I've been here a few times before, but never bought anything. They're pretty high-pressure with the sales ("Oh my gosh, you NEED this!") and that just freaks me out. I want to take my time sniffing and trying out the samples before deciding what I want to buy, and I just never get a chance. The sales staff is hovering over me the entire time, "Oh wow, that thing you're holding is SO GOOD!" so I end up getting intimidated and leave. Anyway, I decided that I really wanted to try a solid shampoo bar, because they seem so fun and unique. So I went into buy one, but ended up walking out with the shampoo bar (Trichomania), a conditioner bar (Jungle), soap (Sultana), and a skin balm (Ultrabalm). After using them, I decided that they're all terrible, and went back to the store to return it. Quick reviews of the products: (1) Trichomania - The shampoo bar's first ingredient is sodium laureth sulfate. This is a caustic ingredient, and it can be very drying. So this thing turned my hair into hay. It also strips my color. Just not great. (2) Jungle - A conditioner bar. It sounds neat, but it just doesn't work. It's impossible to smooth and detangle with a bar. According to the salesperson, you're supposed to tear off a small chunk of the conditioner and knead it in your hands and then work it into your hair. It takes forever and it doesn't work. No. (3) Sultana soap - First of all, it melts too fast. You spend like $12 on a bar of soap, and it will seriously last you about 2 weeks. And I have a special Japanese-made soap dish that is very good at draining soap between uses, so it's not like I'm exposing it to too much water. Another big flaw is that the soap has huge chunks of nuts and/or tree bark or something in it. Why? I don't know. But this stuff plugged up my tub drain, and that was a hassle to deal with. I will say that all the stuff above smells very good. But they are very strong scents. And the three products mixed together in one bathroom seriously gave me a headache. (4) Ultrabalm - This last product was stanky, it smelled like motor oil. And it was supposed to be a balm, but it was so runny. Every time I opened the tin, the stuff was just slopping around in there, constantly leaking out ... bleh. Anyway, the receipt says that they want me to love this stuff, and if I don't, I should return it within 31 days with the receipt. I went back with a *copy* of the receipt (I scan my receipts, that's how I organize my finances) on November 3. I purchased the product on Oct 4, so 30 days had passed. First of all, they told me that 34 days had passed. Whaaat? Oct 4-Nov 3 is 34 days? How many days are there in a month? So finally they acknowledge that I could return the items, but they won't accept a copy, only the original receipt. Wow, that's nuts. I've never had this problem before, and I don't understand it. There's a scan code on the receipt so they can access their records. Why do they need the original? Anyway, I was in a hurry, so I asked for store credit, but they don't do that. Okay. So I decide to exchange for other items, and browsed the store. In the meantime ... and this is tragically hilarious ... one of the clerks *weighs* the soap that I returned, and because it's been used, and therefore smaller, she *deducts* from the amount of credit that I get. WTF? Are they going to sell this soap that I returned to someone else? This soap that was once sitting in my shower? Gross. I don't understand this at all. I've never seen this done in any other shop anywhere. Anyway, I complained about this, but the clerk explained that it was store policy. Well, this so-called policy was never explained to me. And if she was going to do this, she should have told me before I picked out my replacement items, so I would know that the total amount is going to be less than I expected. Whatever. So I picked out some different types of body washes in plastic bottles. (You can never really go wrong with those, I've found.) Adding to the annoyance is that one of them was labeled $8.95, but they charged me $9.95. Ugh. I wouldn't haven't been so bothered by this normally, but I was already pretty annoyed by everything else, as you can see. They took the dollar off my total, but they acted like they were doing me a favor or something. Just not cool. Conclusion: Well, they are very into the hard sell. You go in for some lip balm or something, be prepared to walk out with a whole new head-to-toe regimen. And if you try to return anything, be prepared for them to give you a hard time and come up with every reason to not give you your money back, including nickel-and-diming you for that sliver of soap that's missing. Also, they don't do store credit. Their stuff does smell great. I really do like it. But I wish I could take my time shopping for myself, without being pressured. And they way they treated me when I tried to return stuff is just not okay. So, it's not worth it. read more

