This was probably the single worst restaurant experience I've had since Covid reopening. I was trying to make a movie and told the staff when I ordered about it, but it took them 20 minutes from when I ordered to actually prepare the food, which is shockingly slow. When the food came out, it was super piping hot to the point where 1) it was clear it was nuked in the microwave, and 2) it burned my tongue. To make matters worse the person who brought my food was cleaning the restaurant as a janitor but didn't change their gloves or wash or anything. Just downright unsanitary. read more

Worms in salad!!! Manager confessed they do not wash the produce just plop it right on your plate. If you don't want to be poisoned or fed live worms do not go there. I would've posted a video but it took forever to load. read more

First time visiting Luna Grill. BEST Walnut Apple wrap, fresh veggies, falafel & crunchy walnuts, what a perfect combination. Hubby ordered the Beef Kabob & and loved it! I had a great lunch here for the first time :) Ordered the chicken plate with rice and side salad with Tzatziki sauce and fire feta! The chicken was so juicy and had a great fresh flavor, the rice was cooked perfect and the salad was also very fresh and crisp obviously the sauce and feta dip were amazing too! Came here for the time time on a weekend. I opted for the modern Greek salad with Gyros. The funny thing is I had no idea how to pronounce "Gyro" and the cashier taught me the new word! The salad was pretty good and very healthy, especially when you add some protein with it. The default dressing is house sause but you can choose others which I recommend the yogurt dip. The hummus is crispy and the cheese is nice. The gyros is actually a mix of beef and lamb so it tastes familiar but you can't figure it out easily. The salad also comes with bread(Mediterranean style). I will come back and try more next time. read more

Came around 10:00pm on a Sunday but yay, IT WAS OPEN AND POPPIN here. We barely got seats outside in the cool patio overlooking the theatre and outdoor area. I got the steak signature plate, with roasted tomatoes instead of carrots. Everything was so good together and simple, as Mediterranean food should be. The meat alone is salty but paired with the rice, it was palatable. I saved my leftovers for lunch the next day and it was still good! I'm not sure I believe the calorie count listed next to my plate but regardless, it's a nice, quick meal with a paleo appeal. Will be back! P.S. Please fix the ice machine. Ain't nobody got time to be pounding at it to get ice. read more

With midterms done, I was finally able to enjoy a Friday afternoon, soaking up some sun and grabbing lunch with some friends! We decided on Luna Grill since we wanted a change from our usual lunch meet up spot at Caspian in Irvine. AMBIENCE: Black, Red, and White is the theme at Luna Grill. Everything looks clean and they also have some patio seating as well. The place isn't huge, but it is a nice lunch spot to gather. FOOD QUALITY: I ordered the beef kabob entree. The entree will come with a beef kabob, salad, pita, and rice. I would say just about everything on the entree tasted good, especially the tender beef. The only thing that was a bit disappointing were the veggies. They were pretty much charred black, which wasn't fun for my taste buds. My friend also ordered the falafel for the table. For me, the falafel tasted quite dry and I probably wouldn't order it if I go back. My favorite was the Chocolate Nut Roll that my girl friend got. It was just a taste of pure heaven once I bit into it. In fact, I had to go back to the counter and order 3 more before I left. I would definitely come back again just for that Chocolate Nut Roll. SERVICE: Service was excellent. I love service with happy, smiley faces! :) OVERALL: Overall, the price for the entree was a bit expensive (~$12) for what I got. Luna Grill is a Mediterranean / Middle Eastern casual restaurant headquartered in San Diego with locations throughout California and Dallas- Fort Worth.  They like to be known as a "kebobery" and their signature dish is their chicken kebob. We went to the Irvine Spectrum location on a Sunday afternoon. The location is across from the Edwards Theater and the Irvine Improv, nestled among other eateries like Tender Greens, Umami Burger, PF Changs. The exterior of the building is quite plain, and looks like any  other restaurant found in an outdoor mall.  However, walk inside, and its a charming place, with quirky lanterns floating overhead. There's muted tvs along the wall, and the natural lighting makes is a comfortable place to eat. We chose to eat outside, and the patio area is semi-enclosed. There's glass along the side to keep the wind and noise to a minimum, and there's a roof overhead. Our food came out quickly.  At first it was the appetizer sampler plate, and then the server realized that the sampler was Stephen's lunch.  My chicken kebob came out minutes later. There was plenty of food for both of us to share.  The sampler platter was definitely a meal in itself.  The falafel was crunchy on the outside, yet moist but firm inside.  The hummus was delicious, as was the Israeli couscous.  The grape leaves were not my favorite, as the inside rice was a bit mushy. The chicken plate was a generous portion of chicken breasts, Basmati rice, house salad, one grilled tomato, and pita bread. The chicken was seasoned well, but it wasn't as juicy as I hoped it would be. Still, overall a great meal, and priced affordably at $11. Lunch for 2 with drinks came to $27 even.  We had enough for both of us, and luckily didn't have to take any leftovers home.  Thumbs up for this place.  I'd gladly come back to try their beef sirloin kebob. read more

Luna Grill is my new food court. I don't mean that in a bad way but if you have less than an hour until showtime and you don't want to miss your movie. Luna Grill will make great tasting food and it's near the Regal movie theater right next to were the Food Court use to be. I'm not a cheepo, although sometimes I can be, I just hate waiting for restaurants. The wait at most restaurants on a Friday or Saturday night are close to forever. I don't want to show up 3 hours before just to have dinner and a movie. Location: This is the best feature my opinion. I always go here before catching a movie and some times Pieology but that's half way across the Spectrum. Pricing: The food prices are decent it fair for what you get and the portions are large. I recommend ordering a combo and adding a few extra items to share with a friend. Order an item for each person is way too much food for the average person. I always get the Gyro plate. I some times add a chicken and/or beef kabob to make it a dinner or lunch for 2. I love the salad, pita, and rice that comes with the combo. I dine in if there is space or take it To Go and eat outside. CON: The only con for me is the waiting. On a busy night, To Go can take 15 to 25 minutes and finding seating is next to impossible most weekends at night. It's a lot like trying to find a parking space during a peak time at disneyland. Madness! I love the Irvine Spectrum but at times there are way too many people. I recommend Luna Grill. Please don't go when I do, unless you are in line behind me. Thanks! Ha ha. But seriously... It's all about that rice, oh and hummus! I love this place. The food is so delicious and the serving size is huge! We came here for family dinner night, it's amazing how our lives get so busy. Anyway, they totally remodeled their outdoor seating because before they didn't have any & now they do. I got the chicken plate and it comes with rice, salad, pita bread and chicken! I love the dressing they put on their salad, it's light and refreshing. Since, I love carbs, the rice pilaf here is amazing! It's so soft! Oh make sure to get their pomegranate lemonade, so good! The staff is friendly and give good recommendations. The ambiance of the restaurant is casual but pretty classy to have family dinners. It's in a good location because once you're done eating the amazing Mediterranean food, there are dessert options surrounding the restaurant. We stopped at Luna as we were looking for a place to have dinner that would let us bring in our stroller. Right away, Chris made sure we felt welcomed and at ease. He answered every question we had about the entree choices and was also really personable. He recommended the garlic chicken which was a delight! We also got the gyro plate and it was very delicious. The chicken and gyro were savory and juicy. Also, the hummus was really tasty, and not too oily. Chris remained attentive and checked in on us frequently to make sure that we were doing good. Typical casual fast dining setup. The place is pretty new, so it looks nice. Food is maybe a couple bucks cheaper than what you'd pay at a normal sit down restaurant.
