At first I thought, "Did I get the address right" , I did. So I went. As I pulled up in front of this house, on the side of was a side gate with a cute little sign that read "CAFE LUJAN". This must be the place. As I entered the gate cautiously I can smell the aroma of pizza in the air. Greeted by the Owner and his son with a warm smile and friendly welcome as if I were family that was welcomed to his home. Which technically I was because CAFE LUJAN is a fully licensed operational Micro Enterprise Home Operation Kitchen, aka "MEKHO" ; before you fact check me, YES, Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operations (MEHKOs) are legal in California under state law (AB 626/AB 377), which is actually highly regulated with strict limitations. Anyway, back to my experience. As I was seated and given the menu; I was taken back by the creative names as well as the creative flavors I'm about to experience. I opted for the HOT PATOOTIE - pepperoni, ricotta, hot honey, and a strawberry Italian soda. Less than 12 mins. LESS THAN 12 minutes!! I was being served a fresh hot out the oven gourmet pizza. I pulled out the first slice, and this pizza was so fancy, I was eating with my pinky up!!! The dough was high class restaurant worthy, the sauce was perfect and to mix honey into the pizza complimented the sauce and ricotta perfectly. If the pizza is this good; I GOTTA HAVE DESSERT! So I got the BLUE DELICIOUS - the name didn't do it justice. This should have been called the "BLUE YOU AIN'T READY FOR THIS!" cause I was not ready for a real pizza PIE! It cooks FAST. I want to say less than 10 minutes. As for ambience, it's a backyard of a suburban home. Totally fine. You can get the pizza to go or eat it there. They have a couple of long tables.