She's always been incredibly helpful and so sweet, so I remember her. Came in here today and on other various occasions to buy my usuals (mask of magnimity, toner, and 3 bathbombs). I have had okay service here in the past. I feel the employees think im here to just look and not buy so they rather not show me the products they are seling like i see how they approach other people. I dont like to be negative but i got really mad today because i went here to get my usuals because i was running out. I saw they had buy one and you get one on select soaps. I really wasnt going for soaps but i end up getting some for my mom. Of course not approached by anyone but i didnt mind. I got the stuff i needed and headed to the cash register. I have always seen this guy at LUSH and hes asain hes super mean, and looks like he hates his job by the looks of it. (he has glasses) Well moving foward, he tells me my total and i said okay. I hand him my card and he says its declined. I said "no, the strip on the back sometimes doesnt pass and the ladies who usually ring me up usually type it in manually ". So he swipes again and says no. I told him i never had a problem like this and he says theres nothing i can do. I asked him he could do it manually i dont mind and he said no. I kinda got mad because he was giving me huge attitude and my friends even said "you dont have to talk to her that way". I didnt say anything because i am not a person to start fights. All of a sudden a manager came out of the back door and said whats wrong, and he explained the situation in his version The manager then proceeded on doing it manually. He then didnt say anything and stood behind her , i just starred at him and by then my friends were pissed and took the bag and started walking out the door after i spent almost 100 dollars the guy comes from behind me and says i needed to sign the reciept but i was to mad and left. this review is about this store, not the product. i love the product. and until this past weekend, used to spend a good chunk of money a month on product. The manager at this store, Layla is one of the rudest people i have ever encountered in my life.. and my scrolling through some of the other review, i see im not not the only one who fells this way. i was in the store this weekend. There was 1 girl helping me. she was great. when it came time to ring me up, they had register issues. after standing around for a few minutes, so told me it was ok as long as i didn't need a receipt. I offered to come back when i was done shopping and sign the CC receipt. i walked around the mall for a while and came back to the store to sign my slip. i was introduced to the manager. she told me that i didn't pay for the product, and would need to pay again. I checked my bank account and confirmed the transaction did in fact go through the 1st time. She then was over come by a fit of rage! it was so bizarre . she started raising her voice and telling me it was only $12, to just take the product since its such a huge deal. Ok drama queen! i told her i was not that type of person, but with getting married in a matter of month, i was closing watching my bank account. She continued her temper- tantrum, toddler style. I said i would pay again, and if i get billed twice, i would expect a refund. She then kept telling me to take the product what does she care about $12. She was trying to make me feel like a thief. It was very embarrassing. I paid for the product, although i wish i would have thrown it right back at her. And she told me I was the one with the attitude problem. Her co-worked looked to be in complete shock. As soon as i asked for her name, her attitude changed and she was apologetic. Sorry Kiddo, Im still writing a bad review for you on the internet. Too little, too late. Long story short, i was double charged, when i contacted them about it on FB i got my comment deleted. When i called the 800 # on the website, they told me to email customer service. Which I did, and the wrote back saying they would talk to her district manager. But not offering my my refund that i am entitled too. I will have to file a charge back with my bank, and will NEVER be shopping at the Glendale location again, if with lush ever at all. read more

Horrible customer service and attitude from the two employees named NATALIE and MIRIAM or Marian whatever her name was. They were so rude and unprofessional that i decided to ask for the manager so i could speak to him/her regarding these employees. They both identified themselves as managers..lol yeh I'm sure They wouldn't give me a number to contact and told me to look for it online? Very professional girls you def know how to run a business. The girls called the mall security as I was calmly waiting to get their names written on a piece of paper. I was verbally harassed and almost physically attacked by these employees they moved so close to my face that i had to take couple of steps back....pretty embarrassing for Lush i must say, oh and they were calling the security on me? pretty funny. This was the worst customer service I ever had by ever I mean ever! Instead of apologizing for their rude behavior they screamed at us and said " you don't have to ever come back to the store , we have amazing reviews and customers love us." yeh i def can see that by your recent yelp reviews.....lol I've been working in retail for five years, and I have never seen anything like this. To say I am offended by the verbal abuse is an underestimated, I have already contacted the customer service and waiting to get a follow up. I am disturbed and still shocked as how two employees ( I honestly don't think they were managers) were aloud to