My family ate there a couple of days ago. The hostesses take their position way too seriously especially Yesenia. She took our name and how many in our party. She told us it would be a 30 min wait. Fine, it was crowded but 45 min later, no table when there were empty tables around us. Meanwhile she's walking around like a runway model instead of a hostess at a mexican restaurant. It was pitiful. My little one was so hungry. So, I went to inquire how much longer. I was brushed off as if I was bothering her and two girls who were there were just talking. The food was good, our waiter was attentive, everything was overall alright. I hope the management team considers additional training wof the hostesses. If they dislike being around people that much, they might want to reconsider their career choice as a hostess. Its the first face you see in a restaurant. I have eaten at the Lupe on I-45 several times for and it is consistently good. Went to Lupe on 1960 in Atascocita Sunday 6-9-13 around 5:30pm and was extremely disappointed. Experience was pretty much bad all the way around. Our server seemed very nice, but seemed pretty over whelmed and was overall pretty slow. Albeit I saw she had two other big table, but if I am paying $80 for a meal not really too sympathetic for bad service. The two kids tacos were mostly lettuce and cheese with hardly any meat. They switched the orders for myself and sister-in-law. Was told they would bring out new ones took another 20mins. The asparagus (which are my favorite thing to eat at the restaurant on i-45) were burnt. When I explained this to the waitress she said they cook them on a charcoal grill. Tried to explain that I understood this, but you can still over cook something over charcoal. When the GM came back with new asparagus, they were not grilled but boiled. Sent those back and just asked to remove off the bill. When myself and sister-in-laws food finally came out my wife was already done with her shrimp tacos (only good thing they served.) Was not offered by any management to take anything off the menu. I am pretty much an invert when it comes to complaining in restaurants so just left 10% tip and left (which for me is like stiffing someone). Will not be going back to any Lupe's with myself, family or any cliental from work and will recommend others to do the same. If you are going to spend $80 on a Tex-Mex meal. Go somewhere else. They have plenty of choices close by. read more

I placed a to-go order with Kelly and she told me it would be 25 minutes. I got there at 25 minutes and then had to wait another 25 minutes. Two nice waiters asked if I had been helped and checked on my order. The manager walked by me twice without saying anything. The only thing I ordered was beef fajitas. I then called to complain and apparently I was put on hold? So, I hung up and now I don't want to even eat. I could've driven to the Kirby location and it would've taken quicker. I have been to the Atascocita location 3 times over the last 9 months. EVERY time I see many empty tables with a 20-30 minute wait. The excuse is always no servers for that area. This is unacceptable. Food is ok but not worth the wait. read more

This is usually one of my favorite restaurants and go-to spot for Mexican food. Today they were clueless on how to make the Poor Mans Dinner. We have ordered this before at this location multiple times. It took the 30+ minutes for them to come ask how it was made. The only positive was that our waiter Christopher did a fantastic job keeping our drinks, chips, and dip flowing. read more

Waited over 40 minutes for our food that never arrived. We were sitting at the bar, had a drink, ordered our food and after waiting and waiting we asked the bar tender. She mumbled something and about five minutes later we asked her to cancel our order, give us the check for the drinks and we were outta there. Grant you, they were NOT busy at all, unusual for this place. Never the less, we ARE NOT going back. We left starving since we were out most of the day and decided to stop here for a late lunch. I will never come to this place again. I asked to sit in a certain quiet area to relax on 9/17/16. I was informed there is no server available. However, the hostess just sat the person right before me in the same area. I informed the supervisor and he made an excuse for how I was treated. Sad! read more

My moms, my daughters and my entrees were all cold my brothers fajitas was the only entree not cold and I had to wait an extra 10 minutes when I went to pick it up. They forgot the tortillas so I had to go back and they said I had to speak to the manager if I wanted to get anything resolved. I was already pressed for time because I had to get ready for work so I left. For a $110 to go order I would've thought a couple of orders of tortillas would've been put in a bag without having to speak to management. I've worked in customer service and the last thing you want to do is to refer a customer to management when you can handle it yourself. I'd rather drive an extra 10 minutes to go to Pappasitos, the service there is by far better and their fajitas are the same quality and $20 less. This is the 2nd time I've been to this Lupe in the past few months and service both times has been subpar which is terrible because, service at the Sugar Land location is excellent. My advice, spend your money at Pappasitos or Hectors. read more

