George and learned that Luigi's policy was a little different. It was unfortunate that the misunderstanding made us feel that our gesture of generosity to the waitress (who was fantastic by the way) would have never been realized had we not inquired. We always leave good tips and intended to leave an extra large tip in this situation. Had the policy been communicated better to us at the time, we would have gladly used cash to tip the waitress and taken the remainder of our credit to visit again on another day. We appreciate the owner's response and feel that the steps outlined in his comment below will help to communicate Luigi's gift certificate policy more effectively to customers in the future. Since the owner took the time to immediately respond to my review and address my concern, I have upgraded my initial review of 1 star to 3 stars. In the event we have the opportunity to eat at Luigi's in the future, I will provide another update to this review. Original Review The food was comparable to other Italian eateries in the OKC metro. The food was good but it was nothing special. BEWARE if paying by Luigi's gift certificate. We had a $50 gift certificate to pay for our meal. Our bill was a little over $30 and we planned on leaving the remainder of the credit on the gift certificate as a tip. When we inquired with the owner to make sure the waitress would in fact receive the generous tip, the owner said no. The owner also said that any remaining value left on the gift certificate would forfeited if the total amount issued on the certificate is not used. There was nothing on the gift certificate that indicated we would forfeit value if it was not all used at once. Had we not inquired with the owner about the tip, the poor waitress would have thought we stiffed her and the owner would have pocketed the remainder of the credit on our gift certificate! The owner said that "he couldn't just take money out of the cash register to give to the waitress" and then muttered something about having to pay for a merchant fee since the gift certificate was purchased with a credit card. Really, merchant fees? All businesses are subject to credit card merchant fees. That is the price of doing business! We can't speak for other folks, but we certainly didn't feel like the remaining credit on our gift certificates should have been forfeited to the restaurant. Technically, wouldn't the credit remaining on the gift certificate be the property of who bought them in the first place or the current holder? If we had known the gift certificate policy in advance, perhaps if the policy was written on the gift certificate itself, we would have not had as much of an issue. The one consolation was that the owner agreed to "take care of it" this time, but it was not in his policy. Regardless, the whole ordeal felt pretty shady so we won't be returning to this establishment. read more

One of the best Italian restaurants in OK! We came out here to go to Alfredo's, but the wait was ridiculous so we wandered over. The place was nearly empty which made me nervous...but we were all pleasantly surprised by this gem! The alfredo sauce and the tomato meat sauce is amazing! And they give you a little of each with the breadsticks. I had the chicken Marsala and it was phenomenal! Good quality meat, the sauce was spot on, and the side of asparagus that came with it was cooked and seasoned perfectly! My sister had the pesto and said it was excellent! Husband had the Luigis panini and was impressed! Kids had spaghetti and meatballs and didn't hear any complaints from them. We had the tiramisu for dessert...the best I've ever had! Yelp reviews range from poor to excellent, we went for the first time tonight after my husband kept hearing it advertised on the radio Sports Animal. We ordered pepperoni pizza. The complimentary breadsticks that came out were soft & served with both sweet marinara & yummy alfredo sauces. The pizza had lots of cheese & the crust was good. We tried dessert-chocolate cake & a piece of italian cream cake, both were good & large enough to share. Our individual ratings ranged from 5 - 10. Service was excellent, always topping off drinks & checking on the table. I couldn't find fault in anything. Others in our party suggested the pizza could use more sauce on the crust. We'll go back. Had dinner with the wife, niece, & her boyfriend. Everyone's entrees were excellent. We split the Spicy Pasta Pesto with shrimp...it was awesome and the right amount for the two of us! We ordered the Italian nachos for an appetizer...they also were great! We got both the chicken and sausage. We went here for my husbands I passed my Pt test dinner as a treat on a Tuesday. The place was mostly empty but it was a Tuesday so I didn't expect a huge crowd. We got the brucetta to start with and the balsamic that they poured over the bread turned me off let alone you couldn't really see any basil let alone taste it. The bread sticks with dipping sauces left a lot to be desired the Alfredo from Olive Garden is heads above this. Next I got the chicken parmigiana when we finally got out good I had very little cheese and about a gallon of red sauce drowning my chicken I know looks can be deceiving so I dove in hoping it would be better after 1 bit I pushed my plate away the waitress came to ask I said it was gross and didn't want anything else so she took it away. The owner came over and talked to me I told him I had lived in Italy and this was not Italian and explained how there was no cheese and drowning in meat. He soda he would take it off the ticket and offered another meal on him at a later time to try and make it up to me. He also explained the long wait time was because a steak we had ordered was over cooked and he had them refire it. The pasta was extremely overcooked, the italian nachos were terrible and made with very stale tortilla strips. I was advised that the alfredo sauce would be out of this world...not so much. I rarely eat Italian out because I don't like the chains, but this locally owned family restaurant is an exception! The tiramisu is sooo good. My girlfriend and I wanted to try something new for dinner tonight and we had both seen the sign for Luigi's multiple times and thought we might try it. Door said they opened at 3:00 pm, we arrived at 4:30 pm to a locked door. When we were finally let in we were greeted with "I can't seat you yet" so we sat and waited for a few minutes. We were seated and instantly both felt very uncomfortable. There was just a weird vibe hard to explain. For whatever reason they decided to light a candle which did nothing. It is already very bright in there and the mood was not set at all. The waiter started us off with bread sticks which remind me of the frozen ones my mother gets from Walmart. We then proceeded to order, we both got what we thought would be a Cesar salad. We were very wrong. The dressing was a type of vinegar based dressing. The croutons, once again remind me of something my mother gets from Walmart. The waiter took my plate and also my fork leaving me forkless for my entree. Did not get another fork until my entree came. The food was a relief it was actually pretty good. I got the chicken piccatto. Customer service was not terrible other than the fact none of the employees could speak more than ten words of English. Manager was very friendly and made sure we were fine. In conclusion I will not be going back, I would rather go down the street to olivetto. read more