speak to me so rudely and unprofessionally. So my wife and I have been to this Lush store several times in the past and have had a pretty good, not excellent, but good experience. However in the last few days that has changed drastically! On Monday Dec. my wife bought one of their facial creams. She had bought them before but wanted to try something new. Now remember that Lush's products are freshly made so on some items the expiration date is in about 8 to 10 days. She used the product on Monday night and said that the odor was pretty bad, and trust me it was. Either way she tried it again on Tuesday night but couldn't take the stench. She took it back to Lush on Wednesday and asked the customer service rep named Liana to exchange it. My wife picked out another product and Liana rang her up. So far so good. We were out of town for the holiday and when we got back on the 27th my wife went to use the product and when she opened it she realized that they had given her the old stinky product back again! With her finger dips and all in it! So yesterday she goes BACK to the Glendale Galleria (it took her almost 40 minutes to find parking!) and explains to a young man at Lush what the problem was. He said that it wouldn't be a problem and went to get a manager. Another young lady came and asked her again what the problem was and she again explained. when they went to the cash register the lady asked her who had helped her and Liana came over because she had remembered my wife. When they were ringing her up the lady said that the receipt showed that my wife had supposedly bought one item but was returning another item. That's when my wife realized that they had probably rang up the new item but then put the old item in her bag! My wife told them that she doesn't know why the items look different on the receipt but that she wanted to return the item and that they gave her the wrong item. This went back and forth for several minutes until the lady looked at the expiration dates on the item my wife was returning and and the one she wanted (which remember could save a lot of headaches!) and said both items had the same expiration dates on them. And then Liana chimed in and said, "Oh yeah, they do have the same date". By this time my wife was getting upset and was yelling. The item only cost $6.95 but she had wasted her time by having to come back to the store and deal with the terrible parking situation and now had wasted about 20 minutes or more going back and forth on something that was their mistake! Finally another woman came out that was supposedly the manager.When this person came and looked at the expiration dates she said that they were different! The item my wife had brought in was going to expire in about 4 days and the other one had another 8 days left! So the other 2 ladies, including Liana had lied to try yo save their faces! With that my wife didn't even want to exchange the products anymore. She just wanted to get her money back! Why couldn't they had just admitted that there was a small mistake and exchanged the item? It's the holidays and the store was busy. Shit happens! Why was such a huge deal made out of a $6.95 item? And most importantly why did the workers have to lie about the expiration dates? The reason they did was because had they admitted that the dates were different, they admit their mistake and wasting my wife's time! Try your best not to go to this Lush store. Because the products are very good we will be looking for other Lush stores to purchase from. But not at the Glendale Galleria. read more

Whenever I go into lush, Im going in TO BUY. I do not walk out empty handed!! I love all there stuff at least from what I have tried! The employees at this lush are pretty typical where they literally want to help you pick out anything. They are dying to help you! Which is nice but I like to just do things by myself sometimes... However I do like that they are so willing to try everything out on your skin and show you how to use things. I went into this particular lush to get a box of goodies. Well i thought I was getting a box until one of the girls recommended that I pick out my own things and put them into this scarf bag. Its like a scarf that they fold into a bag. I ended up buying alot of things!! WHAT I DIDN'T KNOW was that they will give you samples of anything as long as you ask! Which I thought was really awesome you know? Like how are you going to know if you want this hair mask unless you take it home and try it in your shower first. If you have never gone to lush before I deffinitely recommend the sexy peel bar, the ocean salt, and the dream cream. Those are some of their most popular items and you really cant go wrong! I love this place! Not only the products, but the location and the service. Every time i come I am helped by a different person but they are always equally great...I actually am thankful that the sales people want to take the time to explain the products to you and show you how everything works (the products are amazing but they are also unique and I don't always know what they are or what they do) before i decide to take it home. I have been shopping at this location for over three years, and let me just tell you that the staff and the staff three years ago was no where near as knowledgeable