It was good, but I don't think the value matches. I ordered a medium chicken bacon ranch pizza and 12 garlic knots. The medium pie was more like a personal pie as it came with 6 small slices...not even regular sized slices. A but it a rip off honestly. I wish I lived closer to Luigi's, it seems to be a good neighborhood pizzeria. I received a great coupon in the mail so I decided why not, if it's bad it wouldn't be a huge loss. Last time I went to a place for a coupon, it was terrible so I had low expectations. And Luigi's exceeded it. I loved the online platform and the ability to add coupons on there. The pizza was really good. I don't know why some would say it wasn't flavorful, it certainly was. If they keep mailing me these coupons, I'm sure to be a frequent flyer. Once entering, I was pleased to be welcomed with a clean and organized dining area and simple decor. The dining area is of a reasonable size. My family and I ordered: - linguini with red clam sauce - penne a la vodka - salad pizza - 2 Sicilian slices - 1 mushroom & sausage slice Not quite sure why there were bad reviews. Though, this was our first time, my family and I had a great experience here. When I had the free time to eat it I had to heat it up and found no alfredo sauce which is not an issue as I have a jar here, but had to drain over 40ml of oil from the penne. No question this location has gone through changes over the last 26 years I've been in the area (I remember when we called it Anthony's.). Is it hands-down the best pizza in East Setauket? No, as there are plenty of other solid choices. Do they have their share of bad days? Yes. Luigi's is our go to spot for an after school slice with the kids. Their favorite is the macaroni and cheese slice. I really enjoy sitting there and eating a slice compared to take out. I feel the slices are much larger and cooked better. Some of my go to slices are the plain, BBQ chicken, chicken bacon ranch, and Caesar salad slice. I have never really liked Luigis and have found the crust like cardboard but I thought I would give it a shot as the other pizzeria was closed down. I ordered a Margherita Pizza which is my favorite and to me what I like best are the small bits of fresh mozzarella and sauce with basil. However, what I got from them was not that at all. It was awful. covered in the thick yellowy cheese and covered all over in fresh tomatoes and no sauce and dried basil not the fresh I am accustomed to. What a waste of money. It cost extra and no one wanted to eat it. I called to tell them and the young girl was apologetic and offered to let me speak a manager. I said ok and waited and waited and waited...and gave up.
