Great food and great service, a bit hidden in the medical center but worth it!! Beats the Kennestone bistro by a mile.

We actually came here for happy hour but found out only there was only specials on the apps. First we say at the bar, the bartender was awesome!! The margaritas def good. Ordered the crab and 3 cheese dip, it came out hot and had a good chip to dip ratio. On the other hand we felt it was lacking crab and some seasoning but it def had all the cheeses. But dessert made up for the app. Ordered the flaming pineapple butter cake, and yes it tastes as good as it sounds!! The bartender flambé it when it came out and that was a great presentation. The cake hands down was the best thing we had. So moist, rich over all delicious !!

There was hardly anything under $10 except for a bowl of soup or small salad. Most entrees started at $25! It's not polite to complain when you are with a friend so I demured and settled for empanadas (4) for $13.99! So disappointed. And they were fried and had hardly any meat to speak of! My friend had a pineapple bowl filled with something with chicken. For $26? Drinks, non alcoholic start at $4. It was surprising that a group of high schoolers came in after us. Must come from money. The best part of our lunch was our server. She was very sweet and attentive. Maybe restaurants are just not for me anymore.

The food has great flavor in the portion sizes are good. Service is quick and friendly. Occasionally I will get a singular large arepa, but it's hard to pass up the sampler which has four different ones. I'm really keen on the Reina Pepiada and the Domino. Both of these come on the sampler with a steak and catira grilled. You can't sit and eat in the restaurant, it is clean and has tables, but I usually take mine to go. Sometimes I don't make it past the parking lot though before digging in lol.

The sancocho with white rice - chefs kiss! The sancocho definitely had two servings worth. We also tried the sampler (1 empanada, 1 tequeno, 4 different arepas) and also a tostones dish topped with chicken, cheese, cilantro - wow! Everything was great! The bean and platano arepa was my favorite and I can't wait to go back for more. I would love to try their other dishes. We visited the kennesaw location conveniently located off of Cherokee next door to a shell gas station. Great customer service! We were instantly greeted by a sweet woman behind the counter. We did not dine in on this visit but I bet the food is even better if you dine in (as it would be fresh and hot off the stove). I can't wait to go back!

Despite it being a…read morebit farther than our typical distance threshold, we decided to take our son and my in-laws out for a good Cuban lunch last weekend, and thankfully it did not disappoint. As a first generation Cuban-American born and raised in Miami and married to a Cuban man, I am happy to report that Cuban Diner is the real deal. This is authentic Cuban food that is as good as the Cuban food easily found all over Miami. We started with croquetas and mariquitas. I ordered the bistec empanizado, hubby ordered the vaca frita, my son ordered the ropa vieja, my MIL orders the palomilla, and my FIL ordered a papa rellena and tamal along with a natural guava juice. We all shared bites of our plates with each other and everyone agreed that everything was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the vaca frita, so I stole a good bit from hubby and I also loved my FIL's guava juice. Service was good, but we got there shortly after opening so we had the place to ourselves. We noticed as it got busier, service definitely slowed considerably, but there was only one server for the whole place and one more handling to go orders. The one server did a fantastic job despite being the only one for multiple tables, but I did notice one couple left in frustration when they were not attended in a timely manner. I loved that they offer a total of 3 sides with the entrees, so you don't have to compromise on sides. I really enjoyed our meal and will be back to try more things on their menu soon. I definitely recommend Cuban Diner, but urge you to pack your patience if you go when there is a crowd. The good news is that the food will be well worth the wait!