We went here at 7:00 on a Wednesday night. When we walked in, I asked how long the wait would be. The hostess told me, "Not very long at all. Maybe 25 minutes." So we decided to stay. Had the wait been any longer, we would not have stayed, because I had three small children to feed. After waiting for OVER AN HOUR, and asking them several times if we were about to be seated, I finally asked to talk to the manager. I told the manager what had happened and that with three little children there was no way we would have stayed if they had given us an even slightly accurate wait time. I told him I was angry that we had been waiting more than double our expected wait time and we were never given a heads up that it would be longer than expected, we were never offered some chips and drinks for our children while we waited, we were just ignored, and every time we asked for an update during the wait time, we were told it would be soon. The manager told me, "I understand." That was it. He did not offer me anything, he did not give me a more accurate current wait time. Nothing. Worst job managing his host staff ever. They are clearly clueless, and just spout off some wait time without any consideration. We just walked out then, as we could not wait any longer to feed our poor kids. We will not be going back until they better train their hostesses, and get a new manager that knows how to do his job. read more

I'm from South Texas. You can go into a Mexican food place throughout South Texas from south of San Antonio, down to Corpus Christi, over to Laredo.. it doesn't matter. The food might be lousy in some random little roadside pit stop, but the tortillas and salsa will be good. Why? Because the person they've got making the tortillas is probably the owner's mom, aunt, grandmother or all three. And THEY know how to make tortillas. THIS place -- some of the worst flour tortillas I've ever tasted. Overly thick and gooey, color was weird and did I mention gooey? And since my spinach and artichoke enchiladas were made with them... well, let's just say it was beyond disappointing. The beef in my son's beef fajita tacos was way over-salted and the meat was chopped and not in traditional fajita strips which affects the flavor and texture of the meat. Wait staff was great. I left a good tip. It's not their fault the flour tortillas more closely resembled failed pancakes. Will SO not be back. read more

A few months back my boyfriend and I decided to go out in the middle of the week to get a drink because I had such a horrible day at work, we were in the middle of a nightmare of a move, long story short it was one of the worst days ever. We walked into Lupe Tortilla and were welcomed with a sarcastic teenager saying "you look like you've had a bad day, you could smile ya know" which as I'm sure you can imagine this caught me off guard considering I was expecting a "hi, welcome to lupe tortilla". She sat us and after a few moments of no one approaching us, we decided to leave. Before we did my boyfriend insisted he let the manager know how we were greeted and why we were leaving. Once we explained to the manager what had happened is where the story gets interesting. She insisted we sit down and she asked us what kind of beverage we would like, and she wanted to give us an appetizer on the house. We decided to stay since we just wanted to eat and go home and because she was so kind, and obviously she has no control over what other people do. After we had 3 beers a piece, an appetizer, and fajitas we asked for our bill. The waitress told us everything was on the house. I quickly told her absolutely no, they more than fixed the issue and we would like to pay for our bill. The manager came by and insisted they covered it so we would come back and visit them, and basically forced me to take home dessert. Obviously we left our waitress a generous tip. We didn't expect to get anything for free. We were leaving, but if it hadn't been for the manager whom was overwhelmingly kind we wouldn't have had such a great experience after all. I love some of the food here but the service is consistently bad. My husband and arrived at 4:55PM on a Saturday and the hostess, Yesinia, stated that there would be a 20 minute wait. The place was half empty! The people who walked in right in front of us were seated immediately. I pointed out a table and asked to be seated there. She stated that we are not seating there yet. Seriously? My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered drinks while we waited. Immediately Yesinia started seating people in the open tables. We sat and watched as she seated several parties just walking through the door. My husband went over and asked her when we would be called and she said, "We are ready to seat you now." After being seated, we asked to speak to the manager. He thought out treatment by Yesinia was outrageous, which was spot on. He went to speak her and he returned later to ask if she had come over and apologized to us. She had not. He said, "Oh, well she must have gotten busy." She never did apologize. She did give us a "Go to hell" look on the way out. Yesinia and her manager should be fired. read more
