Most Luna Grills are organized and well run. The one in Encinitas is not. I don't have enough space to list all of my comments, but suffice it to say this one is beyond slow. I cannot figure out how they can be so incompetent. The food is never ready when it's supposed to be. If they know you're waiting, they don't bother to call your name when the food is ready, but rather, just set it out. If they're out of something, they don't bother to tell you that, it's simply not provided. read more

Don't waste your money on this place when there are several other locally owned Greek and Mediterranean style restaurants within a mile or two of this place. The food here is just not good. Went in after work around 8:30pm looking for a quick dinner and it felt as if the staff was rushing me out the door. Unfortunately every restaurant in North County closes at 9 PM and if you get off of work late like I do you have no options except for taco shops. On top of that, the Gyro meat was cold and chewy. So tired of all these crappy chain restaurants popping up locally with mediocre food and a crappy end product. read more

First, let me say it is pretty good food. Beef and chicken are of good quality. However, for the prices, I think it's not a good value. Portions are pretty small. Also, some things we thought odd; we ordered a 'gourmet' apple walnut salad with cranberries, there were 5 cranberries in there. It's hard to say where the line is exactly on garnishes like that, but it's probably a double digit number. And, despite photos to the contrary, on the rice - there is no saffron. Again, it's not bad, and under the right circumstances I would return, but there are better options in San Diego for Persian and Lebanese style food... read more

I've come here in the past and ordered the same thing each time - a Greek salad with chicken, which has always been a decent portion of warm chicken kebab meat. Today I ordered a Greek salad with chicken and received 1-2 oz of cold chopped chicken. For $13.50 it was over priced and not what I was expecting. Peachy's Market just down the way makes excellent quality kebabs and food. I will be taking my business there from now on based on the quality of my food today. read more

Called in an order and waited in line to pick it up. Rather than helping the next in line, the staff took a friend from the back of the line and bypassed the rest of us. Rude and unprofessional. Waited for a call as promised from the area manager, never received one. Food good, service terrible, makes me wonder if they are doing something to customer's food behind the scenes. read more

Let me start off by saying I love Luna Grill! I cater from them regularly for work and it's one of my husband and my favorite take out places so we were very excited to have one open up right down the street from us. We decided to give it a try tonight and unfortunately we were pretty disappointed with the service. I called in our order for take out. To start, she did leave me on hold for about 5 minutes, but I assumed they were busy as it was prime dinner time. I placed my order and she advised it would be 15-20 minutes, which we understand and expect as we know they make all the food to order. We showed up 20 minutes later, waited in line to pay, so by now it's been about 25-30 minutes since I called in. They had no idea where our order was, the cashier said she'd check on it but then never got back to me. I waited another 5 minutes and in that time several people went up to check on their orders, all of which were told they had several orders in front of them. One lady even canceled her order because she'd been waiting so long. I asked the cashier if she had found it and she advised there were a couple orders ahead. We were now at about 40 minutes from when I called. I continued to wait. Finally she calls my order, now 50 minutes from when I called. She reviews my order and hands me my hummus tray with veggies and there were literally 2 pieces of celery, a small handful of carrots and cucumber slices... not exactly what I'd come to expect from their other locations and for the price so I asked if I could have a few more veggies and she said that's all it comes with. I told her that usually it had a few more veggies and especially after a 50 minute wait I'd really appreciate a full side of veggies. She said she'd get me some more celery... 5 minutes later still no celery so I decided to leave with what I had. In short, I'd definitely skip this location in the future and head to one of the others around that have better service and portions. The food was good and up to par with the other locations, but for such a long wait it would be quicker to drive to the La Costa location. read more

I went to Luna Grill with my dad after a big workout, and we were very pleased with one the big helpings, and two the employees. Nico took our order efficiently and kindly; not to mention he was able to provide a military discount for my father. We were very grateful for that. Angelique brought out our order in a timely fashion with a big smile on her face. She then preceded to come to our table a few times to make sure that we had everything that we needed. Another girl did this as well, but sadly I did not catch her name. Food was delicious as well. We will definitely be coming in more often for good hospitality goes a long way. read more

Since I want to support our local restaurants that are struggling during this pandemic, I ordered takeout from one of my fav places--Luna Grill. I ordered online and picked a specific time to pick up my order. When I've ordered in the past, my food has always been waiting for me. This time, I got there a few minutes early but the food wasn't ready. I was told it would be ready in 2-5 minutes. 30 minutes later after standing around outside with my stupid mask on waiting, my name was called. They didn't even bring it out to me. This review is only for tonight's pick up order. When i arrived, the gal at the pick up register was quite flustered, going back and forth with the kitchen staff about something. I understand she must be new, we all were at some point so waited til there was no one at the order line to ask for my order that was right there and ready. When I got home, there was no dressing on the salad or on the side. And it was the dingiest greek salad, 3 pieces of lettuce, one peppercini, two olives and two very small pieces of cucumber. My 2 friends and I had an amazing lunch at Luna Grill in Encinitas. It began with securing a table outside in the balmy weather we are so proud of. The team that took our order, delivered our food, and checked on us were Chelsea, Blake and Benjamin. All were carried out in a friendly, professional manner. I had the Market Wrap with chicken and a a side salad with pomegranate dressing. All were "off the charts" delicious. Portions and quality of the ingredients were excellent. Went with my mother, we had the Grass fed burger with fries and this is the absolute best burger I have ever had and the crispiest fries ever... crispy on the outside, just perfect! The service at this location has always been worse than other locations. The two employees behind the registers were speaking loudly and openly about their personal lives while our food was sitting right behind them waiting to be delivered to our table for 10 minutes. The food was cold once delivered and the restaurant was just about empty. If you have a choice, choose the Bressi Ranch location. read more

Was looking forward to my first meal at Luna Grill in Encinitas. Very disappointed in the Lemon Chicken Soup. So little flavor that it tasted like hot water poured over rice and chicken. I just dumped out my large order for $10. Falafel was dry and the sauce was runny and tasteless. The grilled tomato on my combo plate tasted of propane? Perhaps it was grilled with a torch. Good trick for food photography but it ruined the flavor. I'm suggesting the employees try their own soup. This is one customer that will not return. read more
