I read several of the reviews and had them in the back of my mind and was pleasantly surprised that the entire staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The waiter Aldo was helpful in picking our meals. The Buffalo Mozzarella/Tomato Salad was delicious, the Saffron Pappardelle pasta and the Short Rib stuffed Tortelloni in Truffle Alfredo S was too die for! Our friends had the Lobster Pappardelle and Clams and Linguini. They said they were also delicious. The wine was very reasonably priced. We will be back. Give them a try. I ordered pizza because it was fantastic in the past. However this pizza order was not good at all. The sauce reminded me of canned ravioli I had as a kid, the chicken and broccoli on the chicken was sparse. Not even the crust was good. Everything was dry and bland. I'm still craving the Tortellacci Ripieni Brasato Di Manzo Al Tortufo Nero (I had to copy and paste that lol) but it's like a stuffed ravioli type pasta that is homemade, filled with short rib, with an Alfredo sauce and black truffle, IT WAS AMAZING!! My husband got one of the seafood specials with squid ink pasta and enjoyed it as well. The empress gin lemon drink was delicious, not too sweet. Our server was Giovanni and he was super personable, told us stories, gave great recommendations and made it fun learning Italian terms from him. We'll always ask for him!! We've been here a few times and I've never had a bad meal. We are early diners so it's nice because this place is never crowded early, it's so nice to have a quiet and enjoyable meal with the lovely lake views. The service is always on point. I really like their table bread with Italian olive oil and balsamic, yum! They give you plenty of bread so there's extra to soak up pasta sauce. The pastas are all so delicious. My favorite sauce is the vodka pasta sauce but they're all amazing. The handmade pasta is the best! For dessert this last time we shared the spumoni bomba. It was big enough for one person but two could easily share it. I've had cannolis before which were awesome too! This place is a great restaurant for a nice date, it's candlelit and the views are descent. It's nice to get away from the crowds and have some amazing Italian food. read more

This place is just amazing! Every single time I have been the food is absolutely outstanding. Best Italian dinner in Vegas says Mike, that's me. I haven't had a single thing on the menu that wasn't great. I asked the server his favorite and he says "I'm a chef, my favorite is what I make... what do you like?" And.... BAM he produced the perfect dinner for my tastes, how did he do that??? Did I mention the cocktails?? I'm slightly buzzed writing this(one drink, score!!!) and I can't wait for dessert! The bolognese is amazing, the pink sauce is stupid good and the staff is there to make sure you have a great dinner. Bread, drinks, dinner, dessert this place does not disappoint! Then there's the whole lake that you can walk around and bring a lovely date too. The area is great for walking around and having a romantic moment with someone special. I had the lobster ravioli which was good but I expected more filling also I had several empty ones. It was good but not blowing me away which it should for this plate at $29. What really bothered me is that they offer a $15 discount with Yelp check in on a bill over $50 and the server could not give it because "the manager was not present". DO NOT OFFER A DISCOUNT IF NOT WILLING TO GIVE IT, that's in my opinion terrible customer service and was a kind of a low of the evening. read more

The bill was very strange. On one bill it said "total PRE tip amount" but then on the itemized bill it included a tip. I had to dig for the itemized bill to find that out. If I wouldn't have seen the itemized bill I would've tipped on a bill that already included the tip because it said "PRE tip amount"I checked with the server and showed him the itemized bill and he said "just sign it, the tip is included, just sign it". Seemed slightly shady to me. Pizza was greasy and soggy which is sad when it's $30. Nice white table cloths inside though. read more

The manager actually spoke to our table because we were trying to read the menu, using our phones. She told us people complained we were using the light on our phones to read the menu, Ridiculous!!!! The waiter was serving my friends meal and holding another meal in his other hand. He dropped all the juice or grease from that meal in my lap. I told the manager when she was complaining about the cell phone lights and all she could say was "I'm sorry!" My clothes were nice and now the pants are ruined. Really delicious and lowkey spot tucked away in the Lake Las Vegas area. The mussel and clam zuppetta is a must, and the tiramisu dessert is one of my favorites. The portions are quite generous, and I love coming here with a small group so everyone can eat family-style and try a little bit of everything. The lake view is a bonus, too. The servers are all friendly and the service is on the border between formal and casual, giving the place a touch of upscale charm that's balanced with a relaxed and easy atmosphere. I do not review places very often, but Luna Rossa has by far some of the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. I'd give no stars if that was an option. We've stayed at the Westin at Lake Las Vegas dozens of times and usually eat dinner out at the Village. Oftentimes, we try to go to Sonrisa Grill first, but they always have very long lines. As a result, we default to going to Luna Rossa, and we have NEVER had a good experience there (plus the food is mediocre at best). However, this past visit was exceptionally terrible. I have several food allergies (one is gluten) and asked the hostess before we sat if they could accommodate gluten-free. She said yes, so we decided to try Luna Rossa one more time. When I told the waiter about my allergies, he seemed extraordinarily annoyed with me. He said he would accommodate, however. Then once my food arrived (after waiting about 45 minutes), it was completely wrong and I could not eat it. I politely told the waiter the dish was not what I ordered and I could not eat it because of my allergies. He then slammed the plate down, said this is Italian food and walked away. I cannot help that I have allergies and the hostess said they could accommodate! The staff at Luna Rossa is extremely pompous and rude. The waiters act like we are inconveniencing them if you ask for another drink or literally anything else after you initially order. The food is no better than Olive Garden. But, they know people don't have many choices at Lake Las Vegas and simply DO NOT CARE. Plus, they get extra annoyed if you have kids. If you're eating at the Village, do yourself a favor and just wait the 20-30 minutes to eat at Sonrisa Grill (or try one of the other restaurants). The staff is nice, the food is good, and you'll end up waiting longer to eat in the long run at Luna Rossa while dealing with rude staff and expensive prices. read more

