This location of a chain is near the Interstate and is walking distance from hotels at the Washington Boulevard exit. However, there is a lack of sidewalks in this area, so if your hotel has a shuttle ask them to take you. Service was good, the chips and salsa very fresh and the entrees were some of the better Tex-Mex we have had. Prices were reasonable. read more

If they had a good salsa I would give it a 4 1/2 - 5. I'm all about chips and salsa when I visit a Mexican restaurant. Their salsa is diced tomatoes in water. First, believe it or not I love salsa but absolutely hate tomatoes! The owner, if they like their salsa, they need to consider adding a more traditional salsa along side it. Please do NOT go to this place if you're trying to have a special day. Went for a Sweet 16 Birthday lunch and called the day before to make reservations and was told it was first come first serve. Went the next day with 23 people and they told us they couldn't accommodate us bc it was a big party so I told them we would take 3 tables of 8 in a roundabout same area. They said they couldn't do that either but we could wait and I told them that's fine I came an hour early to wait on it and manager stated it would be much longer than that if at all!!!! I then called Cafe Del Rio in the lobby of Lupe and told them my situation and was told to come there and they would have tables ready for when I got there. A member of our party got the shrimp quesadilla and it was too spicy for her(she has a very weak palate FYI) and the chief came out personally and offered to make her a plain cheese quesadilla. Do not eat here! I drove into town & place looked very cool, so I decided to stop by. I asked for outdoor sitting, which wasn't a problem. They took their time to come and ask for drinks then didn't come back for another 15-20 min to get our order. Once we got our food, I asked for salsa (to add to my tacos of course) I kid you not, took them AT LEAST 10 minutes (and that's because I had to get up and ask the hostess) by the time I got salsa, my tortillas were soggy and taco fell apart. We are in town for a State Softball tournament. We needed a place to eat and Mexican sounded yummy. We get there and we are told that the 12 of us (6 adults and 6 kids) can't sit together. They are unable to move tables due to fire code. However. After confrontation about why the tables could not be moved together - the manager says that he doesn't sit large parties because they don't turn over as fast as the smaller tables. And it his policy to not sit big groups because they take too long and are not as lucrative. After discussion he finally said okay as we all helped move tables together. But then he started arguing. He was disrespectful and rude. At 4:30 he was more willing to say no to 3 families rather than move them together and fill the restaurant for fear we would 'camp out'. After he told his hostesses to NOT seat any softball players. Mind you- there are approximately 30 teams in Beaumont for this tournament. It seemed he didn't want any server to serve us (after 10 minutes of all servers ignoring us) however, santos took the job and did it in rock star fashion and pretty sure he was rewarded for his great service (we all left 25-30% tip) even though his manager wanted to not serve us. We were in and out Of there within an hour however - this manager was rude, disrespectful and had no concern about his clients. In his town- one would assume that you take the tournaments or the tourists as part of the culture. Clearly, this manager is a well known chain did not get the memo about how Beaumont welcomes us. The experience at this restaurant on the last two occasions has been dismissal and threatening by the head waiter, Byron, who slammed down incorrect drink orders then when you explain that you friend ordered a frozen margarita, not a margarita on the rocks, he tells you "to take it up with the bar tender" only to make things worse by walking past you three times and patronizing you as you are complaining to the manager because this was the same experience we had the last time we ate at the place with the same "head waiter." Actually, the first experience with Byron involved our attempting to order something that was a slight variation from the menu but Byron refused our request by explaining the kitchen would riot! Literally! In any event, this is a dismal restaurant despite its potential. It needs to be closed down and re-opened with new management and staff! read more

I normally love Lupe Tortilla but this location is just AWFUL! The staff is very unorganized, doesn't communicate and clearly lacks proper training. Their menu options are more expensive than the standard Lupe Tortilla but with HALF the portion size! They don't even have a daily happy hour, only on Wednesday's. The charro beans should be fresh made daily, usually one of my favorite things here. But these taste like they were microwaved, and after watching some of the menu items that should be on sizzling skillets come out on a tiny plate!! That was the final straw we just decided to not even continue ordering, paid for our over priced warm draft beers, and left the restaurant. If you're a fan of Lupe then do yourself a favor and steer clear of this location you'll be EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! Do better guys read more