and sweet as the ones that work there now. :) Since the new manager, I have come in and gotten facials, foot scrub treatment, a lot of other awesome scurbs and rubs, and they always set me up with some great samples, I think if you go into a Lush shop and don't have a sales person help you , you are missing out on pampering, samples and some great convo ( although I do agree that if you want to be left alone, you should be) , i look forward to my visits...its seems that the staff here really enjoys what they do... Im always amazed by how much information they know about every single product and what it does, I don't get that kind of service at the MAcys counter or even Saphora, which is why I now use everything Lush, including the New make up line :) I even had a great experience returning something that i picked out my self without the help of a sales person that was wrong for my skin based on a friends recommendation, never doing that again. They were so nice and genuinely concerned with finding the right product for me... that's when i sat down for a facial and got samples of the new products that i than later in the week purchased. I can go on and on about this shop, it really won my heart. I love lush and I frequent there for masks, soap, cleansers, and facial lotion. I like to switch up my routines every once in a while so I love to get samples every time I visit. I've never been denied and am often encouraged to take samples. I visited the Glendale store yesterday (I think my 2nd time there) and I wanted to buy the chocolate mask and their new carrot soap, but I also wanted to sample 2 other masks I have tried yet. I was given some ridiculous line about how they stopped giving out fresh mask samples because people weren't refrigerating them. Even my boyfriend with me was confused about this answer.. I was in a rush so I accepted that response and paid for my items and left. While I will always shop at lush, I may just avoid this one if they're going to be skimpy on samples. I visit this store today to get my Dream Cream...it's the greatest, most moisturizing cream for my growing pregnant belly. This stuff is legit. So I walked in to stock up today and was surprised by their excellent service. Their employees offered me help right away and also gave me time to look around. Upon ready to pay for my Dream Cream, Miriam offered me a sample of a product. I asked her for a facial mask...since I'm not feeling very pretty these days. She gave me a sample for the Mask of Magnaminty and also gave a sample of the Gorgeous moisturizer. I couldn't wait to use them as soon as I got home. And I did. Great stuff! Priscilla greeted me with a big smile and had a lot of great information about other products I was interested in. She was so great and friendly! went in search of some bath bombs because i heard good things and the girls inside were very nice and helped me out i told them my issues with my skin .. i have psoriasis, so its dry, itchy sometimes and sensitive. They suggested a couple of bath bombs (i havnt tried yet ) and a soap called sultana of soap ... i bought what i thought was a small bar but ended up being pretty big and i used it with my bath puff the smell is kinda strong but the smell fades off pretty quick it didn't burn and it left my skin really soft.... i think im hooked . She was so sweet, knowledgeable, and genuine. As a previous 5 year LUSH Store Manager, I know what I want and don't need the high pressure sales. Miriam made me very comfortable, and it felt like I was talking with an old friend. Miriam, you represented the LUSH brand the way it deserves to be and provided me with an excellent experience. I recently tried Lush products for the first time and I'm simply amazed!! I had gone to this location (Glendale Galleria) and was instantly greeting by a beautiful, lively, warm, and knowledgeable young woman named Jade L. When you walk into the store, the first thing you notice is the fresh and pleasing aroma. Looking around you can easily see that the store is clean and organized. It's not a huge store but it has many products for various needs yet it doesn't look cluttered. The way the products are displayed is very appealing to the eyes. It makes you want to go touch, and experience all the luxuries they offer. The products are categorized by skin, hair, soaps, masks, etc. unlike other stores that categorize by scents. Jade L. was the associate that assisted me. She was approachable, and spunky and very passionate about Lush products. I told her what I was looking for and she was very responsive. She provided me with the perfect amount of options. Jade was patient and willing to take the time to show me the products and assisted with testing them on my skin. It was a great that I was able to test the products prior to purchasing them as many stores don't offer that luxury. Jade also provided me with knowledge as to what the best way is to use products, how long the mask should stay on your skin, what the ingredients are, what the ingredients will do for you, etc. I wouldn't consider Jade pushy by any means. Push salespeople are hard for me to deal with because I don't tolerate it. As for the products, everything I tried was remarkable and seemed to make my skin feel as if it was renewed. I had gone to this store