The interior is beautiful and the energy inside is romantic but the food isn't good. Our server was great and attentive. Everything came out on time and the wine was delicious! Sadly, the food tasted so odd. I'm not sure how to describe it. It kind of tasted like TV dinner pasta. I had the black truffle Alfredo and there were no hints of truffle and the sauce was bland. For the price point I expected it to be tasty but it was mediocre. I think this place has a lot of potential and is in a great location overlooking the water. Yes, the "chef" likes to close earlier than listed! Increased prices, lower food quality and a very non Italian staff caring more about wanting a 20+ tip instead of earning it. We knew it was not going to be a great experience when the older female host walked far in front of us, placed the menus and walked away without even saying good evening and then Waiter immediately came over to order quickly and was trying to rush us to turn the table (45 minute in and out???) because there was an event in the town even though several tables open and upset we only order glasses of wine instead of a bottle he was pushing. If we did not feel rushed, would have gladly ordered a nice Brunello to enjoy with dinner followed but dessert and after dinner cocktails. Sadly, there were open tables and no need to rush us! Hostess and waiter totally ruined our evening. Btw... I'm a french trained chef, Italian American who visits Italy multiple times a year so know great Italian, and this place NO longer cuts it! I think it's the rude service that ruins the dining experience and owners simple ignore negative reviews because of the touristy nature instead of learning from them. We decided to stay the night at the Hilton Resort as well, before driving all the way home to Mountains Edge,(SW LV, lol.) Everything from making the reservation over the phone, to being seated, and served was phenomenal! There was a gentleman playing jazz guitar that wasn't drowning out the conversation, and he was very good. We started with the calamari which came out really fast, and was delicious. I ordered the spinach manicotti that came with Brussels sprouts, grilled red pepper, and a few potatoes. My wife had lobster ravioli with two shrimp on top. Everything was prompt, and delicious! We have group gathering last Sunday, A total of 20 people. When we came in, the waiter asked us what we like to drink, and we said water was fine. The waiter brought out bottles of water. These bottles can actually be refilled. When we check out, they charged 10 bottles of water, $8.5 for each bottle, plus Tax and tips. They never told us that we would be charged for water. We had a wonderful lunch with the very attentive staff at Luna Rossa to the point we came back for dinner. Lobster ravioli were fresh and in a very nice sauce, almost a vodka sauce. Saved the bread to the end and swabbed up the remaking amsauce at the end. The gnocchi with spinach and prosciutto was very good but I preferred the ravioli. Always enjoy fresh made ravioli with a good sauce. The staff was attentive and I may be very biased, but all were old enough to remember how high quality restaurants use to be. Food is excellent. They tried to up the ambiance by playing live jazz, but, still mediocre. Service is lousy, lousy, lousy. Two of us were seated in a little corner of the room. Fine, it's a weekend and they could be in full capacity, besides, we had no reservation. The maitre'd handed us our menu. Five minutes later, a server took our order. That was the first and last I saw both of them. 10 minutes or so, later, our food and drinks were served by a kitchen staff. I asked him if he was our server, he replied 'no'. Fine, the person who took our order (our server?) was just nonchalantly passing by us without any care. We wanted to have some bread, but, he was ignoring us. I felt like I was being discriminated against, it was an odd feeling, while he was hand and foot catering to the other guests, which by the way came in later than us. So, we finished our dinner. Nobody came by to ask if we needed anything, no one, not a soul. The staff was just passing around us like we did not exist. After finishing our food I flagged down a guy for our check. Am I going to wait for someone to pick up my credit card or do I have to pay up at the front desk? After 10 minutes waiting and no one showing up, I stood and decided to pay at the front desk.I saw a person there, maybe, she handles payments as well. But no, a person behind me called my attention, he took my credit card, probably the cashier. The cashier computer was hidden behind a curtain on the side of the room. To recap, food is excellent. This restaurant is really cute and right next to the water. I highly recommend asking for patio seating if you dine here. I visited this past weekend and it was fairly busy due to it being Fourth of July weekend. Despite the wait, the staff was wonderful and very accommodating. Our server was also fantastic and helped answer any questions we had about the menu. My only complaint here is that it was a two hour wait to order any pizza! I understand it was busy, we just wish we knew this before we were ready to order or possibly even before we sat down. Again, not a major problem, it was to be expected on a holiday weekend. The food was mediocre at best. Definitely a little overpriced for what you are getting. I ordered the salmon salad, which I genuinely liked, but not worth getting again for $28. My friends had similar thoughts on the dishes they ordered. This place is definitely worth visiting for the ambiance. We had a very disappointing and frustrating experience. I ordered the mushroom risotto. Perhaps it's because I've visited Italy numerous times, and frequent beautiful restaurants, but I can confidently say that this risotto is the worst I've ever had in my life. Undercooked race in a sauce that was brown tasteless gelatinous goo. For the first time in my life, I sent a dish back to the kitchen. I was swiftly provided with an alternative (which I was deeply grateful for) but unfortunately it was pasta with the same sauce. It was simply in edible. I chose to skip dinner altogether. To top it all off, when we asked for my meal to be subtracted from the bill the restaurant inflated the price of my husbands meal instead. Can you believe they charged us over $55 for his linguini?
