Wife is partial to onion soup and sliced avocado as a supplement. I'm a fan of the curled (plentiful) mini pepperoni on the pizza, like the Bridgeport reviewer. As an import from old Bridgeport myself and an occasional visitor to Little Italy in New Haven and NYC, I know good pie. Remaining half of steak and cheese sandwich tastes as good the next day. It's nice to dine in, not knowing whether a family of kids or local representatives or neighbors will be at the next table. As a local resident, I love the fact that there's a place to go pick up fresh food. They provide local community discounts which is a great touch too. I'm typically a regular on certain days of the week and I have to say the service is top notch. They're all friendly and greet me by name every time I come in. They also know my order by heart so it's nice to have the familiar feeling. In terms of ambiance the restaurant is cozy. It didn't fit the most people, but has flexible seating options like "bar" seating, high tops, and traditional tables. There are two restrooms located in the back of the establishment. I love the mason jar lights, great touch! In the way of cons I don't have too many. The prices are a little high compared to some places, but I don't mind because it's local. Additionally the hours are a little less to be desired. They close at 14:00 ET (2:00 pm ET) Monday through Wednesday so it's a bummer I can't get hot food/coffee after work. Otherwise, on Thursday through Sunday they're open until 21:00 ET (9:00 pm ET) I think. Overall, i would definitely recommend! Some of my favorite dishes are the Breakfast Burrito and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. Edit (4/4/23) - Unfortunately they are no longer serving breakfast, but they have changed their hours from Tuesday - Saturday 11:00 - 20:00 ET (8:00 pm ET). Stopped by after perusing Yelp for a lunch spot midday on a Saturday and had a decent family lunch. The place was empty so service was prompt and the staff seemed friendly enough. We tried the steak and cheese sandwiches along with the turkey club and a garden salad and we all left full and satisfied. This is a pretty basic spot offering food that is good but not knock your socks off great with fairly reasonable prices. Affordable, friendly and delicious. Being from New York I'm skeptical to try pizza from other states (except Chicago), but I wanted a quick bite and stopped in here. The Lunch Box may have the best gluten free pizza I've ever tried. Even though our party was planning on dinner at Colony Grill (more GF pizza!) and I was originally going to order the Cobb salad and a glass of white wine, once I discovered there was an option for GF crust for all of their pizzas, I decided it would be a GF pizza challenge day. (And ordered the Pinot Noir instead, a recommended pairing.) Lunch Box threw down the gauntlet with their GF sausage and pepperoni pizza. The thin crust was both crispy and slightly chewy, and the deliciously garlicky pizza sauce was expertly spiced and nicely portioned. The pepperoni was sliced extra thin and the sausage was a wonderful flavor bomb. The rest of our party enjoyed the Cobb salad (sans avocado, but the restaurant accommodated our request to have it on the side so those of us who like avocado could enjoy it) and the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with fries. I suspect this may be THE spot to go to in Weston, CT. I went for lunch one weekend, and it was packed. People were waiting for tables, waiting for pick-up, and waiting to just make their order. I came here on a Saturday for lunch after doing a hike in the nearby state park. It was easy to see from the road and there was plenty of parking in the plaza. We were greeted and sat right away and our waitress was friendly and attentive. They have a good menu with sandwich and pizza options. The ingredients in the two sandwiches we got were very fresh and well made, a solid lunch. It was also reasonably priced for the quality ingredients in the dishes. The Adult Grill Cheese may sound risque, but there's no risk with this generously portioned, hot off the grill, toasted white bread, melted American cheese classic....stuffed with bacon! What, what? Lunchbox stuffs theirs with hot House Cured Pork Belly, Swiss, Cole Slaw & House Thousand Island Dressing on fresh Rye bread. It's Delicious with a capital "D". Repeat. And what's a sandwich review without more than one mention of bacon? Not much if you ask me. So order the BLTA. The only way to make a BLT better is to add more B. But Lunchbox figured out that adding Avocado will work too. Staring down the open face of the BLTA I ordered with a cup of French Onion soup, I knew I would enjoy it. And I did. And I do. Repeat. I've yet to try the Latin lunch, but I've seen the 8 hour slow cooked pork. It's probably fantastic, I have tried the breakfast sandwiches. Bacon, egg, and cheese. Another chance to talk about Bacon! The ones I bought were the last of the morning pre-wrapped lineup, but they were still fresh, hot, and moist. Excellent. Repeat. Outside the coffee majors like barstucks & kindotuns (I'm not spelling them because this isn't their review) most restaurants and take outs fail with poor weak coffee. Not Lunch Box. It's a serious cup of Joe, and I order with my breakfast. Repeat. Finally, let's hear it for the wait staff. This place is fantastic. My crew just started a big job in Weston and the regular market place closed down but we noticed THE lunchbox open just a few feet away so we decided to give it a shot. It's been three days so far and all of our food has been delicious! From running late one morning and grabbing a handful of premade sandwiches for speed, to a delicious fresh omelette and fresh shots of espresso the next day and now the BLTA sandwich (pics below) I just had for lunch I can't say enough about this place. Wow. This place is delicious! My boyfriend and I were driving to New Haven and decided to stop by Lunch Box to grab a bite after seeing the Yelp reviews. It's about 9 miles away from Hwy 95, but absolutely worth the detour. Weston is such an adorable town and I loved passing the beautiful colonial mansions on our drive to Lunch Box. It's a small restaurant by most standards, but I felt it was on par with the overall quaint feel of Weston. Staff was top notch, and I appreciated that our server took the time to go over the menu and offer her suggestions. We ordered: *BLT: Ok, listen. It's a BLT..nothing overly complicated. But it's one of the best damn BLT's I've ever had. Everything about it was perfect...the thick sliced bread, the perfectly cooked bacon, crunchy lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and perfectly ripe avocado. I ordered a garden salad as a side and I loved the green dressing that came with it. Not sure what it was specifically, but I loved dipping my BLT in it! *Cobb Salad: My boyfriend gobbled this up and he appreciated that he could taste the char-grilled chicken. No corners cut here. We live in Washington state and likely will never be in the area to have Lunch Box again, but if I lived near Lunch Box, it would become a permanent staple. Thanks for a fantastic lunch! PS: The initial reason I came to Lunch Box was because of their main picture, which reflects a delicious shrimp rice bowl. They don't offer this any longer, so I was a bit disappointed. I ordered two large pizzas, meat lover and Buffalo chicken, for pickup. I had called 1 hour and 20 minutes in advance so that the Lunch box would have enough time to make the pizzas for pick up at the specified time. I arrived at the scheduled pick up time. I was told by the young lady with a ponytail, "it will be a couple of minutes." The young lady did not offer an apology. The restaurant was only 30 % full. I was handed my two pizzas twenty minutes after the scheduled pick up time, again without any apologies. This is very poor customer service! The pizzas were greasy and meh. I have been living in Weston my whole life. The Lunch Box is our only restaurant in Weston, and it is mediocre to low quality at best. The food is a 50/50 chance that it is edible and they only can be accommodating if they want to be. The service is ok but the owner manages every single other store in the plaza to make sure that the Lunch Box stays in business. Lily's Weston Market would be so much more successful with their food and etc if the Lunch Box was not there or the owner was more lenient on them. Perhaps, Weston would be best served by a more unique and higher end type of restaurant with a creative menu and wine list. I will give two stars at best because it is really our only option in town. read more

