my family and I have been coming to this location for a while and last time we went there was a completely disappointment. We came in at 1pm wait was 45 min and took about an hour to get seated. When we arrive to the table it took about 10 min to see our server. We have no complaints about the service btw. The food took one hour to arrive to our table, and it wasn't even busy. The food was horrible , my guabán oeder the campechana he coupé en eat it. My son order a salad witch he order the same salad before it was not even quite the salad as it used to me it had layers of cheese . I order one Mushroom taco , I haves order this before . Well this time was a no server told me that the owner part manager said that he couldn't sell me one because he was going to trow the other half away and he could of come and talk to me if I wanted. After not visiting Lupe's for several months, we were terribly disappointed today. First, we sat for over 10 minutes to get chips and salsa and order drinks. Then the server never brought me my margarita that I ordered. But much worse, my son's chicken tenders were raw. Unfortunately he has eaten several bites before he mentioned the chicken felt funny and tasted weird. Manager came out to apologize and took off his meal and paid for our fajitas and told us to let them know if he has to go to hospital so they can work with the insurance. However that has not been my experience. The chips and salsa was good the chips was hot and my server Chandler was amazing and attentive. When i ask for a to go container for my Texas style Gumbo. This review may only be helpful to vegans wondering if they should try this place out, but it may be helpful to others wondering if the unexplainably high prices on Lupe's menu are worth it. Our waiter, Charlie, was fantastic. He was super helpful and when he learned we were vegan, he was able to tell us off the top of his head what menu items had animal products in them. Unfortunately, there were a ton of menu items that contained animal products. Even foods that are normally or very easily vegan, like beans and tortillas, were inundated with bacon and lard. The corn tortillas contained honey. We ordered the 1/2 lb of veggie fajitas, which we assumed for $17 would be a sizeable enough amount for us to leave satisfied. Not stuffed, but satisfied. We ordered the asparagus as a side and subbed the sour cream with more guacamole for no extra charge. Charlie was cool like that. The order came out with a big pile of cheese on the toppings tray. The asparagus had cheese on it, which Charlie noticed and promptly whisked it away to bring us a new one. The plate of "veggie fajitas" was a small plate with maybe one small portobello mushroom, a green bell pepper, and a little bit of poblano peppers and onions. The side black beans (miraculously vegan) came in a tiny cup. I seriously looked at our food and was like, "Damn, seventeen dollars. For this." It was such a small amount. I will say though, the asparagus (without obligatory cheese) was the bomb. Props on the 'Gus, Lupe. After taking some veggies off the skillet, I noticed that a piece of meat had found its way into our food. Not very pleasant. My wife begged with me not to bring it up. We just wanted to enjoy a night out and complaining to waiters takes away from that. I get that. So based on our experience, I will definitely not be coming back to Lupe Tortilla again. Their menu items are very vegan unfriendly (despite operating in the current age where other restaurants are making wise choices to put more vegan options on their menu. Get with the times, Lupe!) Commonly vegan foods are here laden with animal products galore (tortillas, beans, asparagus). Their prices are really high for the amount of food you get, especially our order which just consisted of a few vegetables. $17! Oh, and a regular frozen house margarita was $9. Go to Chuys instead. Their prices are way more sane. If you love asparagus, come here and ask for Charlie. Really no other reason to make the effort. read more

