My husband and I stopped in here to try something new. It's a small, sit down restaurant with about 10 tables. The waitress was friendly and helpful. We asked what her favorites are and I opted for the Lupita's tacos trio. I picked one carne asada, one carnitas (pork), and one chicken. I liked the first two a lot. I would get them again. I love the homemade soft corn tortillas and guacamole. The chicken taco wasn't my favorite seasonings. My husband got the chicken/steak fajitas which was yummy too. The chicken in that was perfect. It comes with large corn tortillas that were freshly made along with beans, rice, and guacamole. The onions and bell peppers were perfect not soggy. We wished it had also come with lettuce and pico de gallo. The house salsa is yummy and the chips came to us warm. We spent $25 with the horchata my husband ordered. Good price. I originally went to this restaurant based on another reviewer. It didn't meet my expectation but it could earn another star if they can speed up service. I ordered 2 fish tacos and 2 carne Asada street tacos at 6:50 pm and didn't get food till 7:30 and it wasn't that busy. If I was ordering to go I would call in ahead. The server was nice. As for how it starts you get chips and salsa which the salsa was in a very small dish and a bit bland to taste. The street tacos were great however you are forced to buy 2 minimum at $2.75 each. I also ordered tilapia fish tacos. This was laid in a flour tortilla with mango salsa and lettuce which was better just pulled out of tortilla laid on the rice. If I could individually score this it was a 3 star. That being said what killed it from being a 4 was the wait. Authenticity was a 4 star but good for Eugene. read more

So thrilled to have such a delicious Mexican restaurant nearby! They have lots of vegetarian options, and my meat-eating partner loves their carne asada. I always order the Oaxaca torta - one of my favorite sandwiches in Eugene, no joke! Their homemade corn tortillas are incredible - and you can sub a corn tortilla on any burrito or quesadilla! Very affordable and the staff are kind. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for fresh Mexican food in the River Rd area. read more

Love Lupitas! I go there with my grandson a couple times a month, and usually see someone we know from the neighborhood. The other night we saw my son and other grandson! Sometimes if they are busy, the service is a bit slow, but I don't care, the food is always good. Superb Mexican food....chips were fresh and warm with excellent salsa. My wife and I had the pork tamales, usually a standard for us whenever we hit a Mexican restaurant. The food came quickly and it was warm and fresh. The tamales were excellent. This was a really nice find in that most Mexican food in Eugene is pretty terrible. I can't rave enough about this place. We stopped by early evening when the dinner rush hits, so there was literally only one table open and we took it. The wait was a little while but you could tell all the food was coming out piping hot. We got served chips and salsa while we waited and the salsa was super tasty. When we ended up getting our food the waitress was appologetic about the wait and gave us our drinks for free. The wait was totally worth it considering how amazing the food was. I got a wet chicken burrito and not only was it HUGE but also the best Mexican food I've had since moving to Oregon. The chicken was juicy and super flavorful and the Spanish rice was perfect. I stole a few bites of my fiance's chicken enchilada and suprisingly they were even better than what I got. We're definitely making this place a staple in our dining places. I'm in from out of town and I used to help find this place. The chicken renello was interesting I didn't know what it was. It reminds me of and eggplant with cheese in it. The guacamole was good but not great I did really like the steak tacos though!!!! read more

Authentic Mexican. Handmade tortillas. Excellent food. It's not precooked so expect to wait a little. Twenty to thirty minutes, but well worth the wait. The place is clean and friendly. I will not go back to my formerly favorite taco truck. I would normally get burritos there, but Lupitas burritos are far superior for the same price. We came in on a Sunday night based off of other's reviews. It's great to find decent places on River Road to eat, it's sad how limited it is out by us! But Lupitas was worth it! We came in for take out and ordered the 3 taco plate (steak, cecina and chorizo because they were out of chicken and carnitas, dang!) but all of the meats were delicious and the servings were generous. My husband had the steak quesadilla with all the fixings and it was good too. We also ordered chips and guacamole, loved it! Salsa, guacamole and the hot sauce they gave us were all good. I was a bit confused by their menu, because it seems to imply that you can't order lunch items outside the lunch hour but after looking at other reviews, it looks like we could have. And we should have, because my husband was really craving a wet burrito. That would be the only thing I didn't think was great: their menu wasn't clear and there wasn't a menu on the wall behind where you order, as there could have been. We learned from waiting that you could sit and have menus brought to you and eat there, or order up front like we did for our to-go order. read more

I came here in early June with some family members because it was convenient for all of us. We got a variety of dishes and all of us thought the food was fantastic. The service was great too. My go-to Mexican restaurant!! Love the food and love the service! The cashier here is really great and friendly. Moving from LA, my bf and I were in need of good Mexican food and we are so glad to have found Lupita's! The food is authentic and full of flavor. The surf and turf burrito is so flavorful that my bf came back three days later. The portions are huge and so filling. I also tried their tacos and thought they were great. I took my mother and niece here, and was really disappointed. The tacos were decent, but when I asked for some fresh Jalapeño's, they said that they ran out... So, I asked for some Serrano's, and they didn't have those either. So, I then asked for the pickled Jalapeños, and they said that they didn't have those. What kind of Mexican Restaurant doesn't have chili's? I also ordered the Chile Relleno, and it was not good at all. The batter that it was coated in was burnt. I just tossed it. It is too bad, I am moving into the area, and I was really looking for a decent Mexican restaurant.... The search continues. read more
