This is the very rude man who was very disrespectful

The service was horrible I went in to get my mobile order early I told him my son ordered it and he was just straight up rude. Horrible service and I will never be back unacceptable. PS it was the man doing the sushi. Very very disappointed. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. He was extremely unprofessional and rude.

Great spot to grab a slice or a sushi roll. Pizza: they do a hearty, large variety NY slice. Plenty of veggies and meats to pick from, ready made and quick! Sushi: Not a place to go and sit for a sushi experience, but they have good quality ingredients and a large menu of raw and cooked options. Great spot to grab some takeout on the way up to Bogus!! I for some reason never went here for five years, but since my first visit, I have been back multiple times. Good quality spot for takeout or super casual eating.

Hahaha, I wrote a review for this place earlier, took me a HOT minute to write it and then Yelp said it was too long. Have they met me?!?! My reviews are always long! lol! So! Let's try this again. At the intersection of Harrison Blvd and Hill Rd, you turn left and half a block up is this hiking spot, Harrison Hollows. Wonderful place to hike. You start a hike on the right side of the trails. I did this one day and turn my head to the right, look down the huge hill, I see through the brush and the trees a sign for the place that has been dubbed "Boise's Best Pizza" pretty much every year since moving here. After every hike at Harrison Hollows, I told my roommate "we are eating there after the hike" Did that ever happen? Nope. My friends Birthday was the other day and I FINALLY made it to the locally famous, Lulu's Pizza! Ever since moving here, I've been on an ongoing quest to find the BEST pizza in Boise. Growing up in NY, I had the best pizza my entire life. Coming to Boise, Idaho, you just don't expect to find pizza that compares to any NY pizza. Oprah's big ass did a pizza quest years ago and claimed a restaurant in Phoenix had the country's best pizza. Her lover, Gayle also said this place had the best. I lived in Phx for years, ate at that restaurant a few times and I can assure....it is NOT the best pizza in this country. It's good, but best of the entire country...haha, no, not quite. Not even close to the best. 2 weeks ago I reviewed NY Giant Pizza. After visiting Lulu's on Sunday, I can still say that NY Giant Pizza...is still my favorite here and that it is without a doubt, the closest to true NY pizza. Lulu's is very good, don't get me wrong, but to dub it Boise's best...ehhhh, I dunno bout all that! The restaurant is cool as hell. You walk in and immediately notice all the bikes hanging from the ceiling. They also have some great art on the wall, including a nice little tribute to the INCREDIBLE Aaliyah. The staff are a bunch of hippies and hipsters. Yes, there's a big difference between the two lol. Hippies are great! Hipsters...wellllll, we all know about them lol. Luckily, lulu's found some good hipsters. All their staff is super friendly! Most HIPPIES tho...are, haha! The food...the pizza, it is very good. Nice large slices, and it it tasty. I would say it's unique to Boise. Adding "NY Style" I think they should drop that bit. Then again, businesses do this to make that $$$, lol. Again, it's very good pizza, but I wouldn't say it's our best here. Should you try this place? Absolutely! Will I go again?? Of course. Oh, they have sushi too! I know, I thought it was totally random too! But apparently people like pizza and sushi night, hahaa! I paid like $26 for a large. I kiiiiinda thought that was overpriced. But again, when you win "best of" you have more leeway to bump the prices up and also, north end businesses have that rent to pay. Ok, I guess I will end here. Don't wanna make it too long, YELP! hahahaal! Oh, slices are available for like $4 bucks each! See, to me, that's a tad much. But it's their place and obviously it's working for them. They don't need to raise the price anymore tho. Just sayin. Oh! Haha! And they have a lot of great imported beers. I'm not much of a drinker, but I do love me some great imported beers from time to time! That's it! Thanks so much, my yelperererers!!! Enjoy that pizza! Cheers!

Sadly, this past favorite of mine has really turned consistently bad. Pizzas take far too long to make and are typically over cooked.

Even though the restaurant was absolutely packed when I arrived, they were able to get my order ready much earlier than originally scheduled. I really appreciated them going out of their way to help me. The food was fantastic! The Honey Badger pizza was delicious, the Everynight salad was even better. Yet I wanted to experience their take on Detroit pizza one last time before they lock the doors for good. Yesterday, I called to order a Detroiter pizza, my go-to pie since they opened, for takeout. The woman who answered the phone asked to put me on hold for a "short wait." Ten minutes later I was still on hold and hung up. Today, I decided to try again. I called at around the same time, 4:30 p.m., which normally has not been a busy time there before the dinner rush starts. This time, I was told to call back. What? So I went online and ordered there for pickup. I got an email back immediately, saying my order had been submitted but that it wasn't confirmed until I got a second email with my pickup time. More than an hour later, I'm still waiting for that second email. What a horrible operation they've become. Their pizza was excellent in the beginning and I didn't mind driving across town to a convenient location near the airport to pick up one of their pizzas. But as their quality slipped, I found myself going there less and less. Today's failure will be the last time I try before they close forever. All I have is the memories from better days.

Be sure to read the signs outside otherwise they won't seat you if you go through the takeout door. I saw it happen to a party of 4 who stood awkwardly in the takeout corner for about 20 minutes during peak rush. Other than that, there's plenty of table and bar seating available. We waited less than 5-10 minutes for a table of 2. The service was excellent! We were originally seated by the door, so we were getting blasted by the summer heat every time it opened. Once a table opened up away from it, our server offered to move us (and we did lol). We ordered two small pizzas, the Comet and the Idahoan. Both were delicious! We ended ordering their current special to-go, which was a BLT-style pizza. One small pizza is enough for two people but if you want to bring home leftovers, I recommend ordering two smalls! Btw, a large pizza is enough to feed four people from what we saw. Would definitely come back! Highly recommend if you're in the area or just love pizza.

We ate that and it was another 20 minutes before they came to the table and told us they prioritized the take out orders over ours, "But your pizzas are now in the oven." The table behind us who also ordered an appetizer and 2 pizzas, were served 10 minutes before we were served. Always willing to overlook some hiccups in service if the food is good... unfortunately the food was terrible. We ordered a Don Ho and the sauce was so bland it was gross. The center of the pizza was so soft we thought, at first, it was under cooked. After looking at the bottom of the pie we could see it was cooked but we also noticed that the sauce was so watery it pooled in the center and made everything soft and gross. The margarita pizza was so overcooked the cheese was melted into the pizza and the basil leaves were wilted and yet crispy at the same time. Below is a picture of what it SHOULD have looked like, and a picture of what we got. It was so bad we actually sent it back and they said, "Well that's how we always make it." We had high hopes but after this all around lacking experience, we won't be back.

They do have a cool mural on the south side wall depicting various gangsters: Dillinger, Lanskey, Nelson, Capone, and Seigel. There are a lot of tables packed fairly close together in the dining room. Our server was Arturo. He was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgable about the food, giving recommendations as to his favorite dishes and explaining in detail how the special of the night was prepared. Really, he was exceptional, especially taking care of a large group. To start, there is what I think was a rosemary bread, along with balsamic vinegar and oil to dip, which was very good. The mushrooms and the fried calimari appetizers weree great. And, all of the entrees were deemed "10/10" when we did our informal polling at the end of our visit. My wife had the scampi and I had the margherita pizza. Other entrees included lasagna, angel hair pasta with meatballs, chicken scallopini, and the "Gabriel". All of the food was delicious. Our group definitely plans to come back and enjoy another dining experience at Luciano's, in our opinion, the best Italian restaurnt in The Valley.