for one gift purchase. I ended up purchasing 2 gifts, and the Buffy bar and a lip scrub for me. The buffy bar is the fastest, easiest and most moisturizing product I have found to date. It's an incredible product that could be life changing lol. It's similar to using soap in the shower but you don't rinse it off. Instead, after you shower with your skin wet, rub the bar on your body then towel dry. Your skin feels soft and moisturized. It does not leave a greasy residue-type feeling like many other moisturizing products do. The lip scrub is wonderful. You wet your lips with your tongue, rub the scrub into your lips then lick it off. I thought this was a bit odd at first but in trying it, my chapped lips from the cold weather lately were instantly smooth and moisturized. They have many different flavors such as popcorn, mint, bubblegum, and sweet lips. I purchased sweet lips which has a chocolaty flavor...yummy!! Jade sent me home with a sample of the I Love Juicy shampoo, and the Mask of Magnaminty. I don't love the scent of the shampoo, I only like it. What I love about it is that you only use very little so you really get your money's worth. Also, it suds quite nicely and after you rinse it your hair feels squeaky clean. The Mask of Magnaminty changed my skin after one use. My skin is glowing, my pores have shrunk, and it looks healthier and cleaner. I'm sold from those testers so I'll be making my way back to Lush to purchase them for sure. If you're a newbie or are familiar with Lush products, you'll gain the knowledge you need to have your hair and skin looking youthful. Be sure to ask for Jade L cause she's great fun!! read more

I came in this afternoon wanting to spoil myself after a long week. My mom & my son came into Lush with me today and we all had a good experience. We were greeted upon entry which is appreciated! They were busy (it's a weekend) but multiple saleswomen made sure I found what I was looking for. Caroline (sorry if I misspelled your name!!) was wonderful! She helped me pick out a great bubble bar which is seriously my favorite right now. I got "Grandma Takes a Bath" and it's so good!!! I also showed Caroline my hands which have a bit of psoriasis to see if they had anything that would help. She was knowledgeable and kind. She recommended two fantastic products that actually seem to be helping with the irritated skin. She let me try the product out and sent me home with a sample. I'll be back soon to pick some up. The cashier was very nice, the employees are sweet and really know their stuff! Definitely recommend, this is my new pamper space! read more

This is such a wonderful LUSH shop with some of the best staff that I've ever met! In particular, Christian, Erica, and Maria are so helpful, genuine, and kind, and Artin (one of the managers) is one of the sweetest people you could possibly encounter. I always smile when I see them! You can tell that the employees aren't trying to push sales yet truly care about answering any questions that you might have. I've been going to this shop for about a year, and each experience has been very pleasant. Though I also enjoy supporting my local LUSH shop near home, I make it a point to drive the extra distance and visit this location periodically because of the especially friendly staff! read more

Stopped by Lush to replenish my favorite purple shampoo bar for carry-on travel (take that, TSA) -- but alas, I couldn't find it. Angie saw me searching the shelf and stepped up to assist. She kindly explained that my scent had been discontinued, then offered to help me find a new bar. I had no idea where to start, so she patiently walked me through all the various features and moisturizers. She knew her stuff! Together we found a new shampoo that would work well for me. She also offered me a sample and introduced me to a new shower product. I had just been walking through other mall stores, purposefully avoiding typical sales people who were pushy, syrupy sweet, or completely clueless about customer service (ahem, Macy's Glendale). Angie was the opposite -- kind, patient, knowledgable, and refreshingly genuine. In fact, everyone working at that store had a smile on their face and a willingness to assist. I was even bid goodbye on my way out by Ricky, who cheerfully thanked me for coming in. 5 stars to Lush Glendale and especially Angie for providing the lost art of authentic customer service. I always go to go to pasadena lush, but last weekend went to Glendale lush. This one have lots of reviews about workers being mean n ignorant, so I worried about walking in because I always ask lot of stuff to the ladies at the shop. Altho the cashier ppl rushed a bit , it didn't feel that I'm not treated well. The associates here weren't helpful at all, I was shopping with my friend and my husband and no one bothered to tell us hello or help us look for any products (we were both new to lush) im sorry to say it but I felt like it was prejudice. There was a group of white girls that were attended to each and every need but me and my friend didn't get a hello, aside from that the cashier asked to see my ID for my DEBIT card, I had it but it felt very rude. First off I have to say the staff was super helpful. I have a baby boy and we use the robots in his bath before he goes to bed and he loves them. Today the staff introduced me to sleepy lotion I put a little on him and he was calm after his bath. Life saver for sure!! read more

