I had the gyro wrap with a pink lemonade. The gyro was fantastic. I don't know how they do it so good. The prices are great and you get more than what you pay for. And the pink lemonade was delish. UPDATE: we went there a few days ago....My son specifically said he wanted to go to Luna Grill for their "Yellow Rice", and I wanted to go for their Lemon Chicken Soup...... We order and turns out they NO LONGER HAVE the "yellow Mediterranean saffron rice". They replaced it w/ plain old basmati rice!!!!! And the "Lemon Chicken Soup" was not on the menu anymore (it says, "Seasonal Soup" now.) And they had tomato basil or something. Sooooooooo totally disappointed! Went there today for the 2nd time in a few months. Got the same thing, the Mediterranean Salad w/ Chicken. Same thing happened..... Chicken was awesome. CousCous was great. But there were a few pieces of not so great lettuce thrown in there, tomatoes were a bit "soft", and the worst both times were the cucumbers.....DEFINITELY NOT FRESH from today! They were kind of soft and mushy. A huge pet-peave of mine! So, needless to say, I'll go back to the great standards next time. I tried Luna Grill when my company had them catered and they were good! So when I tried eating at the restaurant I was letdown. I had the pita gyro and it was so greasy! it was dripping grease and the pita was soggy. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Very disappointed in one of their new wraps. Tried the Apple, Walnut, Chicken, kale wrap, the amount of chicken would have fit in a thimble. 75% of the wrap was kale, whole apple slices that all laid together on one side of the wrap. I ordered for pick up and the food was great! The dishes i got were amazing! The only feedback I have is that it took a while for my food to be done. Also the staff there did not call our my name when my food was ready. It was placed on the counter by the girl who I spoke with about my order when I arrived but she did not mention to say it was mine. I was standing in the lobby 10ft from the counter. After placing the food on the counter she proceeded to hang out with her co worker and chat it up. I had to go up to the counter 5 min later to find out that was my food. I tried the Luna Grill yesterday, for a late lunch. I ordered the lamb kabob plate, substituting the Greek salad for the house salad. And Pomegranate Lemonade. With 15% tip, this came to $24.41. The good things were the Pomegranate lemonade, although pretty sweet, it was good. The salad was good, but underdressed. Roasted chickpeas a delightful surprise. Difficult to cut the salad on the plate, even though the plate was large, whole lettuce leaves. Now, unless "Halal" lamb tastes like beef, I'm pretty sure that was not Lamb. Lamb has a distinctive taste and smell, this tasted like beef, even if it was marinated. If I am wrong and it was lamb, no need to pay for lamb, just order the beef, it tastes the same. Service was very good, and the patio seating was very nice. read more

I love a decent and healthy fast food place and I know this isn't really considered fast food but it's pretty quick. You stand in line to order your food, get seated to wait for your food and less than 10 minutes, you get your food to enjoy. Seems fast food to me! I think I was Greek/Mediterranean in my past life, that or my husband has really rubbed off on me because i can eat the food everyday. I like the lamb kabobs and the chicken kabob with gyro plate. When I ordered a chicken wrap not only do you have to get fries or a salad with it Or pay the same price as if getting just the sandwhich... I told the person at the register to sub out the yogurt sauce for hummus because i dont eat dairy, which she laughed. I got my food and it came with the yogurt sauce on the side and inside my wrap. I paid 14 dollars and they couldnt even listen to my order correctly. If I was allergic to dairy it could have been a fatal mistake. I ordered the chicken and gyros plate (as pictured in this review). The chicken was very moist and juicy. The rice was well-flavored. I actually finished the entire plate, and I promise you, that RARELY happens. My best friend inhaled her apple walnut salad. Don't worry, we weren't actually that hungry prior to, so you can assume that we are fatties, but also that the food was DELICIOUS. Food was on the pricier side, but def worth it. read more

