This is my go-to spot when I'm in town. The food is delicious if you're in the mood for comfort/diner food.

Check out this family friendly diner. Great menu, especially for breakfast and burgers. The Ball Park fries were every bit as good as they sounded, garlicky and decadent. My sisters burger looked great, my sandwich was good, but I like my ball tip more on the rare side and they griddles it done. Still tender and tasty, but would not get that again. Service was excellent, there is a nice sidewalk patio for warm days. I plan to go back for sure. read more

Not a healthy stop for lunch but I ordered the BLT and it was pretty good. They also have a veggie burger option that I haven't tried yet. My husband got the fried chicken sandwich. I wasn't that excited about the quality of the chicken but it is a diner and it was cheap. I am super curious about the frick... the fried pickle sticks. Maybe next time. Also a fan of the packaging. Everything was wrapped/came in paper. My BLT was wrapped perfectly stroking my OCD. Thanks to who ever wrapped it. I would go back but I would pay more for higher quality ingredients. read more

The breakfast is very tasty, plentiful and inexpensive! Since my schedule is hectic, I have never had the opportunity to sit down and eat; but the take out service is efficient and the people are cordial. I strongly recommend the breakfast and if you are in a hurry and want something good, Lumpy's is the place to dine. read more

Had breakfast here.. First thing we did was order coffee.. The waitress forgot and we didn't get it until after our food was served.. She disappeared until the food came so we couldn't even ask her for the coffee..The hash browns were mushy and tasted like old grease.. Bathrooms were dirty and had no toilet paper or paper towels.. Little upset I ordered the ribeye and eggs, cinnamon roll, and breakfast sandwich with ham. Everything was great until I started to eat the ribeye, absolutely disgusted it tasted like some one soaked it in vinegar the most sour awful steak I've ever had EVER. And I've had s lot of steaks in my life. The cinnamon roll was awesome along with the sandwich. Shame I was looking forward to that breakfast. read more

Well.....I have been here three to four times.....on 11/17/15 at around 7:30 am the food was not horrible but not restaurant quality......my food I cook at home tastes better.....my bacon looked burnt.....I sent it back and the replacement looked just as bad....I had the French Toast.....first time I had it.....it was bomb....but the last two times were bad.....and this last time was sad.....I had a scramble to go once that was hella greasy......sorry but I work to hard for my money to waste it here....... read more

Came here for lunch to try it out. I've never been and wasn't sure what to expect. I looked over the menu and didn't want something heavy. I saw fish and chips and went why not? The fish and chips arrived in a basket. There were 3 pieces of fish and the rest of the basket was chips/fries. I tried a couple of fries and went it's meh. Nothing special. Not crunchy or crispy. Average. The fish was done perfectly. Crispy and moist. It would have been four stars, but their fires just weren't that great. I'd go back and try something else. Something that caught my eye was "rapture" on the menu. I did go to their website and honestly, they need to just make it html and not flash. You can't really read everything and it moves makes for a bad combination. read more

My parents were visiting from Washington and i wanted to take them to breakfast so i thought Lumpy's was a good spot and I had been a few times before with good experiences. I'm not usually a yelp poster but I figured a place like this deserves it because they are consistently good with food and service, however what really did it was this trip with my visiting parents. I get embarrassed sometimes with my dads little "special requests" when he orders and as usual he didn't disappoint. Our food arrived quickly just as we had ordered it, special requests and all. Our waitress was super sweet and accommodating and even my picky dad loved his food. I ordered a To go breakfast sandwich for my friend abd he just kept raving " where did you get this" he even tried to pay me $10 for the $3.99 sandwich because he was sure it cost that much with the size and quality. Lumpy's is a great local diner and you can feel good eating there and supporting your local business while getting a great breakfast and even better service. I can't wait to go back and try lunch :) if you are like me and wonder where customer service has gone you will be pleasantly surprised. There aren't many of these place left anymore I promise it will be your new favorite spot. read more

This place used to be really hit and miss, but since new ownership is running it, the quality has gotten a lot better. The menu hasn't changed, so I'll admit that my perception may just be skewed. The nacho cheese cajun fries are delicious, the burgers are all delicious and juicy (I recommend the Fiesta Burger and the F'N'K Burger). The Ballpark Fries were a little disappointing; they lacked salt and the garlic didn't taste very garlic-y. Also, ordering a la carte was initially annoying until I starting getting savvy about not over-ordering. Portions are generous. Over all, the friendly service and tasty food are worth coming back for (don't forget $2 beer). They also offer "big appetite" challenges for $35, offering a t-shirt and "Wall of Fame" reward. Great food. Great people. Great environment!! What more can I say? I've been here about five times now and have had a great experience every time. Only one time did they goof an order (just asked for no onions are is all) and it was quickly fixed which was awesome. I usually only go for breakfast, but tonight I'm trying dinner. Never been a lumpys fan but the coworkers wanted it so hey. I had the bland chicken fried omelette with the hard and burnt hash browns with the burnt toast. My coworker had the burnt sausage with also the hard hash browns. Only good thing about this visit was the customer service. Sad sad sad! I hope they get better for the community of Pittsburg. This was a great place to travel from Brentwood to, for a breakfast- Ribeye Steak and eggs. Unfortunately, the cooks have forgotten that cooking food is an Art that demands it's time. The restaurant was busy, so the cooks shortened cooking time for my desired medium rare steak. I was served a rare steak that was cool to the touch inside, and the fat looked completely raw. My girlfriend 's bacon was more than 50% raw. This is a shame, as I wont take a chance at Lumpy's again. This ain't baseball - - two strikes.... you're out!! read more

Let's be real. I've been here a handful (or more) times and at least 1/2 of that time i've had something crappy. I love the idea of this diner but the food sometimes just isnt that good. Taco salad aka 'throw a bunch of mexican stuff on tortilla chips' wasnt worth paying for. Recently, my husband loves blueberries so we order the shake....found out they use syrup (not any real fruit) & really, it tastes like crap. Fries, desert, breakfast...thats pretty good. Haven't tried their burgers yet, which is what they're suppose to be known for so thats still on my list. This diner is If your starving & wanna give it a shot. read more

Weighed myself this morning and lost a few pounds. That means for lunch I can come here! Ordered chicken fried steak and hash browns with country gravy. With great service and a giant cup of coffee, I was happy with my giant tasty portion. I love how I can have breakfast for lunch. All my co workers were happy with their orders too. Ate a the brentwood location the place is dirty and the food was greasy. Vowed to never return. A co worker told me the location in pittsburgh eas good. She was correct had a great breakfast good service food was hot and prepared well. Didnt like that my waitress put a ppasric cup of syrup on top of my eggs but other than that it was good. read more

The service here was quick and attentive, though it probably helps that I came in on the middle of the day on a Monday, but nonetheless the server I was dealing with was awesome. The food was outstanding, when going into a diner you should know what to expect. The food far exceeded my expectations! As a side note and a total plus, my server was really attractive and really fit the aura and appeal that the decor of the establishment had in place.