First time at this location and I can say everyone is super helpful and they educated me about everything I was interested in purchasing. The two people I would like to recognize is Addy and Miriam. They were super sweet and knew their products. They tried on different products on me from cleansing to moisturizing. I didn't feel rushed into buying anything but comfortable enough to ask questions. They also gave me samples of other products to take home and try out. I'm fairly new to LUSH! I love their products. I've only been to two locations and this one was by far the best one only because NICOLE helped me and my sister out tremendously! She is very knowledgeable and helpful. She gave us honest opinions as well as a ton of information on the different products and how they would compare to our type of skin. I just bought a few products from here but haven't tried them yet. This was my first time here and I had an amazing experience. This review is for Natalie (I hope I spelled her name right). She was so kind and patient. She took her time and showed me a few products that were right for my skin type. She was definitely knowledgable and far from pushy (such a nice surprise). First time ever going to a LUSH store. My roommate sold me on most of their products and we saw a bunch of examples of how their stuff works online. She invited me to go to their free foot massage event, so earlier today we checked it out. When you walk in, it's like being in a candy store. So many colors and scents in the air, but not as heavy as you would expect from say, a perfume or candy store. It's a nice aroma. A very friendly staff of ladies greeted us. Though I didn't exactly get a foot massage.......more like a foot wash and scrubbing. I live for foot massages (it's the reason I went to the store in the first place), so I was kind of discouraged when my roommate's foot massage (which looked heavenly) went on for a long time, but mine was relatively short. Their products are VERY pricey, so I only bought one thing (I wasn't expecting to buy anything, but they sold me on the Buffy soap) since it was my first time there. Their products are high quality stuff and last for a while, so there is a good value in what you buy here. However, the staff is 'politely' pushy with their sales and it's hard to say no. You can try samples of almost everything and they caress and lather your hands. I felt like my experience here could have been better if I were to spend, say $30 more of product......since I guess most retail stores have standards for customer sale records. No one mentioned to me that you could get samples of anything in the store! I found out later after we went to the food court and my roommate pulled out some little sample caps of lotions. I would have loved to take home some small samples of that avacado scrub or lemony stuff and show my friends...oh well. read more

This review is for Miri, and her wonderful customer service. (RICKY I CALLED YOU EARLIER TODAY & HERE IS MY REVIEW! :D) Ok, so I had only heard about LUSH through YouTube Beauty Gurus & thought LUSH was only available in New York. I came to Glendale Galleria with my boyfriend with the intention of coming to shop for school clothes. The second I saw the LUSH store I was soooo excited! I immediately went in and was greeted by Miri, who I had told I knew absolutely nothing about LUSH & I had just heard of it. She completely dropped everything & introduced me to the wonderful world of LUSH. I don't use makeup, skin care, or hair care that tests on animals (IM A HUGE ANIMAL ADVOCATE) & when she let me know not only did they NOT test on animals, but also had a campaign against it AND almost all the products were VEGAN, oh yeah I knew I would love LUSH. She introduced me to bath bombs, even took the time to show me how they work in the water and introduced me to all the "shower" products a girl needs. (There's different products for a "bath" & a "shower person"). She then continued on to skin care & showed me amazing cleamsers & masks for my oily rosascea skin. She did a whole treatment on my arms to show me just how well they work. She then continued to show me masks for my skin & even hair care for my dry, irritated scalp. (I tease my hair). She literally started from the bath bombs, which are on the left side of the store & made her way all around to the hair care which is on the right side of the store. She took her time with me to give me a 45 minute consultation & show me exactly what LUSH is about. At the end she gave me a consultation card & wrote down everything she recommended for my type of skin/hair and told me to please come again & it was a pleasure for her to show me LUSH. She was completely sweet & patient the WHOLE time. Also very, very knowledgable about the products & basically what LUSH stands for & what the company is all about. I am now a LUSH junkie & cannot wait to go back in the next week or two and get A BUNCH of LUSH goodies! I just want to say THANK YOU MIRI FOR TAKING THE TIME TO EXPLAIN TO ME ALL ABOUT LUSH AND BEING SO PATIENT & SO SWEET TO ME! I can't wait to go back in these next 2 weeks to get my LUSH goodies!
