I checked out this restaurant while I was charging my car at the EvGo in the adjacent parking lot. Since it was around brunch time, I decided to have breakfast. I had the eggs Benedict with country-style potatoes with optional grilled peppers and onions. Both were delicious, and the potatoes were REALLY delicious! I think the next time I am going to order biscuits and gravy. For some reason I have a feeling that they will probably be exceptional like the country potatoes are. Of course that's dependent on the time of day, but they say that breakfast is served all day so who knows.. I do appreciate a good breakfast and Lumberjack's comes through. read more

The service was very sparse, couldn't keep up with coffee refills. When food came to the table it was 5 min after ordering it. The Eggs were cold, the potato's were cold. When advised that everything was cold. The waitress took the plate back to the cook. Brought it back out 10 min later, it was hot but you could see it was just microwaved. You could see the guacamole had the fork marks from me in it, from before she took it away. You can definitely tell that the food is pre-cooked and waiting under a heat lamp. I'm visiting my daughter from OC and wanted to grab some dinner. I found Lumberjacks on Yelp and decided to give them a try. They were so welcoming when I walked in and seated me right away. My waiter was awesome and very helpful as I asked for some recommendations. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich (I don't think that's the name of it but it's the only one they have) and also had a side salad. Everything was very fresh and arrived quickly. The sandwich was so good and came with lettuce, tomatoes and onion on the side. I called my daughter to tell her how good the food was and I ordered two more meals to go for her and her husband. They both ordered breakfast (which is served all day) and they loved it! I'll definitely go back again before I head home and highly recommend it! I took off one star as their prices are a little high, but they do have early dinner specials, which I missed by 15 minutes. My Garden Omelet was made wrong. There were sprinkles of bacons... if it just a stray piece, I'm cool about it and this review would have been a 4 star review. Food came slow. It was really noisy sitting close to the kitchen. Waitress was attentive. There were flexiglass between booths. I didn't notice the bacon until I reached closer to the center of my omelet. There was no avocado either. It's commendable that the waitress was accommodating, apologetic (not her fault, she's just the server) and offer if I want something else. The manager came to apologize and ask if I wanted something else. I didn't want anything else. I don't eat bacon. And, it was veggie omelette. They took off the item from our bill. Thank you, I do appreciate that. Just be more careful on what the orders were in the future. Juan ordered lumberjack slams and my kid got hot off the griddle. The chicken with gravy was a plenty and the pancakes my kid got- were gigantic. It was a pleasant breakfast for sure. Thought we go out dine in since last March of 2020. Come hungry! We chose this place based on two key factors. 1. It was on our list of restaurants we wanted to try 2. It was currently open with dine in service! Come hungry is an understatement. When you first walk in you will notice the cute Buffalo check tops that the waitstaff wears. I love that for them. It was an early Sunday morning after football tryouts when we visited. They do have one large TV in the dining room that had the current game on. I enjoyed this because it drew my husband's attention away from me during breakfast so I was free to shop online all morning without being noticed. Huge plates, pretty decent food. We haven't been to lumberjacks for what feels like eons. Most of their local restaurants have closed over the last few years, but the one in Citrus Heights is alive and well, and super busy for a weekend breakfast/brunch. The food was rather disappointing. There was nothing special about it, and frankly, I could have made better pancakes at home. Mine were rubbery and overcooked. The bacon was overdone, and for a side of bacon there was two slices and a little nubbin on the plate. Not worth the money. Service was what it was, especially based on how busy the restaurant was. I'm actually perplexed, but understand that this may be the only breakfast type place in the immediate area. Folks, just drive a mile or so in the opposite direction, and there are plenty of choices! What I find to be extremely perplexing, which is one of the reasons that I wanted to give lumberjacks another try, is that somehow they made it to the top 10 breakfast places in Sacramento. I'm not sure who voted for this, or why, because there are so many other places that definitely deserve to be on that list. Lumberjacks now is pretty equivalent to those other typical chain breakfast type places. If you decide to hit up lumberjacks, there's plenty of parking that is free, and when we were there, the wait was only 5 to 10 minutes before we were seated. read more

We visited Lumberjacks on 9/19/20 at 9:30 am during COVID when restaurants still aren't allowed to serve indoors. The hostess was friendly and all staff wore masks. Dressed a bit like lumberjacks, they took our name, with 3 parties ahead of us. We only waited 10 minutes and were called to a table set up in their parking lot. The tables were under a large canopy that looked professionally erected. The tables and the chairs were the same from inside the restaurant and looked like they were built from logs. At that time of the day, we were completely in the shade. Our server Yolanda was about as friendly as they come. She arrived within less than a minute to take our drink order - iced tea and large orange juice. Both arrived in large glasses. The tea is unsweetened and my husband said the orange juice was delicious. My husband ordered the big johns combo with a side of hash browns. I ordered the scramble, which comes with a choice of three ingredients and I chose cheddar, mushrooms and spinach. Both arrived in good time and were absolutely perfectly prepared and delicious. