Excellent food! The outdoor dining area has lots of heat lamps and is right on the water with views of the bay and SF. The indoor seating is very limited. Don't wait until the last minute to make reservations as they book up quickly on the weekends. read more

We celebrated my husbands birthday here. Crystal greeted us at the door and welcomed us. She was very genuine and made us feel like we were family. We had a great table and were seated next to the water with a great view of looking towards SF. The food was fantastic and we had a great feast, the calamari was exquisite and probably one of the best I ever had. Tiburon is a wonderful place and we definitely recommend this restaurant for all who are looking to escape the business of the city for a romantic and relaxing evening. read more

I only came for lunch and only had the portobello sandwich. It was ok but not stellar for a place like this I would expect something more than average. The patio vibes were really great and that is why I'm giving it 3 stars and for the fact that I might give it a different rating if I had dinner. Lastly the service was very slow. We had to finally find someone to take our order because nobody ever did. Nobody ever came to refill water or my iced tea. I know it's Covid but that was just way too slow for this kind of place. read more

This is my first yelp review. I'm writing it because this is the absolute worst dining experience I've had over the past five years living in the Bay Area. We made a reservation for a birthday celebration dinner for tonight. We asked for a good outside seating and a birthday cake/dessert. The waitress kindly agreed with our request and said everything would be taken care of. In fact, she even promised us to give us the best seating they have. When we went there tonight at the appointed time, they told us all outside seating was taken so they gave us a corner desk inside with no view instead. I told them about our reservation and they said our reservation didn't say anything about outside seating or birthday celebration. The whole time they treated me like I was making it all up. Meanwhile, I saw an older couple requesting to be moved from inside to outside seating because they liked the view outside better and they happily granted them. Not a word of apology or barely any willingness/attempt to help clarify things or make things better. Later we had to speak with the manager and they finally moved us to a corner outside sitting with heavily obstructed view, but by that point it's too little and too late. We didn't drive all the way from Fremont to be treated like this. By far the worst dining experience we've ever had. Food was decent though. PS: I updated the review after communicating directly with the business owner and they offered me a refund for this. I can see their dedication to provide the best experience for their customers and would be willing to give it another shot in future occasion. read more

Oh. My. Goodness. My husband and I stumbled onto this little gem walking through the adorable town of Tiburon last night. We were hungry looking in one restaurants windows when I turned my head and saw the blue lit sign of Luna Blu. I was intrigued and thank goodness I was! Everything about this dining experience was a true delight, so much so that we dined there again tonight. The patio area is covered to keep the chill of the crisp winter air out. Heat lamps are throughout to keep you just warm enough to enjoy your dinner comfortably. And dinner!... we had the filet mignon meatballs both nights. Tender, meaty flavor a zingy marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese stringing all over. The garlic sautéed spinach... get it! Buttery, garlic goodness. But the real star, the Tagliolini al granchio! Nothing beats the perfect homemade pasta. Perfectly cooked with the right amount of chew met with the most delectable bites of Dungeness crab and creamy achampagne sauce with bits of garlic mixed in. Yep! So good I had that both nights too. I could keep going on and on but bottom line, eat here! You will not being disappointed. Great drinks, relaxing environment, unbelievable food, oh... and service! It's all great. Just go. Don't waste your time and money. Bad food. Overpriced. Some very rude wait staff with no concern for diners' needs. Only 2 staff were hospitable and helpful...a woman who greets/seats diners and one wait person who well understood that when a diner orders a meal then it should be a meal and not a skimpy "snack" of small size and HUGE price and that no diner should be told that's what everyone gets, basically saying "Too bad for you". BTW, should a person with a "snack" (or anyone for that matter) have to pay $1 for a ciabatta role? Total rip-off restaurant with the ambiance of "who cares about diners". My wife and I came here for our 12th anniversary, The food and service was excellent, we had the prosciutto and melon appetizer with the ahi tuna appetizer both were amazing, the ambiance in the restaurant was very nice we were sat in a booth with a rounded seat so my wife and I could sit next to each other. I then had the ceaser salad with large shavings of Parm it was . My wife had the Chopinno and I had the linguini with clams both were very good. Nice little restaurant but pretty pricey, especially considering the small portions they have. Servers are rude and unfriendly. We went there on our Anniversary because of the amazing Yelp they have but were disappointed with both their food and their service. We ordered Calamari & Zucchini for the appetizer and it was good. Their Risotto was good too but their Linguine Alle Vongole Pasta was terribly done. We asked them to sub clams for prawns and they charged us $5 extra for that! No issues, but it tasted terrible. We informed the server so he offered free Tiramisu (worth $8). Again it was our Anniversary so we didn't want to spoil the mood so we just paid and left. read more

