One of the worst experiences I have ever had. The tech who I am assuming is the order treated me so poorly when her favorites walked through the door. Even asked someone already sitting in the chair with bare feet if she could come back tomorrow..Apparently, favoritism overides any other customers. My pedicure was the worst experience, I have ever had. Tech took no care in asking what I wanted and she did what she could to rush the process..i was scheduled for a manicure pedicure but after witnessing the piss poor excuse of a pedicure i left with bare fingernails and no type of pampering whatsoever. I used a go to Mimi Nails more often then stopped to go somewhere closer. I was in the area and decided to get my nails done. I should have walked out when I was looking for a color polish. While there were many selections, the nail polishes seemed old. I felt bad to just leave so went through with it. 1. I am now used to places that use individually wrapped one-time file and buffer so I was grossed out when that wasn't the case. The nail tech was harsh and she was almost digging her nails into my finger, so that was a bit painful. I flinched a few times, but no emotion or apologies. 2. They didn't use a cup to soak your hand and no spraying of disinfectant of any kind. 3. I asked the nails to be a square shape, but I got more slanted angles, I had to come home and fix the shape. 4. Because the polishes were old, when she put on two layers, it seemed really thick... which unfortunately was easy to get ruined. Within 5 minutes, not sure how it happened, but the polish on two nails caked up. 5. Applying the polish was NOT on point. Some of the polish got on my skin and just not a clean job. I could have done a better job myself. I wish Mimi Nails well, but I certainly won't be going back. read more

I love Mimis. I go once a month without fail. I get a great manicure without fail. I like powder ones and they never chip and I change colors only because I get tired of it. My daughter and her friends go now because they are treated well and they get beautiful looking nails at a fair price. My friends pay way more elsewhere. I do not do my nails elsewhere and highly recommend. read more

So I use to frequent Mimi's Salon many years ago and stop going.. if you ask why I can't remember . Any way I decided to get a Salon Pedicure and to say the least I am very disappointed in the upkeep of the salon and hygiene. As I watched the nail techs , o realized they changed the garbage and massaged your feet at the same time . Also when they finish using scrapers , they left the dirty shit next to my station from the last client .of course i asked the lady to please remove it from my sight; I don't think anyone wants to get their pedicure and watch dead skin on the side of the chair. Proper sanitation isn't utilized in this place. The owner is sweet, but sweet isn't going to stop me from getting an infection . The place isn't properly ventilated... so the fumes are overwhelming. I'm not happy right now , I want to pay and never return. Place is dirty and someone is going to get a terrible infection . read more

I've been three times since moving to this area. The first two times the same woman did them.Gel on top of tips and she did exactly what I wanted. After this last appointment I won't be going back or recommending anyone to. The woman who did my manicure made my nails uneven, shorter than I wanted, and not the shape I asked for. When I asked for it to be fixed she did one and sent me on my way. When I spoke to the owner she said it would be fixed for free since I spent over $100. When I went back the next day to get them fixed and explained what was wrong the nail tech refused to fix them and the owner still wanted to charge me another $50. The nail tech thought I wouldn't understand what she said but I did. I paid over $70 for tips to be the exact length of my natural nail (which makes no sense) and i still tipped . Incredibly unprofessional and overall a very uncomfortable situation and when I called to ask for a refund they hung up on me and would not pick up the phone. Don't go here read more

The gel dryer machine wasn't working well, the UV light didn't turn on as soon as I put my hands in there maybe that's why it come out back ? Or maybe Mandy did a bad job ? I went two time before and the other two ladies did a decent good job. So I will not go back or if I do go back, I will request not to have Mandy !! My nails where all long. I'm okay with it short. My daughter and I started going here about 3 months ago. Mimi and her husband are extremely polite and tries to ensure your needs are met and that you are serviced appropriately. When it was my daughters birthday they gifted her with a manicure. They are really good and provide services such as LCN which most salons do not carry. They are clean. The staff has been polite and helpful. They really do. Emails really good. I haven't had a problem yet. They appear to be knowledgeable about the products explaining what might be better options based on your skin, and nail condition. read more

I used to go to Mimi nails frequently... but I stopped because I always felt rushed by the owner. Everything in there is micromanaged by the owner. I stopped going for awhile because I was just really tired of how they treated the customers. I came yesterday for the first time in a long time and the girl who did my nails didn't do a good job but I returned today in hopes that they will just fix my nails because they do cost a lot of money. Vicky redid a few nails and I asked her to fix them all because they didn't look good. She was nasty and did my nails the whole time with an attitude making me feel uncomfortable and for that I will NEVER go back there. They really don't know how to treat high paying customers because they are not cheap! That was the straw that broke the camels back for me! Customer service is not good but they expect good tips! I've been coming here for a few years now . Staff is very friendly . They are cleaner than most nail salons ( I've been to many along sunset park and bay ridge before coming here ). They do not reuse heel scrubbers like a lot of nail salons . Also I like the fact that the metal nail supplies like the clippers are sterilized and that for pedicures they put a plastic bag in the sink to protect your feet . Places I was going before would just only clean the sink nothing more . I also love how they do nails especially Vicky who does my little nail designs . ( see picture ) Tiffany and Tina are also good with designs . All staff always gives a mini foot massage if pedicure and hand massage if manicure and also a back massage. I also like the parrafin they put on your heels with every pedicure to keep it soft. I'm really surprised that Mimi's doesn't have more stars. I live upstairs from Mimi's, and when I get a mani/pedi (not often), I choose Mimi's, even though I have other options. When my family visits from out of town, I send them to Mimi's. So my friends and I have, in total, enjoyed probably 50 mani/pedis at Mimi's. They've always done a good job. I should start with that, because that's obviously important. None of us in our group are high maintenance, but if we splurge on a mani/pedi, we want it to look nice. Here's other reasons why Mimi's is awesome: 1-It's clean and bright in there 2-Mimi is always working, yet she's always pleasant. 3-Mimi's husband takes impeccable care of the area in front of the store. As his upstairs neighbor, I often pass by to see him shoveling snow, sweeping trash, or even decorating the little tree area in front with holiday decor. He's also really friendly. 4-My little nieces (age 9 and 12) wanted manicures when they visited from out of town this weekend. Mimi's prices for kids' services were much more reasonable than we thought they'd be. Yeah! 5-My niece smudged her nails after the mani but didn't speak up (ack!) until an hour later. We went back two hours later to see if Mimi's could touch up the smudges, and to my surprise, they very quickly said yes. What a nice way to accommodate your customer! Go to Mimi's. They won't rip you off, treat you like a bother, or try to upsell you twenty different ways. And your nails will look purty! read more

Nice people. Clean salon. They use disposable liners for pedicure which is great and also add a lot to the regular pedicure (special scrub and oil). If you receive one, make sure you ask the original value from whoever gave it to you, be very clear with the cashier (usually Mimi) that you know it's value and the cost of the services you're having, and make sure the change marked on the card is correct.
