Double Dog (4): exactly what you'd imagine. 2 dogs in a bun with chicago style toppings. Kids liked both hot dogs and they seemed decently sized. Chicago Burger (3): Fairly standard and executed well. No complaints. Philly Cheesesteak (4): Can't go wrong with a philly. Melty goodness. Personal pepperoni pizza (4): Cheesy and crispy. Overall, decent spot for some good grill grub. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but the location is convenient if you're spending time at the zoo. read more

I ran in here during a thunderstorm to grab a bite to eat. They currently don't have any turkey burgers due to some sourcing issues, but that was no problem as I ordered a regular cheeseburger. The guys there are very nice and they were pretty quick and making my food. I would say the burger was decent and what you would expect for a deli type place. I have to admit, I'm a little jealous of people who live in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, they can step outside, walk a few feet and grab delicious Chicago street food! I'm a native Chicagoan living in Atlanta now, and while I was back home on a business trip, I decided to take my son to the Lincoln Park Zoo. It was his first time in Chicago, and of course he wanted an Italian Beef. He said, "Can we go to Portillo's?" I said, "Portillo's? We're in Chicago! We don't have to go to Portillo's!" I did a quick search, on Yelp, and found an octopus spot that apparently served Italian Beefs, go figure. We decided to give it a shot, and honestly, what a great decision! Everything we ordered was delicious. The beef was seasoned perfectly, the pizza was Chicago cheesy good with a slightly crispy crust, and the guy who took our order had the BEST Chicago accent. It's nearby so I love the accessibility in an area with limited lunch options. My favorite thing from them is the gyro and hummus, with comes out to about a $20 meal with drink. Service is always good and relatively quick. And you can order ahead online if you're in a time crunch. It's been a little while since I've gone but the inside looks like they are updating it, since it looked cleaner and I'm pretty sure they got some new tables - it's nice to see a restaurant doing well enough to keep it going like this! Stopped here for a snack after walking around in Lincoln Park. Very friendly environment with a huge menu and fast service. It was easy to grab a table inside. It was my second time trying a Chicago hot dog and I enjoyed it though I had to ditch some of the jalapeños because it got too spicy for me. Just found my new favorite wing place! I really like the texture of the coating on the wings and enjoyed the pleasant and strong lemon taste for the lemon pepper flavor. Was originally wanted to order the dipped Italian Beef, but might ended up saying Italian Sausage instead. The sandwich wasn't very impressive - the dipped sausage was overly dry. They didn't give an option re how wet the dipping should be. Order in person during weekday lunch hour also ended up with an extremely long wait - about half an hour. Food: 9/10 Went here after a trip to Zoolights. I got a 14' half cheese half sausage pizza and some cheese fries. Cheese fries were toasty and had a generous amount of cheese on top. Fun little neighborhood spot with lots of character and lots of options! Seriously the menu is huge, it was hard to decide what to get. Sadly, I think I might've chosen poorly. I got a the buffalo chicken wrap, and it was nothing to write home about. Buffalo Chicken Wrap: 2/5 Very small portion, and barely had any chicken in it. There was a lot of flavor, but almost too much, with the buffalo drowning out pretty much everything else in the wrap. Their specialty seems pretty clearly to be pizza and burgers so honestly not sure what I was thinking ordering this. Menu is so extensive it had me overwhelmed, and I think I panicked! I will say, it was only 10 bucks, which is a pretty good deal for lunch these days, but I was still kind of hungry after so not sure if the price moved the needle for me too much. While the buffalo wrap was somewhat lacking, the service and the overall vibe of the restaurant was awesome, and is bumping the rating up at least a star. Lots of really cool art on all the walls, and the staff were super friendly. Really liked the old school feel to the place, from their pictures of customers on the wall, to hand writing your order number on a sticky note, just overall felt very welcoming and nostalgic. It's thin square cut which I really enjoy but don't eat as often as other pizza styles! It was kinda greasy but otherwise very very delicious. Crispy crust and good cheese to sauce ratio. The bun completely fell apart & since the cheese was on the bottom the cheese fell out with it which was a bummer. I expect a meatball sandwich to be messy but they could do better with a much better bun. The chocolate malt with extra malt was very good. Great malt flavor. I didn't know a malt could be too thick but this one is. It barely comes up in the straw. It is not mixed very well as there are chunks of the powdered malt in it. I felt like it would have been easier if I had a spoon instead of a straw. I would definitely come back again & try something else because the food quality & taste is excellent. We got the meat pizza (with a size of puss sauce) and it really lives up. the sausage is so flavorful and they definitely don't skimp on the toppings. The puss sauce almost tastes like and elote sauce, so flavorful with a little spice. And on top of that they gave us a half pint of tortellini soup for free and damn is it good, the broth tastes like home made pizza sauce and the tortellini is creamy and fresh.
