Didn't hate the place but didn't love it either. Came here for summerlicious with a friend. The place was empty, the decor is basically all pink/purple, but the staff were very friendly. We got the Caesar salad, arancini, chicken coq au van, salmon, Black Forest cake, and cheesecake. The salad was nice and fresh, the arancini was extra fried but still tasted good. The chicken was actually really good, but the salmon was a little heavy because they pan fry it and it's got a nice crispy top but also serve it with fries. It just felt like too much fried food and wasn't very well balanced. The desserts were both good and also heavy. Overall, didn't hate but also not amazing enough to want to go back to.

I had the most incredible experience at this restaurant, and I have to start by mentioning the service. Our waiter was amazing... so accommodating, friendly, and he truly made our visit feel seamless from start to finish. The decor inside is a stunning, a luxurious pink escape... The food was just as impressive as the atmosphere. I had the steak served over parsnip purée and spinach, and it was so flavorful that it made my tastebuds dance. For dessert I had the Madagascar Crème Brûlée which was easily my favorite part of the night. I was also thrilled to see they had a fantastic selection of non-alcoholic drinks that were just as curated as the rest of the menu. Between the beautiful space and the fantastic food, there is absolutely nothing not to love. It really was worth every penny and I can't wait to return! Also, my whole family enjoyed their meals and they are hard to please!!!

Came here for my brother in-law's birthday. This place is located on the second floor of the Revery hotel. They had us in a private room since we had about 25 people. The seating arrangement they made was in a U shape. This didn't work well since for some reason, there just weren't enough room and space. Service: We were a huge group and were likely the last seating. Some of my friends ordered their drinks and received it more than 30mins later. That's a huge minus in my opinion. Also we ordered bottles and ended up self-serving since there was only one waitress for us. Felt sorry for her, she was great and kind though. Food: This place is expensive and I expected good food. I ordered the scallops for appetizer, salmon, and the chocolate mousse for dessert. The scallops were on the cold side (should be warm) and just too salty. The salmon was perfect on one side and just dry on the other. The mousse was decent and good. I tried the beef steak as well, just a no, too chewy, not good. The creme brûlée is a no as well, it had tangerines in there? It was different but that was not on the description. Overall, I wouldn't come here again or maybe just not with a big group. Having just one waitress and one extra food server is not good at all. The food also isn't all that great. Like I said, perhaps with a smaller table up to 4, the experience may be better. We did pay way more than the outside group for our large group, so I really expected the overall experience to be at least a 4/5. Rating: 3/5

The decor is like what 1970 thought the year 2000 would look like... The food was freshly made and good (we ate breakfast here every day). Ask for special coffee and they will make it for you! The staff was so accommodating and welcoming. I highly recommend this place.

Inside the Revery Toronto at the second floor, good breakfast and worth trying at least once if you're staying at the hotel. Good decor for your Instagram, service is a little slow because it seems they're understaffed but otherwise a good place.

Cool downtown spot. The sign out front was obvious but knowing to go to the second floor of the hotel was not. The decor inside is just like you see on their website. We went on a weekday evening so they were not super busy. Our server happened to be the bartender who made some fun drinks for us. All the food we had was very well prepared.

The service was absolutely amazing -- my server Zlana and the host went above and beyond to make my dinner enjoyable. Not only did they make sure to check in on me regularly despite having three large parties to attend to, they did their best to fulfill my requests and delivered every time. The Ambiance of the restaurant in the evening is also gorgeous, many spots to take photos and it seemed especially popular for "girls night out" pictures. The food itself was fine, nothing spectacular in my opinion. I had the Miso Alfredo with an addition of steak cooked to a perfect medium rare. I heard many of the other dishes are delicious but I did not have the appetite for more!

Our food was great and the happy hour prices weren't expensive. The peach bellini is definitely worth the hype! The place SEEMED quiet but shortly thereafter the place got JAMMED! Initially it was slow service but it picked up shortly. We had several different servers so no single server is tagged here. I will say that it's a hip, nicely equipped restaurant. We decided to do an appie meal. We ordered Sichuan Chicken lettuce wraps ($25.50)..this was the best of the appies. The next was the Crab Dip ($20.75), it was hot but not overly tasty. 3rd was the Hot Chicken Bites with pickles ($16.00). They were ok but not hot in temp enough. The final was the Chili Citrus Calamari ($21.25). This was the worse of the dishes. Simply put, it was cold. The server removed this from our bill. In summary...I wouldn't go out of my way again to go here but given all things being equal, the servers were very good. As a final note...the bathroom was very clean & well maintained.