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and softer on the inside. The scramble was full of so many ingredients, I almost didn't notice the eggs. The big john's combo was terrific. The biscuits were soft, the gravy was delicious and well seasoned. My husband said "the sausage at Lumberjacks is on another level." He had a choice of link or patty sausage and he chose patties. I have had the links in the past and they are beyond delicious. The Service continued to be friendly and fun and on top of all of our needs, including offering to refill our drinks before they emptied. We also noted that when people vacated their tables, staff sprayed and wiped down everything. Overall, Lumberjack's pivoted perfectly in this COVID era and we are living for it! My daughter & I were craving breakfast and I remembered I haven't been to Lumber Jack's for years(and that it was amazing!) So, to my trusty Yelp app to find the address & directions! We pulled into a large parking lot and as we entered the front doors, the door handle(as you pull open) was an axe handle! The decor inside was country like. Servers dressed casually in jeans in a polo or flannel. Lanterns, wheels and such hanging above our heads. My daughter & I ordered a lighter breakfast. That was 2 eggs, hashbrowns, and a choice of toast.. I but we both upgraded to 1 flapjack and biscuit & gravy. I believe it was about $10.99 for each of our dishes... let me tell ya... I felt like the portions were huge, but 2 fried eggs and hashbrowns came out on one big plate, and 2 giant biscuits smothered in gravy on another! My daughter's was 2 scrambled eggs & hashbrowns on one plate and a big chocolate chip flap jack on the other!! It was the best breakfast anyone has made me in a long time! My daughter was so happy with everything. I'm not sure if her favorite part was the chocolate chip flap jack or the hashbrowns... crispy on the outside and hot and tender center.. I brought my family to visit this restaurant on Christmas day. We have made this a family tradition for several year. I'm sad to say we won't be back next year. We arrived at 245pm and were promptly seated. We all ordered the "Turkey Dinner" and drinks. The menu said the dinner came with soup or salad and pumpkin pie. All for $22.99, we asked Chris about the soup and he told us "oh you don't want that, it's cold and basically all broth with just a couple vegetables at the bottom", this is at 245pm, the restaurant was open for several more hours. We all chose the salad. After about 15 minutes, a large Hispanic man (not Chris) came to the table holding a tray and said, "6 senior Turkey dinners." We informed him this must be for another table, we didn't order off the "senior menu", half of our party wasn't even close to old enough to order off the senior menu and we haven't even gotten our salads. He then raised his voice and, with an argumentative tone said "well this is what you are getting" , he rudly put the plates on the table and walked away. We flagged down Chris, who told us, "The only difference is a half loaf of bread instead of a full loaf." I told him, "The menu says that the senior dinner comes with a smaller portion of turkey." He said flat "the menu is wrong." he then explained he wouldn't be taking it back, but if we wanted more bread, he would bring us the half loaf of bread and charge us full price. I was very irritated with the entire exchange, but let it go because we had family there, and causing a bigger scene by walking out wasn't going to make it any better. We ate our dinners (actually very good despite it being a small portion of Turkey). About 15 mins later, "Chris" returned with our salads. Salad after dinner is a new experience for me and not usually how you guys do it, but hey, at least we got our salads. Chris never filled any of our drinks and never checked on us at all. To be fair, the entire staff seemed to be overwhelmed with "to go orders." After another 15 minutes or so, Chris came with our bill. I asked him if we were going to get the pie that was included with the "Turkey Dinner," and he replied "oh you want that?" I explained that "yeah we kinda do, " and one of our parties also wanted to order the blackberry cobbler. 10 minutes later, Chris came back with 6 of the tiniest pieces of pumpkin pie you ever saw on these little tiny styrofoam plates! Seriously, it was comically small, i dont even know where or why you would get one of these plates. *Pictures attached in this review, Yes that is a sugar packet next to it for size reference. It seriously looked like one piece of pie cut into 6, the pictures don't even due justice for just how small it was. He also never brought the blackberry cobbler. Is it weird that I only wanted to come here for so long because of the giant lumberjack outside? I love places with theme. Decor and staff uniform comply with the lumberjack theme. It feels very masculine (even the menu says "Where the big boys eat"...which...I could do without) and has a couple tvs playing football. They sell bottled beer, mimosas, and bloody marys. I ordered the Egg Benedict with the sauce on the side and hash browns. Anthony got The Axe Man plate, three silver dollar pancakes, two pieces of french toast, bacon, and eggs. We both got coffee in a big heavy mug that keeps the coffee hot! Loved this cup. The food was good, no complaints. The coffee was amazing, lots praise. The service was good as well, except for the long wait to get the coffee initially. The price is more expensive than other places that are similar in food quality. They were cooked perfectly...and there was a coating on them that was so good. My friend ordered the ultimate ribeye steak 22.99. It comes with a mini loaf of bread...a side and the steak covered with grilled onions...mushrooms...and roasted garlic. The steak was good..but was so thin...it certainly was not worth 22.00. It was maybe 6 Oz of meat. They cooked it correctly...the onions and mushrooms were good...but it was very very thin. However, no matter what time of year the dining area is very cold and the music is so loud it's hard to hold a conversation. When asked if temperature and volume could be adjusted for comfort, several servers have told us that "Corporate" won't allow the staff to make any adjustments.