It was fine but for the price point I'm looking for deliciousness. The burrata was the closest we got to 5-star. Calamari was good too. I ordered the bolognese pasta was pretty good and the steak was under seasoned but masked by a cheesy sauce. The most offensive of the night, which brought down the average, were the drinks. They were watered down and no effort was spent in making them look appealing. When you're paying $14-$16 per cocktail, I expect something more elevated than a piece of wilted mint in a drink. I recommend sticking to wine for anyone looking for libations. We ordered the cannoli for dessert which was nice. I'd go back if I'm in the area but that's not likely and not really worth a special trip. Edit: To clarify, we ordered four different cocktails and they were the presented the same plus underwhelming in taste. Just a note for the bar and not expecting a refund. read more

Fantastic! Nice choices, great quality and excellent value. We had a crab bisque that exceeded our expectations, Caesar salad, we look forward to try some of their appetizers. Entrees, she had a perfect filet while I enjoyed halibut accompanied with fresh spinach and other side orders. Highly recommend. Even though we reside close by a few blocks away, we regret not trying Luna Blu earlier than now. The layout of the restaurant is rather narrow with some inside seating available and a bit more for outside. The service was above average, especially with how quickly the food came out. The 5 th star would be earned when the server knows to provide an ice bucket (we saw several not being used near our table) for our bottle of white wine and is able to engage a bit more. read more

Wow. What a charming and perfectly appointed TINY gem. Make a reservation, as it is packed and popular, but we were never rushed and had great service. Seating outside should be perfectly warm, as there are many heaters, people, and clear plastic canvas where walls might otherwise be, allowing views and protection. But we were seated just inside with a view of the dining outdoor deck. We started with subtley seasoned meatballs. The sauce was light and bright the meat tender. I prefer a deeper rich sauce, but my husband loved these. Our main course arrived. My husband enjoyed a divine beat pasta with a white sauce and crab. This pasta was truly amazing...order pasta if you go...it reminded us of pasta in Italy! I ordered Mediterranean Sea Bass, beautifully seasoned. Be aware...this is not Chilean Sea bass (or what we call sea bass), but a smaller thin light fish. My order came with a side, and I ordered the brussel sprouts with pancetta, but was brought a sauteed spinach which was corrected. The brussel sprouts were ok, and even my husband said they were too salty. They new it was our anniversary and brought over a divine chocolate mousse cake with white chocolate frosting, "on the house", but they charged us. I had my heart set on poached pears qith icecream, so this was a bit of a bummer, as we were too full to order more, and then were charged for an item that was to be a gift. Very disappointing meal, especially considering generally good reviews. TLDR: overpriced mediocre food Cocktail - pretty terrible old fashioned, on par with something you'd get at a Ruby Tuesday's, not somewhere with $30 entrees. Wine - decent wine list, reasonable prices for the area Apps - prusciutto was dry, like it had been pre-sliced and left out. The Panzanella had very few croutons, and they were very clearly store bought. Entrees - $41 for a bland Chilean sea bass was the nail in the coffin. Just a boring "special". Other entree we got was a squid ink pasta with baby octopus, which was the best thing that we got. When asked if I wanted cheese or pepper on the pasta, I said sure for some parmesan. What they brought was very clearly store bought pre-grated cheese, like dry Kraft parmesan. Service was generally fine, but nothing to write home about. read more

It seemed like they were under staffed which is understandable considering I'm a restaurant manager myself but we didn't get greated and didnt have water on our table till about 15-20 min after we sat. I would definitely go back to Tiburon specifically for the food at Luna Blu. Service was great, all social distancing and Covid guidelines were being implemented. 2/4/2016 1-Star Oops- seems to be a problem tonight. We just walked out. We waited 45 minutes for a table on the patio. Sat at 6:25pm. At 6:30pm they closed the covers on the patio so we had no view. Then sat 15 minutes without any service, so we left and are now seated at Don Antonio's down the street. We had a great experience here in 2016, but now we walked out. Genuinely surprised by the positive reviews for this place. Our seat requested was taken by another party by the time we arrived. Waited 30 extra minutes before getting the table and then another hour before getting any food. Drinks came out too quickly and of course they were straight alcohol, no flavor. Keep in mind all the food and drink are pricey! Lost appetite waiting for the entree as the waitress rarely checked in with my partner and I. TWO hours sitting for barely getting any food or service, horrible experience. Would not recommend to anyone. Only redeeming quality of the place is the outdoor seating. read more

What a disappointment. We have liked this Restaurant in the past but will not be going back, though the ravioli and the server were great. BUT... we checked in for our Anniversary Dinner (yes, they knew of this occasion) and they told us we had to be out of our table in an hour and a half. We almost did not stay, but where else to go after securing parking, etc... This is a restaurant where you'd better just go to eat, not dine. The waiter asked if we wanted dessert and we had to ask him how many minutes we had left at the table. He said 10, but that he could rush the dessert. Doesn't that sound like a fun way to celebrate your anniversary? We did not have TIME for dessert! Overpriced food AND turn'em and burn'em.... Went there with some friends, food was OK... though overrated by the locals. The experience was fairly run of the mill for pasta and sauce. But the real difference is when I went with coworkers... let's just say that a mixed group was not greeted with the same common courtesy.
