I simply ordered fries and a large water with no ice. I was charged for the water as a regular drink and as I stated the fries sucked! The drive thru time to receive my items was ridiculous. I get change is good but this changed worked for the worst. I guess only good thing I can say about this place is that it is open 24hrs othet than that nothing else and their drive thru is shaped weird, it's easy to scratch a rim or your mirror if you not very careful.

I planned accordingly and even arrived earlier so I could pick it up fresh and avoid waiting. However, just five minutes after placing the order, I received a text saying it was already ready. That immediately raised a red flag, because if you're paying $13+ for a double burger, you expect it to be made closer to your arrival time, not immediately. When I arrived, the burger was already cold. When I brought this up, the employee I spoke with repeatedly said "it's not my fault" and pointed to someone else, instead of taking any ownership or even acknowledging the issue. It was a really poor way to handle a simple customer concern. Eventually, after some back and forth, the burger was remade, but I had to wait another 10-15 minutes. And ironically, it took longer to make it this time than it did after I placed the online order. But then now I wa stuck waiting defeating the whole purpose of ordering ahead. A manager eventually came over and was polite, but by that point the experience had already been frustrating. They also threw away the original burger instead of offering to let me keep it, which felt wasteful. On top of that, when I asked for a couple cups of water for my daughter, I was told I'd need to purchase a bottle, which felt pretty tone-deaf given the situation and didn't even think to offer me any anything for the misunderstanding and having to wait extra time now... The bigger issue here is the lack of coordination and communication. If you're going to quote customers a pickup time, especially for hot food, the order should be made accordingly--not immediately after it's placed. Otherwise, you're guaranteeing that the food won't be fresh when the customer arrives. Between the timing issue, the lack of ownership from staff, and the overall handling of the situation, this was a disappointing experience. I usually like the food, but the service and process today really need improvement.

I was in the North Hills/Mission Hills area and decided Mexican was going to be the meal of the day - and thanks to the trusty Yelp app: Tacos al Tijuanense was the winner to satisfy my hunger pang. If you are a longtime LA resident or born-and-raised within the city limits and can swear to Tacos al Tijuanense sounding familiar/remembering that it was a food truck... Then your memory doesn't deceive you. Tacos al Tijuanense birthed as a food truck in 1987 quickly gaining popularity for its smoked meats and Tijuana-inspired flavors serving tacos, vampiros, quesadillas, birria tacos, etc; loaded with fresh toppings and offering a variety of meats for the protein selection. The LA love for Tacos al Tijuanense caused such popularity that the food truck expanded into brick-and-mortar locations with several now spread throughout the city. The North Hills location of Tacos al Tijuanense holds real estate near the Woodly/Nordhoff intersection in a small strip plaza shopping center that seems half sleepy and half eyebrow-raising. But, as most of us know, the hidden gems are usual the best spots so don't be deterred by such businesses like the sketchy massage parlor next door. After browsing the menu, my boyfriend chose a Quesadilla (13" tortilla filled with protein of your choice, jack cheese, cilantro and salsa with my boyfriend picking chicken - $13) and a Vampiro (toasted corn tortilla layered with jack cheese, choice of meat, onions, cilantro and salsa with al pastor - $3). For my order, I also went with a Vampiro but with chicken while also ordering Nachos to share with carne asada. When our plates arrived, we were surprised to see the size of the portions. Everything at Tacos al Tijuanense is large and in charge and they most certainly do not skimp! The fillings are overflowing with bright, fresh ingredients, toppings are numerous and the size overall makes everything shareable. My Vampiro was crisp with delicious guacamole that added a refreshing element and tender, tasty chicken. My favorite was my boyfriend's Quesadilla which was gooey, warm and perfect. You can't go wrong with a quesadilla! But we have to talk about the nachos because these nachos are HUGE! This is party size and could generously feed three people. The carne asada was heavenly and the chips tasted homemade. The only slightly "meh" factor was that the cheese atop the nachos was canned cheese and we would have preferred melted shredded cheese. This wouldn't have been such an issue had the canned cheese been in a rational amount but it seemed like a Costco-sized can poured onto these chips! These nachos were hidden under cheese glop! Regardless, they were still delicious. Tacos al Tijuanense holds true to its almost 40-year-old fame with affordable prices, delicious food, large portions giving you a bang for your buck and a surprisingly inviting ambiance. Tacos al Tijuanense is definitely recommended and the North Hills location is much recommended despite its odd plaza placement.

I usually eat here once a month on a Friday. I order 4 classic burgers. Every time I eat my burger I'm transported to total bliss. The meat is perfectly cooked, hot, juicy, tender and perfectly seasoned. The guy working the grill ( think his name is Adan) is consistent and its well worth the money in my opinion. I even called this Fat Burger up and was like "Thank you for my delicious perfect burger." I love that the manager is always there and helping out and on top of things. We'll be coming back. I was driving around and suddenly I saw this new Fatburger opened in this area. I am so glad I made a stop, they have iced tea tower machine and I love it because I don't drink coke and other soda. I usually don't have time to leave reviews but I really felt leaving one for this new store. The food was beyond good and so fresh. Not as flavorful and juicy as it was last time I was here. The fries were abundant and well cooked, but excessively salty. Very disappointing that this place has slid into mediocracy. Plus, they need to update their website. Prices are way off and some items are no longer offered.

It was 95% unseasoned and undercooked potato. The only blast of flavor comes from the salsa packet on the side. Otherwise you're literally paying for potatoes in a tortilla. Open 44 years (as of 2025) and this place is still holding it down. Best part... The prices!! The single most expensive item on the menu is their chili fries with Pastrami or bacon at $15.53. Everything else; every burger, sandwich, burrito, are all way less and in today's economy, that is hard to find nowadays. Heck, you can even get a Steak Dinner with fries or steamed rice along with a dinner salad for: $12.79!!! Yeah let me spell it for ya... Twelve, Seventy-Nine!!! That. Is. Insanity. And I give this place props for keeping it real. And just to keep it in perspective... My burger that was grilled to order, on an open flame was $6.39, $7 dollars even with tax. Besides the peeps with the crossed palms trees and big 'ol Yellow arrow, where you gonna find yourself a hot, fresh, made-to-order burger for 7 bucks with tax... I'll wait. Besides Burgers, specialty sandwiches and all of the obvious sides you'd expect at a burger joint, word on the street is, Michael's also serves up a mean Hawaiian Loco Moco as well as a full breakfast menu in which I am definitely going to try in the near future. But the next time I roll through, I'm opting for a burger special with fries & a drink. Hell, I might even splurge and add cheese & bacon. The only downside to this place... No inside seating at all and only a few tables outdoors most of which are in the sun. So either get your order to go or bring a pair of shades with you so you aren't blinded by the sun while you take a bite of pure burger bliss. To another 44!!!

And the lady working there was nice! Nothing against staff. My sub came to a total of 17 bucks with a drink. Not the worst. The Food: This is where I was absolutely "hopes down"about the place. It was not Good. Possibly one of the lower tier cheesesteaks I've had. Again I don't like bashing a company but dang I really wanted to like this place. It was full of onions and the meat was bland. Unfortunately I won't be coming back for cheesesteaks here again. I didn't want to give a 1 star because the place was clean and the lady was nice.
