My family was here on Sunday night. I have to be honest. The food was excellent and the server was not. However, i went to offer feedback to the district manager, she handled the situation with such grace and professionalism, I can't help but leave this establishment a 4 star. This is one of the situations where everything about the experience was absolutely lovely. Accept the server. But again, the management handled it so well that I actually do encourage people to patron this location. The food was so good! I mean, honestly, it's always good, and they're very consistent in terms of quality. They offer a variety of crusts for Pizza. I love that. All of their ingredients are super fresh. I recommend the garlic bread, the zoodle salad and any of their pizzas on that deep dish crust. Or even on the grandma crust. Delicious! Located in Danville's downtown area, off one of the main roads, this establishment has a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. On a hot and sunny day (of which there are many in Danville) it'd be nice to sit inside, but the outdoor areas are covered and allow for a nice breeze so even outdoors is desirable. The food is quite good. There is a variety of toppings, styles, and sizes, most pizza lovers will find something here that they absolutely love. My party went with a kale salad to start, and a pepperoni and green peppers medium pizza to end. Both were incredibly delicious. In fact, the kale salad was so good it convinced me that I actually like kale - not a small feat if you know how I feel about vegetables. The service was solid - the host was friendly and seated us quickly even during the lunch rush, the server came by to get our drink orders almost immediately after we sat down, and the food came out piping hot and without much of a wait. First time at this location as I met up with a friend I see once a year, and in a lovely town overall with lots to explore! We ordered a few items like salad and a couple different pizzas. The flavors were all there and the pizza was very well made. Overall the service was also great! Our waitress made sure everything was to our liking and helped us pack our leftovers. I really enjoyed my seasonal spinach and butternut squash salad. It was lightly dressed in champagne vinaigrette and filled with roasted squash, walnuts, dried cranberries Gorgonzola and I added chicken. Wings were flavorful and juicy. This is an excellent spot for pizza and beer. They are in the Little Star family of restaurants, so you know their pizzas are good. What surprised me was how much I liked all the other items on their menu too. We had a glass of Original Pattern (hazy IPA) beer and it was excellent. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable. They have 3 types of crust to choose from: thin, deep dish, and grandma style (square pie with crispy edges). What we ordered: + BRUSSELS SPROUTS & HOT HONEY - a great way to start. Served in a small cast iron pan so it stays very hot. + ARUGULA SALAD WITH STRAWBERRY BALSAMIC - this was so good, with chunks of fresh mozzarella and walnuts + BBQ CHICKEN pizza (thin crust) - lots of tangy BBQ sauce with chunks of pineapple and chicken. If you love deep dish pizza, look no further for some of the best I've ever eaten. The crust is what makes is so amazing. It has cornmeal In it so it gives it a yummy crunch. I always order the same thing, the basic cheese deep dish. It's never soggy, always so fresh tasting and I love the big chucks of stewed tomatoes and how it cuts through the richness of the cheese. I've also ordered the deep dish blue line pizza, it's very yummy as well, with spinach, mushroom, onions and garlic. But I prefer simplicity! They have vegan and gluten free options as well so anyone with dietary restrictions can eat here. I am mostly vegetarian and their menu caters well to me. This is a very comfortable place to eat a quick lunch. Well quick if you order regular pizza. If you order the deep dish pizza it takes 30 minutes to cook. This is what I ordered today. I'm glad I did. It is delicious. The crust is thin but thick and very crispy. I believe it's made with cornmeal possibly. I know it's dusted with it atleast. Then all the toppings are put on and finished with the red pizza sauce with chunky tomatoes in it. It is really really good. Virtually empty on a weekday for lunch. - The regular/small size Italian Combo with the thin crust was fantastic. Wonderfully crunchy crust, not soggy. I'm sure that the meats made this pizza really salty (but in a good way). - The large thick crust Tipsy Pig was good. I think it was made really well (crunchy crust again), but we didn't care for the taste. Maybe it was the crema, but the taste seemed a little confused between sweet and salty. Seemed a bit too sweet, and the pork taste was lost. (However, had leftovers of this pizza the next day, with some BBQ sauce, and it was very good!) Have been to other Blue Line Pizza locations, so know this is a good place. Will try Danville again to try more. Deep dish takes a long time to cook and during that time our server didn't check on us once, which was like 30 minutes. She would check on the tables next to us though. I finished my beer and sat there with an empty glass for a long time. I had to flag her down to get another beer. I asked her to turn on the outdoor heater because my wife and my kid were cold, which never happened. Updated review after 7 years! It looks like Blue Line Pizza has survived the pandemic and is still offering up top-notch pizza and apps in a casual outdoor patio in downtown Danville! We recently took our 3yo to dine here once we learned that he enjoys pizza, especially thin crust. Pizza is great for picky eaters since you can nibble at toppings you like or just eat the whole thing, LOL! Two excellent apps are the sliders and the spicy wings. Sliders are 3 per order with kettle chips and could easily be an entree. Wings are meaty, spicy, and just excellent with bleu cheese dip. The kid's pizza is good sized but has a puffier texture in terms of cheesy toppings. Our son took a few bites but I could tell he liked our thin-crust adult specialty better. For specialty pizzas, definitely a fan of their mushroom/truffle oil pizza on thin crust. A small serves 2-3 easily and its packed with cheesy, umami-filled mushrooms of several varieties and textures. Glad to add Blue Line to our pizza restaurant rotation. They have like 5 other locations but those are all in South Bay/Silicon Valley. Glad one landed in Danville which like San Ramon has tons of pizza options. read more

