Yesterday I went to the Lummi Seafood Market at the Lummi Te'Ti'Sen Center near Ferndale WA exit 260 off the I-5. I was greeted so warmly and had the honor of meeting Paul and George. I shared with them that I was purchasing a special treat for my best friend who recently had a tumor from her head. I was watching salmon be fileted right before my eyes. I purchased king salmon freshly harvested by generational Lummi fisherman. Today I traveled to cook this for my friend as she recovers. Embarrassing as it is I called in to ask the best method to cook the salmon and how to tell if it's done. Over the phone I was instructed by a very friendly employee. And what do you know!? The market has a pintrest! My friend and I extend our gratitude for this salmon. There's just something I can't put into words knowing that this harvest is being used for healing. BUYER BEWARE - Owner Terry Phair took my payment, never shipped my order, and failed to respond to multiple requests for a refund via voicemail, txt, email and customer inquiry tickets on his website / I even offered to drive 2 hours to pick up my product in person / See details below. I ordered salmon roe from Lummi Seafood Market on May 25, 2026. My credit card was charged immediately for the product and shipping, but the order never shipped and remained in "Confirmed" status. I made numerous attempts to contact the business by phone, email, and text to obtain an update and after several day/ weeks, I later requested cancellation. I never received a response. After weeks without shipment or communication, I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company to recover my money. Unfortunately, this was a very frustrating experience. It's a long drive from Seattle but we came back with a whole bunch of great looking delicacies. Some of my all time favorite seafood in one stop. Fresh king salmon, super fresh spotted shrimp, halibut cheeks and ikura (salmon roe). Yeah baby! We'll be back for sure. I was tempted to try the fish-n-chips next door but a worker there was looking at me like he suspected I was going to rob him or something so we went elsewhere. read more

I'm a newbie to Washington from California, and as a Native from down south it was a breath of fresh air to walk in an Indigenous market! I was welcomed with a smile from a sweet man named Paul! The selection was enormous to me and high quality for sure. Even though it was my first time, I am familiar with seafood living in SoCal and going to San Pedro where fish is king. The wonderful thing here is that the water is cleaner than there. So I bought Halibut, scallops, and dungenous crab, and Lumni fish market DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! Halibut was fluffy and fresh, scallops cooked to perfection, because it was fresh it DOES NOT TASTE LIKE RUBBER! Crab was juicy and delicious!!! I love buying local and supporting Indigenous business not only because I am indigenous myself, but I can stand behind a product like this 100%!!!! So I told Paul, he was differently gonna see me again! You can have your red lobster, fish and chips seconds You will find me at Lumni fish Market!!! 10 stars!!! I understand that everything especially eggs are expensive now a days but for all I bought it really wasn't because if I would have ordered at a restaurant only one crab each plus fish and scallops, I would've paid the same!!! So I don't think it is that expensive when your typical dinner for two is about $100 I know we are going to have these dishes for more meals! As a aquatic biologist coloration of crab meat is influenced by species characteristics and pigments present in their shells or claws, and the color of crab meat is influenced more by the species and its diet rather than solely by the depth at which it lives, but it does contribute. So to answer some crabbers that is why. To say someone actual lied is preposterous to say the least, and an exaggeration. So in other words we should be taking care of the environment of our streams, rivers, and oceans so that doesn't reflect in our food and thats every one's job! read more

just paid $43.74 for 1 crab... not the exceptional crabs in November. I was shocked. Nice crab but not the same weight when I got home. I probably won't go back even tho I have been buying my crabs there. Last bunch of crabs I purchased I had one crab that had blue meat.... the woman said they are deeper crabs who don't get sunlight... I grew up picking up crabs by the gunny sack full at Birch Bay. Don't try to lie to a foot crabber. Anyway the sad part of this story is I will never stop there again and I have told so many of my friends about the market... so sorry they have become so expensive and not up to caring about their product.... They are proud of their quality and selection. They also have a unique selection of tasty and unique products.