Came here for dinner on a beautiful day with my mom. First off, this place is super cute; love the modern med decor. The spoon & fork chandeliers add a nice urban touch. I was especially driving by the red chairs offered for seating in the dining room; red is such a powerful color. Not sure why, but they had the air conditioning on 0° and freezing. This is probably the reason most patrons were seated outdoors where was actually warmer. The service was super friendly. I always enjoy dining at a new establishment where customer service is obviously one of their highest priorities. They definitely hit the mark here. We ordered one chicken kebab entrée, one chicken and sirloin entree, and one mahi-mahi kebab entree. Everything was good, but not mind blowing. The chicken kebab and sirloin kebab seemed a tad dry, but dipped well in the cucumber sauce. The entrée as a whole could've been seasoned better. Given that this is a new establishment, I'll attributethis to their "pots not being seasoned yet". Perhaps they just need more time to break everything in. We ordered: Sampler Platter (Vegan) Four rounds of falafel, four stuffed grape leaves, couscous medley, hummus and pita bread. Veggie Kabob (Vegan) Grilled marinated button mushrooms, yellow squash, onion and bell pepper. With a side of regular hummus Lamb Tenderloin Kabob Plate Everything was really good! My husband loved his plate and I loved that the veggies weren't oily and that it had the squash AND the mushroom We both agreed that the rice was kind of bland but that was minor compared to the rest of the food. I've been wanting to try this place since it opened and I have no idea why I waited this long!!! Met a friend for dinner here and we both absolutely fell in love. We went in around 8pm and they usually close at 9 so it wasn't as busy. We were greeted as soon we walked in, always a plus! The layout of the restaurant was great, plenty of tables-outdoor seating available too, and the hanging lights were my favorite! I loved the idea of the hanging silverware on each light fixture, so cool. I ordered the chicken kabob plate, priced at a good $10.95 and it was delicious. It's a very big helping by the way-my friend and I shared the plate and we still had some leftover. The chicken was perfectly cooked and well flavored, the salad had an awesome dressing that I couldn't have enough of, and the pita bread was just so good!!! My friend ordered the Greek salad and she loved it. You have the option of adding a protein at an extra cost but she didn't-it worked out since I had a ton of chicken. They have a self serve soda machine, and a raspberry lemonade that was so fresh and delicious-paired well with my meal, wasn't overpowering at all. Nikola was our cashier and warmly greeted us upon arrival. First time here so wasn't quite sure what to get. I wasn't starving by any means but I was ready for something filling and healthy. I got the gyros meat and a small house salad and he even offered to let me try some of the spicy feta. It was delicious! My mom got the lemon and chicken soup and both our plates came with three pita wedges that were warm and nicely toasted. Food took about 5-10 minutes- it always seems longer when you're hungry! Gave us free water cups, too. Great amount of food for what I paid. Great first impression! Will definitely be back! Pros: outdoor seating, TV inside if you wanted to catch a game and grab healthier food, bike parking nearby, right outside of the mall, near movie theatre, fresh/warm food, salad veggies were crisp, clean and perfect! This location is brand new,very modern and clean. Its in the parking lot of the mall next to the new theatre. Great addition because this mall is lacking in good eats. I ordered the Greek salad and it came with the normal accoutrements: feta, red onion, cucumber, kalamata olives, and pepperoncini. They forgot the peppers so I had to go up and ask for them. The salad was $9. Then it's an extra $4 for a protein. A bit overpriced for the portion size. It was fresh and had good flavor though. Who knows, maybe these leaves of lettuce were grown with Fiji water and handpicked by high paid executives but its probably just an overpriced salad for no reason. A scrumptious and most-welcomed addition to the ever-lacking northern Carlsbad region. I've been to three Luna Grill locations spread about San Diego County and this will be the fourth under my belt (or in my belly). They all have exhibited caring service and an attentive staff even during their busiest of times. This location is no different and we were very well taken care of. I'm a big fan of four key things here: chicken kabob, gyros, apple walnut salad and the regular hummus. All of these items have been made to perfection at each location including this one! We started off our visit with regular hummus which comes with 12 triangles of fresh, warm pita bread ($4.50). I just love their hummus. It's delicious and straight to the point. It came very quickly to our table and our entrees came perfectly timed after we had finished the hummus. For our main lunch we ordered the chicken kabob and gyro combo dinner plate ($14) and it was a very large portion--had to split it equally with my mom. We also got the apple walnut salad ($9) just because my mom had never eaten at a LG location and she wanted to try more items. They were both off the chain! Expectations met for both of us and more. I recommend this place to anyone familiar with Greek food along with anyone wanting to delve into Greek cuisine because they will not be disappointed. Enjoy! read more

Welcome to the Westfield Carlsbad plaza! They are the first in the chain of the renovation and are a nice touch. I don't know why but I love that they pour your wine and make you feel fancier then you are eating. It is fairly noisy but you have to remind yourself that this is fast service dining. It is okay. So glad to see that Luna Grill opened right next to the new Regal movie theater. It is a great place to enjoy a delicious meal or cold beer before watching a movie next door. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated, you have the choice to sit indoors or outside on their patio. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We shared the falafel appetizer which was very tasty. I ordered the chicken kabob plate which was delicious, everything tasted fresh and had just the right seasoning. The entree portions are very generous and the prices are very reasonable. I also had one of the beers they had on tap, it had the right temperature and tasted great. This has become the new fav for whenever we want good Mediterranean food. I stopped by to do a take -out and have to say that (that) night they weren't up to the norm. Though the restaurant was probably about a quarter filled - I waited 25 minutes for a 2 entree order. I will mention that the counter staff was (as always) polite, professional and efficient - somehow the kitchen staff were not. I got home to find that we were missing 4 items from the order. Though I wasn't going to drive all the way back to the restaurant - shame on them for not checking the order in the kitchen. Now I'm going to have to check if I ever order take away again. read more

I love Luna Grill typically. Great, easy food. This review is ONLY for the Luna Grill in the Shoppes at Carlsbad. The food is fine, however this location definitely skimps on the toppings they give you in salads compared to other locations. And nearly every time I order food to go, they mess something up. It's now happened over 7 times so I thought I'd leave a review about it. They often tend to forget to include the dressings to salads or the sauces that go with entrees. Also, they are so slow compared to other locations. Needless to say, not my favorite Luna Grill by any means but unfortunately it's right by my house. But every time I try to give them a chance here, they let me down. They need to step it up at this location! read more