I would highly recommend trying them out (especially the fajitas)! Beyond impressed with management. I can't speak for the food here since we never got any. I checked with a server if it was alright to sit on the patio and he said yes so we went and sat down. About 10 minutes later another server approached me to tell me how pretty my dog was... in 20 minutes no one came to actually help us. Not even greet the table. It wasn't busy either. My wife and I happened upon the Lupe Tortilla in what they call the "RIM" last weekend while in San Antonio. We had a nice experience with great service and the food was exceptional. We had eaten at Lupe Tortilla while visiting my son in Katy and had a similar experience there. So, we decided to order take out back in the Austin area where we live. The location is in Cedar Park off the 183A tollway and 1431. As we drove up to the takeout area, there was a number you could text. We both tried and had no luck. So, I went inside. When I asked the hostess where I go, she just pointed to an area and mumble something. I went to an area that seemed like a logical choice and waited. After a few minutes, I waved down an employee who went and checked on the order. I was a little earlier, so I waited. No problem there. I informed them that their texting function was not operational, and they assured me they would investigate it. So, out comes my order which I cursorily inspected with the employee. All seemed intact, but when I got home, I realized that there were no tortillas from" Lupe Tortilla" to go with my fajitas. Also, and this may sound a little nitpicky, but the food paled in comparison to what we had experienced in San Antonio or Katy. Of course, when you order fajitas and there are no tortillas, you feel like you have half your meal. Like, what's the point? Anyway, we live out on the lake, so I wasn't going to drive 20 minutes back to commandeer tortillas. My wife was miffed about the entire experience, so I called the customer service number to express our disappointment with the manager. That was yesterday and still no return call. Finally tried Lupe tortilla for the first time last Friday and was shocked with how bad it was. We ordered 2 patron enchilada plates and were shorted one order of beans, 2 orders of guacamole and 2 additions of poblano peppers. Everything on those plates tasted exactly the same, and it was so bad that we couldn't finish our plates. The kids chicken tenders were burnt and the kids cheese enchilada wasn't good enough to finish either. The sopapillas were basically cinnamon bread and the sauces they serve with them were just sundae toppings. I contacted corporate Friday evening after our terrible experience and 5 days later I still haven't heard back from them. Very disappointing. read more

My wife and I had dinner here on a Sunday night and really enjoyed our meal. I ordered the Chicken Lupe Del Mar and my wife ordered the trio fajita. I was first pleasantly surprised the broccoli came with a side of their delectable queso. I then had the chicken and it was divine, along with their salsa it was outstanding. My Wife's fajitas were truly out of this world, the steak was so flavorful and tender. This was streets ahead of any fajita steak i have ever experienced. 3rd time's a charm I suppose? The first time we tried to dine here it was by invite only, or you could sit at the bar which I'm only a fan of when I want a few drinks and appetizers, not a full dinner. To me it's reminiscent of sitting in a highchair while at the same time trying not to knock your neighbors with your elbows using a knife and fork, but to each their own. The second time we tried was mid afternoon on a Sunday and the wait for 2 people was an hour so we went elsewhere as we were starved. Last night however, we managed to get there a little before the dinner rush and got seated within 10 minutes which was awesome. Our waitress was very sweet and did all the right things like suggestive sell appetizers and desserts, brought refills and napkins without asking, and even boxed my leftovers for me. It took ten minutes for our drinks and chips to come out though and another 20 for our meals. We love the food at Lupe but every time we go we seem to get slow service. It makes me wonder if they give servers too many tables per section, or if we just have bad luck and go on nights they are short staffed. This location is still new though and I understand that it takes a while to fully get into the swing of things. Per usual we were both extremely pleased with our plates. I got the cheese enchiladas with red sauce, a side of black beans, and their seasonal street corn. Perfection! My husband got the Pablo combo plate that came with a beef tostada, beef chalupa, beef taco, a side of rice and beans, and he ate every bite. I do wish the prices were a little cheaper though. $12 for two cheese enchiladas, beans, and corn seems steep to me, as delicious as it is. read more

Truth, I was initially bummed to see that this new building was going to be a Tex Mex restaurant but only because we have tons of Tex Mex in Cedar Park. After dining in earlier this week I have changed my tune. Lupe does serve some solid Tex Mex and service was spot on. Lupe Tortilla is in soft opening/training days and upon walking through the door was told it was "invite only". I found this odd because they have been open for about a week. The hostess did say she could get us a table in 20 minutes or we could sit at the bar. We opted to sit at the bar. After we ordered drinks we were brought chips, salsa and beans. I thought the salsa and beans were rather bland (adding salt helped) but it was all uphill from there. For dinner I ordered the ensalada verde salad and added grilled shrimp. The salad has fresh mixed greens, roasted peppers, generous slices of avocado, pico de gallo & queso fresco and was topped with perfectly grilled pieces of shrimp. The salad was delicious and super filling. Jesse opted for the pedro. The pedro is one beef enchilada and one cheese enchilada smothered in a rich ancho sauce, with rice and frijoles. The beef enchilada was fabulous. It was stuffed with shredded beef and the savory sauce and rich melted cheese was Tex Mex perfection. The refried beans were incredible. When we received our check we were pleased to find our drinks were on happy hour which included my glass of wine. I enjoyed the atmosphere, excellent service, cold drinks and great entrees. They have a nice patio and some tables set up for people waiting. They not only have purse hooks at the bar, they also have electrical plugs to charge up your devices. read more

