I have been a long time customer and will not order from them again. The quality of their food has gone way downhill. I recently ordered a falafel to go with no kale. My order not only came with kale, but the falafels were burnt, old and stale and had no taste. I called and told the manager about this and he did tell me he was sorry and would let the kitchen staff know. Service was good. I ordered on line it was ready when I arrived. I did however notice the thicker pieces of chicken were stringy or chewy, I felt like they were not all the way cooked. This has become my go-to lunch spot! The food is always awesome, the staff is super friendly, and there's a wide range of options for groups with picky eaters, vegans, health-conscious types and the not so... The gyro meat is amazing, but in an effort to go a little healthier I've switched to their chicken, which I thought would be disappointing, but is incredibly fresh and grilled and awesome. My favorite is the El Greco Street Bowl which is spicy delicious and has a ton of base options from salad to rice to fries depending on how hungry I am. I actually crave it. I have been ordering great meals at this location on Telephone Road for many years. The food has always been fresh and cooked perfectly. I have always had great quality food prepared on time for my curbside pickup. My only disappointment is that they don't sell their name brand salad dressing in bottles anymore. There is no substitute in the grocery store for this fabulous treat. I'll keep coming to Luna's in Ventura. read more

I absolutely love this restaurant! Every time I go there, the meal is perfection. I don't eat meat but I would highly recommend the falafel in anything, the walnut apple salad has the best dressing, the impossible burger is amazing.. And their fries! Whether you get them plain or loaded, you won't be disappointed. Furthermore their hummus and pita is delicious and every tomato I've ever had on my meal there has been super ripe. Boring. The food was fine, restaurant was clean and organized, service was quick, but I felt the food was just plain boring. Nothing stood out in terms of flavor, taste, or presentation. Although everything seemed fresh, I was really hoping for a bit more variety on the menu. When I explained my disappointment to my wife, she explained that I was really looking for "Americanized Mediterranean." I guess that's right, because I like more fresh veggies, hummus, sauces, and meat selection. This place does not have enough selection to to keep me exited about coming back. Hello I'm soooo in lol 4.5 stars Luna Grill a fast casual Mediterranean food mainstay that is a big hit in Texas, San Diego and the OC which is now migrating Northwest with new spots in both Oxnard and Ventura which just opened. This is where "My Two Cents" comes into play I briefly digress do you remember FREE food in Ventura with an access link. Who said it doesn't pay to Yelp lol The soft opening set up was as follows one appetizer, entree, drink and dessert taster per person including kids meals sadly they didn't buy that I was really 11yrs old when I wanted a kids meal as well lmao JK... The food is fresh, savory, plentiful and very good. The skinny we started with the spicy Hummus and the cooked Feta dip. Notwithstanding the Hummus being green and no oil added, yet served with fresh pippin hot pita it was very very good big flavor. The Feta was also very good but to me more of an accent on a plate as opposed to a full order would have been great. My lunch companion ordered the Chicken and Sirloin Kabob combo her meal included Basmati rice, salad, grilled vegetable, pita and a very nice cucumber tzatziki dipping sauce. It was also very very good. Fresh with a really nice mix of flavors and the plate was humongous seriously people just enormous. Clearly the portions are beyond generous were talking easily shareable in fact probably a small families worth of food. I had the Chicken Kabob and Shawarma combo with the same sides which are standard. The Chicken kabob is the star, soft, moist and bursting with flavor. The Shawarma also good but in my world of Shawarma not a star but still a very nice rendition. We both had the Pomegranate Lemonade seriously good and addicting. They passed out dessert tasters of mini cupcakes and baklava a nice touch and finish to an excellent meal. I need to add there ice machine churns out the shaved ice chips not the cubed. OMG I love that... Seriously it's the little things that win me over. Just in case for those keeping score at home the way to my heart is Wicked intelligence, engaging sense of humor, alluring smile, casual elegance, sexy sexy athletic body, along with having a palate and of course shaved ice chips, mix in being a cuddle monster an Apple Fritter and I am at your mercy just saying LMAO The space is very cool and sparkling clean. Nicely appointed and very welcoming with both table and booth seating along with a patio. The service was great truly a testament to the management and training to the young eager staff. They were at the ready, engaging and incredibly helpful. I get it's an opening event and the upper management is present but it looks like they made very good staffing choices... The menu is a cornucopia of your standard Mediterranean fare, Hummus, Falafel, Shawarma, Kabobs, Salads, Wraps in addition to Salmon and Lamb. The prices are as follows; Appetizers (Sharables) $4-$5 Entree's $10-$14.50 but again the portions are huge enough to easily share. Drinks $3 for bottomless drinks Order, pay, take a number, your drink cup go sit down and your food will be out in a jiffy. Yeah I said jiffy lol All in all Luna Grill is a truly great Mediterranean option albeit the fast casual variety in Oxnard and Ventura for all to enjoy. Love it, great food, great for takeout. I always get the chicken kebab meal. The hummus is excellent and the rice is delicate and usually beautifully seasoned with, I think, ground sumac? Just really great flavor in the chicken and rice especially. My only dislikes are: I wish they wouldn't limit you to 1 extra kebab as a meal add-on, as a la cart is a bit steep. I'd order a few additional at the add-on price. Secondly, for takeout, the hummus is on the same surface as the rice and chicken, so if you want to warm it up you have to replate it. I do like that some of their containers are cardboard, as I suspect it might be a little lower impact than the plastic ones. They urged me to use their own online ordering system for pickup instead of 3rd party services. It looks like UE takes about 30%(!!!) just for processing the order so I will definitely be avoiding UE in the future. read more

Luna grill isn't necessarily bad food wise, however, as a Middle Easterner it is falling short in a few areas. For one, the food is absolutely overpriced. Even the al a carte options are expensive. I asked the cashier if the Al a carte chicken came with about 5 pieces which is reasonable for what they're charging per skewer. He said yes. When I opened the box I found three large pieces of chicken. It's important to be transparent about these things otherwise you're going to have an upset customer. He could've easily turned around and asked the chef if he was unsure. Their chicken wrap is yummy but expensive as is their other selections. read more

I absolutely loved their food + service here. We were immediately greeted, then guided where to order. I would suggest finding your seat first if it's a little crowded. Soft drinks are self-served and I recommend their Pomegranate Lemonade. A little sweet, but delish! They give you a number to place on your table. Then they'll come bring your order to you along with utensils. For dessert we had their mini red velvet cupcake and their baklava. Their mini cupcakes were okay maybe because it's just like any other ordinary dessert I could get or make. But I loved their baklava because it's a different taste. This location used to be "Free Birds World Burrito". There's plenty of free parking. And it's finally nice to have a Greek/Mediterranean restaurant around Ventura County now. Sometimes it's the little things that make a world of difference in your lunch "alone" experience. For me, it's all about great food. I had the Mahi Mahi plate and it was perfectly cooked. The rice was buttery and fluffy and the hummus was smooth. Can't ask for more but then the service was great too. I had two employees check on me then even the manager checked in on me because he remembered I mentioned it was my first time here! This is a great alternative to fast food. They are quick and consistent. I order the chicken kabobs plate and the Santorini chicken bowl. I love this bowl it's super flavorful. The staff are nice and once the messed up my order I called in and they took my name and replaced all the items a second time when I returned for free.
