We came upon this place via google search. Seems Yelp is not the preferred so had to add it here.
We were quickly seated, we thought it would be in the front area which is not air conditioned and near the kitchen. We were ushered through two other seating areas, through a door in the back. Every customer that went through the door had an audible sigh of relief. We were pleasantly surprised. It is not a large space and there is a bar on the left with a TV looping a video of a bartender preparing drinks (strangely mesmerizing) but the air conditioner is on and for an out of towner who was already hot walking around Old San Juan, this was like we entered heaven.
Hubby and I ordered specialty coffee drinks, the dulcito de coco and flamboyan. Both delicious! We started with the plantain croquettes montadinos. The menu said 3 units but 1 large one was served. The inside is a little denser than I would have liked but it was still delicious. Maybe my favorite dish ordered. We were with another couple so of course we over ordered to try more dishes. We also had the ham, cheese & egg mallorcas, quesito molten pancakes and sandwich de pernil.
It was a nice place for a lunch break, out of the sun in Old San Juan. read more