I had to retry their fajitas since it's been years since we'd had them...in Sugarland. They were very good but not worth $22.00 for a 1/2 pound order, they have a lunch version that doesn't list the weight and it's about $18.00. I compare the quality/taste and price with another fave texmex place I frequent, Tequila Bar and Grill, that has beef or chicken or both for under $7.00 Monday through Friday for lunch. Pricewise Tequila blows them out of the water, the tastes are comparable, Lupe wins the ambience comparison but I've never figured out to eat that...the service is better at Lupe's too. read more

Went on a Friday night and we knew they looked busy, but boy were they busy. They told us it would be an hour and 15 minute wait for a two top. We both had had an innate feeling that we wanted to eat here tonite, so they took our cell number and said they would text us when our table was ready. A lady ahead of us heard her wait time and she muttered no restaurant is worth waiting that long as she walked out the door and left. I'm glad to say she was oh so very wrong! We both got a drink from the bar, and the bartenders were very nice even though they were slammed. We sat outside on the beautiful patio and sipped our drinks and did some people watching. Even though it was August, the patio was shaded and comfortable. The time went quickly and we got the text for our table being ready. We were greeted and seated by a friendly hostess. We ordered some queso and guacamole to start and they were both delicious. They also serve complimentary chips and salsa and some very tasty borracho style beans. It was all very good. We had come to this place for the fajitas. Beef in particular, so we ordered our half pound to share (apps filled us up) and waited in anticipation. When the fajitas came out they were sizzling and smelled delicious. We got the extra topping of Monterey Jack and fresh sliced jalapeños as well, which was good. These fajitas were fantastic, they were tender, and they had a great combination of grilled and tangy flavor that's hard to describe but just perfect. The tortillas were also great. Giant in size, but so light and thin, definately homemade and definately delicious. Be forewarned, these are very expensive beef fajitas at.roughly $40 per pound. I never thought I would pay that much for fajitas, but these are that good. I order from this location almost every week and the service has progressively gotten worse. I place my order at the same time every week expecting a long ficticious wait time to pick up the order - their attempt to deter me from ordering so the staff can hang around chatting. This evening I attempted to place my to-go order 1 1/2 hours before closing to be told that they were not taking to-go orders. I asked to speak to a manager and was questioned as to why I wanted to speak to the manager and then when I insisted to speak to one I was hung up on. I called back and supposedly spoke to a manager, Wendy, who adivsed she would check if they could take the to-go order. After checking, she advised the the wait would be 30 minutes. I told her that I was just hung up on by one of her employees and she stated that she would be transferring me to that same person to take my order. After holding for 2 minutes the phone was answered and then hung up. It takes a lot to make me mad, but this was enough for me to alert others to spend your money elsewhere. I dont have this problem at other Lupe's, just this one. Best way for them to learn to value their patrons is to hit them in the pocket books - I will spend my $120 weekly elsewhere and I advise all to do the same. read more

My order came out incorrect and the FOOD WAS DRY AND DISGUSTING! Worst Tex Mex I have had in cedar park or Austin!!! It took them until we were done picking through the food for them to bring out my corrected chicken enchilada and it was small and burnt. Stuck to the plate. And to add insult to Injury our waiter charged my husband for extra beef d en tho he ordered chicken and charged me for them to give me the correct enchilada. I spoke with the manager about the poor service and lack of quality food. He tried to resolve the issue but also tried to justify the quality of food saying this is how we always make our food. This is nothing spectacular for the price they are charging. We went for the first time after hearing some rave reviews. We weren't greeted by the hostess (there were 3 of them standing there). It was just rude. Service was ok. Ordered the guacamole and it was very bland. There did not seem to be any onion or jalapeños or cumin in it, it was just smashed avocado and some tomato on top. Had the grandioso fajitas, they were good, but cost about twice as much as similar restaurants in the area. It came with some sort of a butter sauce which was served cold and had a strange texture.
