Came here on a Wednesday night. It was pretty quiet. This place is open till 3am This entire area has a cool vibe to it. There's both indoor and outdoor seating space. We got the Vegan (jalapenos, pineapple and something else). It was pretty good! It some kind of jam or something sweet and slightly sticky on it. Also got the roasted pepper pizza which was also good too. There wasn't an overpowering taste of peppers. My daughter got the potato bacon and Thai chicken pizza. Both were really good. The slices are a good size! One isn't enough, but 2 will make you feel stuffed! I also got a Huckleberry ale. It's not hoppy. Ok, so imagine you are out late and hungry. You need something quick, cheap, and tasty. Boom! This place shows up as you walk by. Yeah it's got a long line out the door but it must be good if there's a line. You get in line and luckily it moves pretty fast. You are inside and it's a typical divey place with stickers everywhere, but that's what I like about it. Sure, there is zero chance you can have a conversation there with everyone being so loud and the nightclub blasting music, but you didn't come for that, did you? You order at the register and you got a couple of options and all of them are on average just under $4 a slice. Moments later you go to the pickup line and served your thin slice with crunchy crust and yummy sauce and not burned toppings. Ok, so it's mostly a college hangout or for people in their 20's and 30's because it's right next to a very loud nightclub. There is only seating outside, but a lot of it. I went with friends to the Pie Hole after going out for drinks. This place was packed on a Saturday night! People were hanging out inside and outside. Music from the nightclub nextdoor made it seem like a party vibe. Even though it seemed chaotic, there was a sense of efficiency. The line moved fast, a listing of pizzas were on the wall. A vegan option was listed with what all came on the pizza. It's already made, and once you order, they throw it in the pizza oven. So there's no substitution or deletion. A slice of pizza and a fountain drink came out to a little over $7. Very reasonable. We found a table outside that was big enough to seat our group of 9. I had to pick off all the onions, but otherwise the pizza tasted fine. People were leaving their trash on the tables. There were trash receptacles right outside the fenced area as you exit. Stopped here for a late night snack and was blown away by the decor! The vibes were soo creative and fun it definitely gives off a place you go after the club to keep the vibes up a little longer. I was looking for a slice of potato pizza and their potato-bacon hit the spot. It was cheap ($3.28) and flavorful. There could have been more bacon or more substantial pieces of bacon, but that's fine. Conveniently located on Eighth Street, which is a walk-friendly, closed-to-traffic, outdoor area surrounded by a bunch of restaurants. You wait in line in the dark-ish restaurant, get to the front, view the menu/available pizza, order, take a few steps to the cashier and pay, then wait for your order to be called. A hole in the wall style location. I can't help but feel the hipster vibe oozing from the walls. The pizza is sold by the slice as well as whole pies. I went back to my days of youth in NYC and ordered a slice and a coke. The pizza was delicious. It is very much NY pizza shop style slices. The crust was crispy and authentic. The sauce might be a tiny bit sweet but still delicious. The only difference between this slice and one I would expect at my local pizza shop on NYC is the lack of olive oil that would glaze the top of my slice almost like sweat as it glistens. I loved that in NYC years ago. Maybe it's not a big deal to you? Seating is limited inside but plenty of spots outside when the weather permits. A selection of beers are available and cans of PBR line the walls in places. It is not a place for a fine dinner but if you want a slice or two and can sit outside it is worth a stop. read more

Unfortunately, that changed after my first bite when i discovered a long hair baked right into my slice. I reached out to management regarding this and they gave me a refund which I appreciated. However, what really surprised me was the lack of concern or even simple apology. They did not seem particularly bothered about the issue.... mistakes happen, but something like this makes you question the kitchen's cleanliness & food safety standards and seems like that is not a strong management concern. The drunchies kicked in at around midnight so it was time to find some food. Fortunately close to where I was in downtown Boise was Pie Hole Pizza on N 8th Street which is a busy street with tons of restaurants, bars, and other late night shenanigans. They are open until about 3am which makes it perfect for carbs at the end of the night. Along with their Boise location they also have locations in Idaho Falls, Missoula, Denver, and Salt Lake City. However, only the downtown Boise location serves vegan pizza. I ordered a slice of pepperoni ($2.91) and a slice of the day ($3.16) which by my shoddy picture looked to consist of mushrooms, sausage, olives, something green, and a seemingly stray pineapple. Quite frankly, I don't remember much of the specific tastes but based on the way the pizza looked and how quickly I finished it, I'd bet they both tasted pretty good and hit the spot. Unfortunately they were out of the potato bacon slice ($3.16) when I visited but I wanted to try it so badly that I came back again a couple days later and even called them beforehand to make sure they were selling them. I actually remembered how this tasted this time; it was cheesy and bacon-y, however I wish there were more potatoes as there was only one piece on the slice. The prices were great, good service, variety of pizza options, and convenient location that is open late. I got the bacon and potato pizza and wow!! I may start needing to put potatoes on my pizza, what a different flavor but I'm a fan now. The other was chicken and green pepper which was wonderful as well. The pizza was very filling and lots of toppings which was impressive. I ended up getting a cheese slice for my travels and it tasted wonderful even cold when I had it the next day. There are nearly 2K combine on Google and Yelp reviews for this place and not one of them mentions the concerning number of flies that are leisurely flying around inside, surely landing on all the ready-to-go slices laid out on the counter. Now, I don't mean one or two. I spotted at least a dozen. Some flying about, others perched on soda machine and MANY sitting on the windows. I was very disappointed with this, especially since the workers were super nice. My husband said the pizza was great, but I could not get a slice for myself once I saw the flies. I like Pie Hole for their parbaked pizza slices. They are partially cooked, you tell the cook what you want and they slap them into the oven real quick to warm back up. Nothing could be easier or quicker for lunch, which is when I usually go there if I'm downtown. There's a lot of grease, as my photo attests. Maybe it's an homage to the 1960s, when that was standard. The slices themselves are a little flimsy, maybe because of the grease. Only the edge of the crust has any firmness. Oh well. I digged the vibes here with the eclectic character of stickers everywhere, and an upside down mini Xmas trees hung from the ceiling. Awesome pizza! I was hoping to try their Thai Chicken which was unavailable today. Not sure how I can find out when it is available or on what day. Outside seating area is pretty filthy in my opinion. I think because it's so "casual," no one ever cleaned the tables or chairs. The white folding tables were black/gray and sticky.
