Friends flew into Van Nuys airport, and we had exactly 45 minutes to run and grab a bite with them before they had to leave. We went to Lulu's because that's the only decent looking place around. We didn't expect much, but were pleasantly surprised. We told the waitress we were in a hurry, and they did hustle for us. Eventually there were about 3 people hovering around making sure we had everything we needed. The food came fast and was hot. We were able to eat and get out of there in time. As for the food, we ordered Mexican which was fine, although the beans need a bit of spicing up. It was tasty and better than basic coffee shop fare. I think this is a step up from a Denny's-type place, and we very much appreciated the fast service we were given. We would definitely go there again. read more

I went into Lulus to order and a to go order and regret it. I ordered chicken tenders,fries, and strawberry lemonade for myself and macaroni and cheese and apple juice off the kids menu for my nephew. The chicken tenders were gross, some of the worst I have had. They were soggy with grease and chicken was very hard to chew. The fries tasted like they bad been frozen for a while. I don't expect much when ordering Mac and cheese from a kids menu but the Mac and cheese didn't even taste as good as boxed Kraft. I'm giving one star because the lemonade was good and the staff were polite. But for the price of the food, 29$, and what I recieved I can only give them one star. I wanted to write about my experience at Lulus today. I've come to this restaurant many, many times and have friends who love it as well. I went today with a group of friends to enjoy breakfast. We ordered their famous broiled chicken and waffles and they were delicious. We almost had a bad experience today. We originally asked our server for some mimosas. When we received them, we weren't really liking the flavor of the drink. So our waitress Kim took the drinks back and made us another batch. They were still just okay. We then decided to just order cocktails instead of mimosas. They had a sign about their Moscow Mules by their bar. We told our waitress we wanted 4 mules. She informed us that they didn't have a bartender and she didn't know how to make the drink. I asked her twice, and both times she told me it was not possible. And she had a very impatient and borderline rude attitude toward us. Not even 5 minutes after our conversation, I saw another waitress with a copper mug in her hand taking it to another table. I knew that was the cup you use for Moscow Mules, but I wanted to be sure so I got up and asked that waitress what she had just served. She immediately said a Moscow Mule. I told her that our waitress said we couldn't order those cause no one was available to make them. She looked shocked and surprised and told me that they could ABSOLUTELY make us a mule. I was so upset because it was obvious that our waitress didn't even bother to ask if anyone could make the drinks for us. She just assumed it was not doable. I asked for the manager. And that is where everything took a turn for the better. The owner and general manager Michael Cormalinga came to the rescue. Not only did he apologize to us for our servers behavior, but he gave us two rounds of Moscow Mules on the house. And he continued to check on us and even took the time to let us know that it is Lulus policy to please the customer and to give their clients a pleasant experience. He is the only reason I'm giving this review 5 stars. His customer service was outstanding. He made everything better and we left happy and satisfied. I will definitely be back to enjoy all of their delicious foods. And the cocktails were sooooo delicious. Thank you Michael for caring so much about your customers. There is a little bit... no there's a lot for everyone--comfort foods, Mexican, Italian, American dishes, plus more that don't fit the categories. They are open breakfast, lunch and dinner. Terrible service, and food is not that great. I ordered a full meal it was mediocre maybe 2 out of 5 stars. They couldn't even get a bagel with cream cheese right. They sent a bagel with butter and strawberry jam. Then when I called they said they are really busy so does that mean its ok to mess up my order? I asked for them to send me a cream cheese and they said it'd take 30-40 min.. I waited and it passed and hour and nothing. This place is terrible I don't recommened this place at all they even went on to say that it could be the delivery driver that postmate sent, when clearly they messed up they placed butter in the bagel so it wasn't at all postmates it was them. read more

On November 20, 2010, I worked with Debi the Catering Manager to cater a 50th Birthday party at a local bar. I ordered food for 75 people. The amount of food they provided was enough to feed at least 100 people!! They were very generous with their portions. We had the taco bar with beans and rice, chips and salsa. First, the good. Melanie is a lovely lady and a pleasure to have for a waitress. Now, the not so good. The Cajun Shrimp and Avocado Salad shown on the menu cover looked yummy, but looks are deceptive. The red onion came in chunks too big to consume and were scattered throughout the salad. As I was picking them out, Melanie saw and offered to take back the salad. I declined. Bad decision. The spice on the shrimp contained enough sodium to be seriously overpowering and I scraped most of it off. The crunch came from a premade corn tostada shell which was broken into pieces of varying sizes of shards. The finishing touch was a black, curly hair approximately 5 inches long. I have passed this place numerous times going to the Home Depot next door. Never really ever thought of eating here. One day my wife brought home fried chicken from here from folks who had some from a work lunch. I tasted fried chicken breast and was really surprised. We just ordered a 12 piece mix with bread, potatoes and cole slaw. Man, it was good. A nice round loaf of bread. Hearty broasted potatos. Chicken was crispy, not really greasy and fresh tasting. And although I'm not really a slaw person, it tasted pretty good. Napkins, utensils, condiments. $32. I am only giving 4 stars because I have not eaten anything else. I have to say I am surprised by the bad reviews that this establishment is receiving. I have been eating at Lulu's for years and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the valley. The wide selection of food is reasonably priced and the portions are HUGE! I have tried numerous menu items over the years, but my favorites include any of the salads, the mozzerella sticks (breaded and made fresh on site daily), the burgers, and the pasta dishes. Lulu's offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily and provides a comfortable family environment. The sports bar is usually packed on Sundays during football season and the staff aims to please. I almost felt that I ordered potato and biscuit dinner with small side of chicken. And when you advertise "white meat dinner" just say it's a wing ... Most of us think it's two breast meal . I mostly come in for breakfast they have this awesome breakfast specials menu with great prices for quality food. My usual plate is #2 2x2x2 it comes with eggs, pancakes, and bacon or sausage. I also order a side of country patatoes. The portions are pretty big so when I come I have to have a big appetite. The food has good flavor and they are great with any dislikes on your dish either they'll fix it to your taste or take it back but they will take care of you. read more

The first time I ordered from this place everything was perfect second time I order from this place they gave me the wrong item. At one point I thought maybe it was the fault of postmates But I Selected the Get it again option on Postmates so the request and instructions were exactly the same. I have other things I need to get done today and I thought I will save some time by ordering through Postmates, eat and continue the other things I need to get done, but now I need to spend time and try to figure out how to get my money back or get this resolved and go buy food somewhere else not sure how I feel about this place anymore if they can't follow a simple order that they've done before read more

The delivery was fast and the food was excellent. The reason for a 4 star instead of 5 was only because the salad container had a lot of water at the bottom of it. I'm not sure if it was due to condensation from the hot chicken on top or if the lettuce was put in the container very wet.
