I've ordered from here multiple times and they always have great food and service. Today 11/23/24 whoever's working is doing a really crappy job. I'm not judging the delivery guy, I get the cheese might slip especially if you have to carry it a few flight of stairs (usually they call for me walk down, so I appreciate it) but this is not the normal veggie pizza I always order. They wings are great. They are big and the store lets you customize. (I detest dry hard meat and I'm not sure why people like hard burnt wings) I also had the pizza for the first time last night and it was nothing special. I'm not sure why people are raving in their reviews: OH ITS THE GREATEST PIZZA IN THE ELKINS PARK/JENKINTOWN AREA!!! Being the best pizza in this area is not saying much. It was meidorce. I have been a loyal customer since day one. I realize prices go up but a 10.5% price increase just now? (inflation is 4%) And you still charge a 4% credit card surcharge, I would have been OK with this increase if you got rid of the CC surcharge. This review isn't for the food, but rather for the service. We ordered online and the email sent out said 25 minutes. When we arrive a half hour later, the manager with glasses and short blond hair huffed at us that our order would be at least an hour. When we asked why the email said 25 minutes, she huffed again and shrugged her shoulders. No apology, no explanation, no signal she understood our frustration after having driven over only to be told our food would be far longer than originally said. The worst part is that her harsh treatment wasn't reserved for her customers, we also observed her verbally berating her young, sweet staff in front of customers. Our family loves Luigi's pizza! It's New York style pizza with a thin yet foldable crust, delicious sauce and lots of cheese. My favorite topping is pepperoni -- traditional thin, crispy slices. I've never had a pizza from them that is dry or rubbery. Love having the ability to order online. Solid NY style thin crust pizza establishment. They make a delicious white pizza pie but adding on toppings can get a little expensive (but worth it)!!! They run a great lunch special of 2 slices and a drink for $4.75. Although their fresh ingredients/toppings are outstanding, what gets me the most is simply their crust! My father and I ate there around 5p on Sunday, April 17th. We ordered and split a mushroom cheesesteak and a margherita pizza with black olives and mushrooms. The total came to about $30, which included my soda. I noticed that there was a sign from the owners (this place is new) stating that they will no longer accept coupons due "to rising costs in food prices". Wow, I knew I was in for a treat! We sat down and the young lady brought us the cheesesteak. The sandwich was pretty good however, they were very sparse with the meat. The price of this was $5.25 plus .50 for the mushrooms plus .25 = $6.00. I'm surprised they charged for fried onions since the 1,000 other places I've visited never do. On to the pizza review.... I have to say that this was the WORST pizza I've ever had in my life. They advertise they have the Best Pizza in Elkins Park but it could be in the running for the worst of the Philadelphia Metro area! The margherita pizza by design, is supposed to have fresh basil and mozzarella. I really doubt fresh ingredients were used as I've had many good margherita pizzas before. The pizza was not done well enough as globs of hot piping sauce (I suppose it was canned stewed tomatoes) and cheese slid off to make the eating experience even worse. The pizza was devoid of flavor. I'm not sure if the past reviewers came on a good night when they could make an acceptable pizza, but it makes me wonder if they are friends and family of coworkers and owners. The male workers seemed more interested in having mundane conversation with each other than making good quality pizza. They never asked us if we enjoyed our food. Wait, I thought new businesses (and good existing businesses) should do this? Hmm, guess they don't want to stay in business too long. I just baked a Kashi pizza that tasted 10X better than the one I had Sunday afternoon. I saved about $10 too (Margherita Pizza is a whopping $15.50). So I live literally next door to this disgusting place, my husband ordered me a cheesesteak and a few other things. we spent about $30.00 on food from their the other night , and inside of my chessesteak was a top to a soda can if you ask me it was purposely done .. so I called the manager he acted as though he was sorry and really concerned he told me that he would give me a refund that he would send the driver back to me to drop the refund off, and for me to send a picture of my sandwich to him which I did right away, long story short I never got the refund also found out he gave me the wrong number . I didn't notice, but it overcharged me $3.00. The next day I received a text from Lou, identifying himself as the owner, and stating he was sending a $3.00 refund my way. Usually great food and service until today. Went today and was treated rudely. Immediately upon entering was stared at by the entire staff. Was not asked name for pick up but just continued to be stared at. Ordered a half pep pizza and got all pep. I let this slide as this could of been an honest mistake. This has been my go to pizza place for the last couple years. That is why the service I received tonight was so stunningly disappointing. I was told it would be a 35 minute wait for my order, which is reasonable on a busy Friday night. I called at 5:33pm and arrived early, having my card swiped at the Covid friendly takeout window at 6:04pm. The woman I dealt with at the counter was clearly flustered, and very busy, but did not provide any estimate on an additional wait before walking away. Only that it would be 'a while'. With no further discussion and the understanding that food would soon be on its way I stood and waited along with everyone else. A freeze warning is in effect this evening, and I was wearing a sweatshirt which was enough for a few minutes wait. Turns out it wasn't enough to keep me warm for a further 32 minutes. I was given no update, no apology, no explanation. Eventually, at 6:34pm, I asked if perhaps they had simply forgotten about my order or if I had missed my name being called. I was informed very curtly that they hadn't and I hadn't, and that my order was just one of many they were working on. Fortuitously, 2 minutes after that I was given my pizza. Success! Or it would have been. After I got home at 6:48pm I resignedly sat down to warm my frozen body with my hard won pizza. Except the Chicken parm pizza, very extremely obviously, had terribly burned chicken. They are in the image attached. I thought that perhaps they were just slightly burned and that it was a darker seasoning. I took a small piece and confirmed that it did indeed taste like ashes in my mouth, which was a fair analogy for the entire experience until this point. I called and asked if they could please prepare another pizza of the same type to replace my badly burnt pizza. The young woman I spoke with was very helpful, and offered a $10 coupon for my next purchase. I explained that I wouldn't be able to eat my current pizza, and why. She had to put me on hold once more, but agreed they would be able to make a replacement pizza. I returned to the store. 7:00pm I am back at Luigi's Pizzarama, where the woman at the window promptly walks away upon my return for several minutes, then returns huffily to hand me $22 and explain "I don't know what was wrong with your pizza, but here." I tell her what was wrong with my pizza and attempt to parlay the conversation into a discussion about my option for a replacement pizza rather than a refund, since a refund doesn't help me feed my wife or 2 year old daughter, but she clarifies that there would be no need for an explanation because "I didn't cook it". With a half step back, obviously prepared to retreat from what I think she must have imagined to be an epic confrontation, I see the writing on the wall and turn to simply leave. I arrive home at 7:25pm, nearly 2 hours after ordering my pizza. Only now I have less gas, no pizza, and less of my life remaining to contemplate why anyone would ever allow such poor treatment at the window of their establishment. I have every single facet of this story documentable with timestamps as well! The joys of being a project manager by trade. TL:DR - Delicious pizza! But you better pray that literally everything goes exactly as planned, or you are in for a very bad night. read more

This is my second review for this place; the first was for their excellent phone manners. This one is for their salads and cheese steaks. I love their salads; very fresh, large portions, and just really well put together. I am a meat lover, so reviewing salads is not what I do usually, but I had to write in about these salads. Cheese steaks this close to Philly are never going to make everyone happy. Just too much history and taste preferences. But this is what *I* like about Luigi's steaks - great bread that soaks up the juices, lots of meat chopped up with onions on the grill, delivered piping hot. You like your steaks that way, you'll like Luigi's. All delivered within the promised time. These guys are consistent, have been for the year or so that I have bought their wares. read more