What a great spot! I grew up in town, and we had a lunch counter at the Weston Center. But we never anything like this, with soups and salads that are fresh and tasty, delicious breakfasts, and daily specials always worth trying. As reviews show, the downside is people are heavily reliant on the only restaurant in town, so they're unforgiving if they're busy or closed. It's a great enhancement to the town, the casual vibe belying the upscale food offerings. Long live the Lunch Box! read more

I'm not in this area much, and I was happy to find The Lunch Box since it's somewhat rural out here. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese, which sounds simple enough. But they got all the details right. Two fried eggs (over medium so not cooked to death, but not runny), lots of creamy American cheese, and crispy bacon. The roll was good too, not too bulky or dry. I like how the bacon was crumbled in the sandwich, a nice touch. That way the bacon isn't tough to bite through. My only small complaint was the iced tea I had. It was unsweetened, which is ok. But I think it was over-brewed. No amount of sugar was gonna help. I asked about drink options over the phone, and I would've gotten a soda if the person told me they had it to go. I did ask about it, but they only mentioned tea. Overall it seems like a great local breakfast/lunch spot! read more

We used to frequent the "Old lunchbox" for convenience alone. As any patron of that place knew, food, price, ambience and service were lacking. I am so glad to say the NEW lunchbox is lovely. Our server, Mary, was very nice and welcoming. The menu was definitely improved! I had the Lunchbox Hash which was a delicious combination of potato, onion and pork belly. I sandwiched it in rye toast ... So good! The decor is tasteful. The place was closed for nearly two months but now I see why. It has been completely refreshed. The furnishings are cute and homey without being kitschy. Red-striped cloth napkins are a great touch. Some of the black and white historic photographs of the area are on display and those silly lunch boxes are gone. Drawbacks include a lack of children's menu for breakfast. I was here awhile back and loved it. It's a small place but staff are quite friendly and the food was excellent. I was not yet on yelp when I was here but I ordered the fried clams. Unsure if they are still on the menu but hopefully they are. They were crispy and very good. The people I was with also enjoyed their food. I can't speak to takeout..I do not live near here and have never got takeout. But the place itself is clean and offers a very relaxing atmosphere. We were happy customers. I have been twice now. I want to like this little spot. It has great potential. There are some good things about it. However, when sub quality things are served as the standard such as margarin instead of butter, fake "maple" syrup made of corn syrup instead of REAL Maple syrup I find it off-putting. I had to ask for 1/2 & 1/2 for my coffee bcz they serve it with milk. Their fries are good- fresh oil - crispy crunchy golden yum. They make their own baked goods and their croissants are good. The coffee was excellent the 1st time but not the second time (which is why I went again). I had breakfast both times which was very,very basic.