We were there during happy hour and ordered the wings, meatballs. Both were very yummy, but I'd have to say the meatballs were superior. We ordered the wild mushroom deep dish pizza as our main meal, but in all honesty, we got so full with the appetizers. I will definitely go again and have the meatballs as my meal with a big glass of wine. We sat outside and it was slightly uncomfortable because it was a warm day. I don't know that we could've utilize the shade because of the position of the sun. Next time we'll just be more mindful. Great location, but parking can be a bit tricky. I'll start by saying I don't like giving less than good reviews, especially when times have been tough, but I call it like I see it. We've been going here once in a while since they opened, and used to be a favorite. Recent visit was a bit disappointing. There's now an ordering system where you scan a code on the table, order on an app where you have to give your phone number (who knows where that gets sold?). Then a server/runner brings items to table. It used to be the traditional server model where you interacted with a human who looked after your table and checked in often. Now you pay with app/ scanning a code. Maybe some like that. This new system, for me, very much feels cheapened and impersonal, and gives less attention from servers if you need something I usually get honey with my pizza. In the past at Blue Line, they'd bring a bottle of honey. Now they bring tiny individual plastic containers with a lid. Again- cheapens the experience and kind of nasty for the environment. Same with sides of ranch. Maybe things have been tough, but I go out a lot and this is not common at most places. It just feels like cost cutting has harmed the experience here. I hope things improve because this used to be a favorite pizza place. The deep dish pizzas have been my favorite over almost all other places, but this time there was less flavor and over cooked crust. The flatbread pizza was also nothing special. I hate to even do this because I was so excited to try blue Line Pizza so I'm writing this review only based off my experience with THIS location. We arrived on a Saturday around 300 for a party of 12 for my sons 33rd birthday with his family we sat the manager lady came over awhile later to take our order we were seated inside so not hard to miss us. We ordered a few pizzas appetizers drinks etc. awhile later we received a couple of the pizzas appetizers drinks. We're waiting and waiting for the rest of our food we know that one of the pizzas we are waiting for is a half and half pizza so we figured ok a little longer about 40 minutes after receiving we wondered ok why haven't they asked us about our drinks and where is our missing pizza which happened to be the birthday boys pizza. Birthday went up to the counter asked about the missing pizza they said we had our entire order we said no we are still missing a pizza and no one has even asked if we wanted more drinks etc. they had taken our water crafts about 30 minutes earlier said they would come Back with more water but never did. The crew working at the counter was not sure what was happening with our order. So manager lady looked at the receipt said she put the order in but the pizza was never made and she does not know why. My son said well why didn't anyone check on us refill our water crafts which she took 30 minutes ago if they had them they would have known we were missing our pizza. Last manager never apologized never tried to make it right she just came ups other a bunch of excuses as to why the pizza was never made. Too many phone orders where coming in she was too busy still never apologized. I really wanted to love this place it's close to our new home but that won't be happening. Lady manager finally came over still had attitude never apologized she still said she was to busy to much going on. Literally there are only 3-4 other small parties sitting outside we are the only party inside and you are to busy to notice that you took our water crafts never refilled them unless you brought them to a table outside. Never noticed that our pizza trays were empty waiting for the pizzas to arrive. After she just came to our table started grabbing plates etc from the table took the one water craft we still had and said she would refill it NEVER did again. I'm sorry but lady manager (corporate is aware of the person I am referring to) should not be working in this business especially as a manager. She ruined our birthday family dinner lucky we know we can go across the bay to another Blue Line Pizza place for some real service. Lady manager never apologized she is lucky she has some other great staff who were working at the time to take care of the other customers inside since manager lady is worried about answering the phone Hope others have a better experience than we did for our first time here My family has eaten at other blue lines and assured me they never experienced this type of poor service at any of the others. I hope corporate looks into their management at this location . Update: the sent an email to the email address on their website I was contacted by someone representing Blue Line Pizza whine agreed with lady managers behavior explaining it has circumstances beyond anyone's control. A relative recommended Blue Line Pizza bc I like a cornmeal crust. While there wasn't a very distinct cornmeal texture. Because we wanted a large pizza, only thin crust is available, but I'll have to try their Little Star Deep Dish next time around. The ingredients of the Mediterranean pizza were fresh. Pieces of chicken, artichoke, slices of olives, red bell pepper made this marinara based pizza a colorful work of art. The Free Bird pizza definitely had more flavor with the quality cut bacon scattered along with chicken, red onion & 2 cheeses( gorgonzola & mozzarella) & a few sparing pieces of spinach. This place makes a pizza that is pretty darn close to the authentic deep dish pizzas that you get in Chicago. If you go with a group, you can try a lot of pizzas and the price is very reasonable. In general, their pizza quality is great and you will not be disappointed. They have big tables for groups too- just get here early (5 PM) to avoid the rush and you will get good service and the food will come out timely. They have a small parking lot in the back and there is also street parking- this part of downtown isn't as difficult to find street parking. read more