This place is not an actual lupe tortilla. The manager him self told me all the food is made in Houston at a real lupe and then reheated. Menu is totally different than the vast selection of a real lupe. They informed me nothing was safe for me to eat due to gluten allergy. Thanks for that info. 3/24/2019 we went your restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. I have been to the one in Houston and always love it that's why I told my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary here. We were standing in the front door for a long time and no one came to assist us. I understand the host is not there but people who work there were passing us all the time, we feel like we were invisible. Finally the host came and took us to the seat but she was coughing like 3 times with her hands then grap our napkin and silverware. That was very INSANITARY. Our service was ok but the food was not hot. In the end of meal I asked the sever if he can write something or put a candle in our dessert but he refused right away. It was a very bad experience I ever have in Lupe Tortilla. I was embarrassed and feel sorry for tooking my boyfriend there. read more

This place is phenomenal! Beaumont-Port Arthur has lots of Mexican food places to choose from but this by far is the best. The salsa has great flavor and I'd say the freshest. Cheese dip is great. Guacamole is fresh and yummy! I had the Steak Lupe and oh my goodness gracious it was amazing. Really nice restaurant. They even have a place for kids to play while you wait for your table. The service is great even when busy. The salsa is different than your traditional Mexican restaurant. It is more like chunky tomatoes and they also bring out beans to eat with your chips. Since I don't like either one of those things, I got the Three Amigos (or something like that) which is amazing! It comes with queso, avocado/jalapeno dip, and a spicy red salsa. It took a lot of effort to be willing to share with everybody. For an entree, I had the shrimp fajitas the first time I went and they were amazing! They had so much flavor! The second time I went, I had the vegetarian quesadillas (I can't remember what they are called.) Again, absolutely delicious. They had so much flavor packed into each bite. They came with an avocado dip which added a little kick, but they tasted great even without it. Another highlight which puts them above the rest is the tortillas. They are legit. According to the owner, they don't even roll out the dough until you order the tortillas, and you can taste the difference! Will definitely be going back! read more

The food deserves better than the rating I gave it but I don't know if the wait was worth it. We arrived and were told there was a 45 min wait at 6:00pm on a weekday, so decided to have a margarita and wait 20 mins later we got our very disappointing margaritas. They were bitter and for $7.50 ea could have been better. Our waiter did not know the menu but tried hard to please. The food was very good but the place was so loud especially with all of the children there that it was hard to enjoy the experience. My boyfriend and I went on a date to Lupe's he got the fajita burrito and I got the cheekin flautas, his was around $14.00 while mine was $10.00 his burrito came and it was 2/3s tortilla and had maybe a infants handful of meat. We left and he was still hungry so I had to cook when we got home.... However my dinner came I had 4 flautas with 4 different sauces the weirdest refried beans I have ever tasted and the best Spanish rice I have tasted in this area, I was full even after giving him my refried weirdness and 2 of my flautas. Terrible food. Mexican food at Kroger deli is better. The waitress was very slow and could care less about her job. The mixed drink was warm without any ice. The waitress never came back with a new drink with ice. When I complained, she just laughed. I did like their bean stuff. Not even sure what it was but it was good. It came with he chips. I didn't eat but my husband did. He got mixed quesadillas. He said he wasn't impressed and it was only half full. There was barely any meat in there. It was just tortilla mostly. The sodas were horrible. I thought the one I had was just a result of running out of syrup but the next one was just as horrible and it wasn't the same type either. We tried to book a banquet room, or a reservation for 25 people, 5 days in advance. The Banquet room was available and was the only way they would make a reservation for that many people. The problem is this is a casual birthday party where families are paying their tabs separately. The only way they would take the reservation is if we all had the same thing (fajitas). I explained to two different people including the General Manager that everyone did not want the same thing and we needed the full menu. Their reasoning is that 25 orders would overload their kitchen and delay 250 other customers.
