We tried to book a banquet room, or a reservation for 25 people, 5 days in advance. The Banquet room was available and was the only way they would make a reservation for that many people. The problem is this is a casual birthday party where families are paying their tabs separately. The only way they would take the reservation is if we all had the same thing (fajitas). I explained to two different people including the General Manager that everyone did not want the same thing and we needed the full menu. Their reasoning is that 25 orders would overload their kitchen and delay 250 other customers. Our food was great......... The waiter misunderstood our order and served us double of what we ordered. We were kind and told him it was ok, I thought he would take it off of our ticket but he did not. We were with a large group for Father's Day so I just paid the ticket. When I told my husband that we were charged for both orders of (Fajitas for 2), he asked me to call and speak to a manager. The manager was extremely RUDE and talked to me like I was stupid. Instead of apologizing or offering us anything, he said he would take tables away from the waiter or pull him from the job completely, I am in management and this was the most unprofessional conversation I have ever had with a MANAGER. Expensive for low quality food. Started off with a warm draft beer. Ordered beef fajitas that were not very good. Lack of flavor. Beans were undercooked. The portion size was very small. Two tortillas are included with fajitas and they wanted to charge me for another tortilla. Chips and salsa were finally delivered with my dinner. The salsa was bad. Well not as good as the Houston Lupe tortilla restaurants. I had the fish taco and they were good. Served on flower tortillas and not corn, so kinda odd. Restaurant is nice inside, but wasted space with the big waiting area off to the side that really should be a serving area. Really not that many tables so no wonder the wait is 1.5 to over 2 hrs at night. Not worth the wait in my opinion. Great location right off of the highway! They have a nice outdoor waiting are with fire places and an awesome kids play area! The food has been great every time I have been. I am a big fan of the Lupe's chain, BUT not the one in Beaumont. On our most recent visit to celebrate my son's 23rd birthday on a Friday evening, we sat 20 minutes with no one asking to take our drink order. I finally flagged down a server and asked her to take care of us since we really wanted fajitas and margaritas. She took great care of us, but cautioned us that she wasn't sure about taking on our table because it would make our waiter mad. Well, who cares! We had terrible service anyway because the girl wasn't assigned to our area. Upon leaving the assistant manager got an earful loud enough for our "waiter" to hear. Terrible service. Showed up at 8:30pm and they turned off the ac. We asked several time for them to fix it and even the waitress said she had asked them to turn it on. She changed her story and said it's just what they do when they are getting ready to close. Food was decent but didn't care when we are sweating at our table. VERY DISAPPOINTED! The food is not worth the price. $13 for a Chicken stuffed Poblano Pepper. The cheese that it was stuffed with was so tuff to cut through! One Star only because none is not an option. We attempted to go to Lupe Tortillas after our game on 20 July 2014 at 3 pm. There were 30 of us. Renaldo the manager told us that they would not serve us. We even tried to split up into smaller groups due to their 10 party max rule. Yet he did not want to deal with that many people and the hassle as he put it. So we left, took our business elsewhere. Last time we went we spent about $700 as a group after a game. While traveling through on our way to New orleans we decided to give this place a try. We normally stop at the Cafe Del Rio but having never eaten at a Lupe's we thought we would give it a try. There was a wait that was supposed to be 10-15 minutes. That turned into 30-45 but we got seated and were served drinks and chips right away. The chips were cold and sauce was more like pico. I ordered beef fajitas and the wife had a combo enchilada plate . The food took over thirty minutes to be delivered and when I goot the bill I was shocked. I dont think I have ever seen 28 dollar fajitas before. They were ok but not that grea t. My wifes food was cold and she did not even eat her enchiladas. The service was slow and uncaring. I just don't see how this place can make it in Beaumont. I can not recommend this place . Perhaps when the new wares off we might try them again. After waiting for a table in the bright sunshine, it was disappointing to see how dark the inside was. Our order took way too long to be delivered and then we discovered the fish tacos were cold, the veggie tacos were wrong (came as quesadillas) and the Chicken Lupe was rather bland. Great atmosphere and excellent service. The food was good too - and reasonably priced. Started with chips and salsa - salsa was fresh and accompanied with pinto beans and guacamole. Chips were fresh and crisp...the salsa, frijoles, and guacamole were delicious. Ordered the flautas - they were also good, and came with rice and refried beams. To top it off, I had flan and coffee. Chicken was dry, only had 5 small grilled onions and ONE green sliver of a green pepper and one red pepper which was gone with the first bite. Menu stated half pound (1-2 people 14.95) When the bill arrived it was $27.95 for two. Queso was no better that anywhere else.I have never paid $28.00 for fajita's in Beaumont! Ate dinner shortly after they opened. Wait was several hours and the food was bad. Fajitas were burned and sent them back three times. After several months thought I would try again. Last Friday night tried fajitas again and same thing. They came out burnt! I didn't order drinks just water because I was afraid of that again.
