Absolutely incredible experience! 8 friends and I went for my 21st birthday and even though it was the night before Thanksgiving and they were a little understaffed they really made sure that that didn't affect our experience at all. We have seriously found our new dating place to go to as well as family get together. My aunt came here for her work Christmas party and rec this for my bach weekend. When we got here we were told the my MOH only had to pay for her and myself. And then the rest would be charge when we got there. But when we got there they charged her whole amount that day when they told us it was only for the two of us. Not sure what needed up happening bec I wasn't in that part of the convo but other then that we all seriously had a great experience! What a fun and different thing to do! Went with a group from our gym and had a great time. Our "host" was fun and kept the group engaged. We also loved the tournament style play - great bragging rights for the winner. I was a little worried that this would be something that required man strength or crazy skill, but was relieved to find out it's relatively easy. Turns out I'm actually way better at axe throwing than darts lol. Pretty cool that you can bring your own food and drink too. Would be great place to celebrate a bday or get the family together. Keep in mind that if you want to BYOB, you'll need to wait until after 4pm to drink (check with the staff to be sure, think that's what I heard though). read more

Staff members are super nice and patient. They will teach you for the first 10 mins basic throwing. They did come and check on us a couple of times and give us pointers. Checked this place out for a birthday gathering. Everyone in our group had a great time whether or not they could stick the axe. The staff here are cool, and the BYOB after 4pm makes for a good time. (NO minors after 4pm) One recommendation if your group is 12 or larger reserve 4 lanes in advance. When our party of 12 started we only had two lanes, but a group next to us finished up and management let us take the additional lanes. Lastly you can buy water, snacks and soda and they don't over charge! Plus I heard something about ordering pizza from nearby restaurant, but we already had dinner plans for afterwards so not sure on the specifics. I can honestly say (like many others I'm sure) that I had never thrown an axe before I spent an afternoon at LumberjAxes! Very interesting, but fun experience nonetheless. My team at work had a team bonding/outing at LumberjAxes --definitely a fun spot for big groups. We were divided into small groups and were instructed how to throw the axe before we had a few mini competitions! They let you bring in your own food and control the music played over the loud speaker, so that was a nice bonus! The instructors were pretty helpful too. I've never experienced Ax throwing until I came to lumberjaxes. I didn't even know it was a thing until my friend wanted to try this. It was fun and very competitive. You're there for a good 2 1/2 hour experience. It's only fun if you come with a group of people. At the beginning, you are given lessons on throwing techniques and the workers will allow you time to practice. Then they put you in competition mode and pair you with people in your group to compete. As you're waiting, there are benches in your area where you could sit and have some drinks. You're allowed to bring 40oz of alcoholic beverages per person and other non-alcoholic drinks in a cooler. They have some snacks you could purchase there as well if you get hungry. Overall, it was a good experience that I think everyone should try at least once. read more

Unique & fun activity. We went on a Sunday for walk in hours. The trainer gave us some tips and showed us how to throw the axes. We spent an hour trying some different techniques. We rented a lane on a Wednesday for 7 guys. None of us had done it before. They opened it up for us and we were the only ones there. We had an ax coach.... a guy who looked like gentle Paul Bunyan. He was very patient with us and gave great instruction and coordinated our competition. We had a blast. It was great that you can bring in your own food and drink.