Either the menu is a mediocre version of the actual menu, and/or the service is dismissive once they learn you're there for the 'licious set. Black + Blue had a $65 dinner menu which is pretty good for the options available. The portions were generous but the service was where things really stood out. We were treated so incredibly well by all the staff. Dawn was our server and she was so lovely! We really felt taken care of. I've never had a restaurant server look at the type of pant I was wearing and change my table napkin to a black one to match my dark pants. Nor do I remember a restaurant heating up the mug a cappuccino comes in to ensure it stays nice and warm. As for food, we were allowed to have some partake in Summerlicious and some not. I had the Summerlicious menu and picked the Wagyu Tartare, Surf and Turf, and Buttercake. Great portions, delicious food. My favourite was the Buttercake. We also had happy hour drinks, oysters, a prime rib, and caesar salad. If I were to recommend something, get the $78 prime rib which is 14 oz, perfectly seasoned, and comes with glazed carrots and the most amazing mashed potatoes I've ever had.

From the vibes to the food, everything was top notch. Tyler took care of our group and made sure that we got an experience rather than just a meal. Upon being seated we got napkins to match our outfits so the white lint didn't get on our black pants , an incredible guava passion fruit cocktail to try and a meat presentation to make sure we all order like pros from here on out. The food was incredible- one our tastebuds won't forget! Our group of 5 started with fresh sushi and sashimi, table side Caesar salad and the softest brioche served with sun-dried tomato butter that was perfect in every way. Main course: Australian wagyu ribeye that we didn't even have to chew plus a strip loin and beef Wellington (which was maybe the only thing I don't need to order again, but still delicious). All the sides were amazing and finally sticky toffee pudding and butter cake to put us in a complete food coma. Wouldn't change a thing about this meal. We cannot thank you enough Tyler (and Toronto!!)!

I've been wanting to try LOUIX LOUIS for the longest time, so when the opportunity came up to visit…read moreduring Summerlicious, I knew I had to finally check it out. Located on the 31st floor of the St. Regis Hotel, the restaurant has an incredible atmosphere. The dining room is absolutely stunning with a classy and luxurious feel, but it still feels comfortable and inviting rather than too formal. We started the evening with cocktails before moving into the Summerlicious menu. I ordered the "I Only Drink When I Smoke," which was a great way to start the night. It had a subtle smoky flavour with a touch of sweetness, and the alcohol was not overpowering at all. It was smooth, easy to sip on, and the perfect drink to enjoy while having conversations. For my Summerlicious menu, I started with the Tartare de Boeuf and Caviar. The filet mignon tartare was fresh and really smooth, with a nice balance of rich and savoury flavours. The toasted bread also gave it a nice crunch and paired really well with the tartare. For the main course, I had the Roasted Chateaubriand Filet. When the plate was served, the meat looked really rare as I saw nothing but red on the meat, but it was incredibly tender, making it easy to cut through. It was full of flavour, and the sauce complemented the steak without being too heavy or salty. The vegetables added a nice balance to the dish, and the creamy mashed potatoes were smooth, and definitely one of my favourite parts of the meal. To finish, I had the Mango Passionfruit Cheesecake. It was creamy without feeling too heavy. Though the fruity flavours from the mango passionfruit were a bit tart and sweet for my palate, it still gave an overall refreshing touch. The crust added a nice texture, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the service and pacing of the evening. Each course arrived at the right time, allowing us to enjoy every dish without feeling rushed. The price point is definitely on the higher end, so it is not somewhere I would personally visit for a casual dinner on a regular basis. However, for a special occasion, celebration, or a night where you want to enjoy a beautiful dining experience, I think Louix Louis would be a great choice... and for $75/ person for Summerlicious/ Winterlicious, definitely a great value to sample the chefs' artistry. Overall, it was a memorable evening with an elegant atmosphere, thoughtfully prepared dishes, and great service. I can definitely understand why this spot has become such a popular destination, and I would love to come back again for Winterlicious!

Perched high above the bustle of downtown Toronto, LOUIX LOUIS makes a compelling first impression…read more The dining room is genuinely handsome -- a study in polished Art Deco glamour softened by sweeping city views that lend every table a sense of occasion. On a Valentine's Day brunch visit, the atmosphere alone was enough to justify the reservation. The kitchen demonstrates genuine competence: dishes arrive with care, the pacing is unhurried, and the mise en scène -- from tableside presentation to that now-famous thirteen-layer chocolate cake -- reveals an establishment that understands the theatre of fine dining. That towering slice of chocolate cake, in particular, is a masterstroke of marketing and pastry craft in equal measure; it draws the eye, earns its reputation, and very nearly steals the show. Where LOUIX LOUIS gives one pause is in the cuisine's ability to fully match its surroundings. The cooking is accomplished and reliably pleasant, yet seldom rises to the level of genuine distinction one might hope for at this price point. Dishes satisfy without surprising; technique is evident but inspiration, at moments, feels held in reserve. For the corporate traveller or the visitor seeking a polished, geographically convenient showcase of the city's skyline, this represents an entirely sound choice. For those seeking an experience whose flavours linger as long as the view, the kitchen has room yet to grow into its magnificent stage. Service is attentive and well-intentioned, though it can occasionally want for the depth of knowledge that elevates a good meal into a memorable one. LOUIX LOUIS is, in sum, a very good restaurant striving -- not quite yet arriving -- at greatness. The bones are exceptional; one hopes the culinary vision will, in time, catch up with them.
