This is my favorite Thai place ever...possibly favorite restaurant, period. It's always my go-to for lunch dates with friends and my husband. Even my young kids love it! Everything on the menu is always fantastic, the service is always so friendly and fast. My favorite is the Panang Curry, hands down, every time. I can't resist it! Their lunch specials come with the most delicious soup that I often order to-go when me or my friends are sick. It also comes with a generous portion of your choice of entree (I take leftovers home), an egg roll, a small refreshing cucumber salad, and a potsticker, all for $15 (as of June 2026)! I am also Gluten Free and Dairy Free, and they are happy to their recipes wherever possible to suit my dietary restrictions. It is genuinely a breath of fresh (delicious smelling) air to dine here. I order for takeout too when I'm getting that curry craving and it's so fast. My husband's favorite is the Pad Thai with beef, my daughters love the Glass Noodle Soup, and I've also tried their Coconut Soup (Ton Kha?), Beef and Broccoli, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and the Larb Salad with pork, and it was all delicious. Very very good Thai good Flavors were bold and on point and reminded us of our trips to Thailand. The pad thai was a stand out for us as well as the papaya salad. The flavor of the green curry and Tom Yum Goong soup was also very good, although we would have liked the sauces to be a bit thicker (both the curry and the soup). But flavors were great. Also, on a spicy level they do 1-10. For us, we did 3 and 4 and it was pretty good. I would compare a 4 to a proper jalapeño popper. For the soup we did 6 and it was nice and had some seat to it. For us, anything over 6 would probably be too hot to enjoy -- but obviously to each their own spicy. Service was friendly and quick and the restaurant is very casual, but clean and had a nice mix of customers as well. This is now our "go-to" Thai spot in North County for sure! read more

Meh. Having spent time and eaten much food in Thailand I was less than impressed with Lur Ros. They have a dining room decorated with the usual posters and Thai themed stuff, but it didn't really ring of authenticity. We were seated by a very cheerful server, and ordered a Thai tea and Thai coffee, they were quite good, but the rest of our experience wasn't not up to par. I love spicy food, like, VERY spicy food. So I wanted my Laarb at a level 8 spicy and the waitress kept trying to talk me down to a level 3-4 spicy after I stated a level 8 spicy. Seriously, I can eat fire. I FINALLY convinced her of a level 8, but it took more time than it was worth. I also ordered the kee mao (level 8 spicy). The hubby ordered egg rolls and Thai mixed vegetables. He is the not-spicy guy so our server had no issues with his level 3. Our laarb and egg rolls came out pretty quickly, and we dug in. The Laarb was so salty it burned the back of my throat when I swallowed, I had three bites and gave up. It was like the cook added salt AND fish sauce. If I'd actually tried to eat it, I would have died from high blood pressure right there. The hubby's egg rolls weren't very hot and had an oddly doughy texture. But he ate them. I sent the Laarb back. Our mains came out and they were good, but mine was not spicy enough at all. (Apparently my waitress doesn't think a middle-aged white lady understands what she's ordering). But apparently the cook LOVES onions. (Both my dish and the Hubby's were loaded with more onions than I've ever seen in an any dish of food anywhere.) So I asked for some red Thai chili flakes, and the server brought over some Sambal Olek sauce (which is Chinese: definitely not authentic). Not chili flakes, not even fresh Thai chilis in vinegar. Sigh... Apparently the good people of Vista are just way too impressed with minimal mediocrity to realize how awful this place actually is. So sad! I'm just not impressed enough with this place to ever return. read more

The food was perfect. We ordered egg rolls, which were crispy & tasty. The tom kha soup was amazing. I'm not a vegetarian per se, but my wife & I like to share when we go out for Thai food, so we go with the veggie & tofu options since that's her preference. I've been a fan of their cashew nut entree for a long time, & the mussaman curry is some of the best I've ever had. They recommended the mango & sticky rice dessert since mangoes are in season, & don't judge me, but we indulged. It was delish. The food was so reasonably priced for the portion size, & in the era of inflation, that goes a long way when going out. Just got a to go order - I eat here all the time, their food is exceptional. Some of the best flavors I've had at any Thai restaurant in California. But I am reviewing my to go order which was packed so incredibly well. I had the bag it was in tip over in my car but the way that they took the time to make sure to keep everything sealed up, bag the soup, etc. really made for a wonderful evening that could've gone sour with a mess. Came for dinner with family on a warm day, so we all got a Thai tea with coconut milk. I got spring rolls and egg rolls as appetizer for the table, and they came out freshly made. We each ordered an entree, and because we had appetizers, we really couldn't finish our food. I wasn't sure about which spice level to get, so the server offered to bring a side of chilis of the food wasn't spicy enough. We all got medium spicy dishes and we added the chilis to our liking. Service was great from the moment we walked in the door. Everyone was very warm, friendly, and attentive. The servers were also very helpful when it came to choosing what to get based on food restrictions. This was a cute quiet place to eat. There was plenty of room. Immediately when we entered we were greeted by a very nice lady. She was super kind, especially to my nephew. We ordered spring rolls and coconut soup with the shrimp. For the little guy, we just asked for glass noodles seasoned whatever way they wanted. I order Lur Ros a bunch for lunch and am never disappointed. The lunch special comes with a ton of goodies like an egg roll, wonton, cucumber salad, orange slice, and your entree. I think the best bang for your buck is the curry. You can easily spit it into two meals with the amount of curry you receive. You would just need to make more rice. I opt for the Panang curry which is usually not as spicy(I requested a lower spice level) and has a slight peanut flavor profile. It also has more vegetables than they yellow curry. They do a great job of packaging the curry to ensure that it doesn't spill. Consistency should be awarded. I've ordered the Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, yellow curry, and the fried rice in the past and have always enjoyed my lunch. I'm sure you will too! read more

Although I ordered my food for pick up, the customer service was great. My Thai Iced tea was great and the seafood dinner would have been so much better had it been served with Jasmine rice. Instead it came with short grain rice that was over cooked and THAT made a big difference in the dish. I also almost choked twice on the squid because it was so big and chewy. Be mindful! Met up with some friends for family style Thai. We ordered the Tom Kha chicken and chicken Satay sticks. The soup was good. American level of spice. No one thought any of our food was spicy. I think that was the interesting thing about how it seemed to be spiced for an American audience, very mild. We also got phad thai and yellow curry. Both were pretty good, but the curry was disappointing very watered down (not normal consistency) and not much beyond the chicken. Normally it should have potatoes and onions, but these were minimal in a smallish bowl. The phad thai was the typical, but not amazing. I do think it is one of the better Thai places in Vista, but those looking for authentic may find it lacking in the area of chilis and dry spices which usually come. They did bring us some of the red wet chilis. Overall we enjoyed the food and the experience. We shared 4 items and had plenty of soup and a little curry to bring home because it was so runny i think most only tried it. We had the blueberry cake based on someone in our party being surprised to see that on the menu. It was moist and fluffy. Seeing fried icecream I would have liked to have tried that, but was very full from the large portions. The liquor store and weird place next door do not add well to the ambiance. read more
