Good flavors. Salsa is flavorful but not spicy. You can ask for the hot stuff though. My surf and turf burrito had meat the whole way through. My husband approves of their chili rellno. That's something he rarely likes in Eugene. read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while and today was the day. My order was carne asada burrito and some street tacos. In a word, bland. BLAND! Where was the homemade tortilla? It wasn't in my order. And, they were really stingy with the hot sauce. Gave me one, I love me some hot sauce so I asked for one more. The girl (grumpy, smile-less), begrudgingly threw an extra one in my to-go bag. Eeks, too early for a bad attitude display, methinks. Won't be back. We love this place. This is owned and operated by a woman and her son and they could not be nicer nor could they make better Mexican food! Trust me when I say we are a picky family and we return to Lupita's at least one time a week!! We have "Taco Tuesday" every week and their tacos are amazing! This is the only Mexican food option in Santa Clara that we feel we can reliably get good, clean, fresh food from. The only thing I would change is the fluorescent lighting in the restaurant....like mood lighting or just any lighting but fluorescent would be awesome. :) (Told you we are a picky family!! haha). Best food ever. Seriously, try the chips and mild salsa....tacos...BLANDA burrito has a fresh handmade corn tortilla!!!!!!! The Carne Asada burritos are golden. Ok. So. We stopped in while running errands today and I really didn't expect much because it's kind of a trashy joint. The chips and salsa were awful. Chips were Cold and undercooked and the salsa, extremely mild and very bland. HOWEVER, my chimichanga was out of this world AMAZING! Like. Seriously, probably the best I've ever had. This is a small,simple strip-mall restaurant. I tried the Steak Fajitas, and it was well seasoned and fresh. The complementary chips were warm and served with a mild roasted pepper salsa, which was pretty watery, but flavorful. The flour tortilla appeared to be freshly made, not out of a bag. My son and I went to Lupita's Tacos on Sunday night for dinner. I'd read good reviews on Yelp and wanted to try a new place. I had the green chicken tamales while my son had fajitas. It took a long time to receive our food, but, as my son pointed out, they had a packed house with only two employees. Maybe they didn't expect that many on the Sunday evening before the July 4th holiday or whatever. I won't discredit them for time because the waiter was extremely nice and responsive, and the food was EXCELLENT! read more
