I just wanted to start by saying my salesman and the manager of the finance department was amazing! They listened to me about what I wanted and got me into my dream car! A little backstory- I bought a 2025 jeep compass limited from them. Not even three days after getting it some lights were appearing on my dash and saying it needed to be service. Not a big deal right?? Wrong! After taking my jeep to Jeep dealership they told me something was wrong with my car and it needed to go in the shop immediately (my car was deemed unsafe due to some codes that were popping up). I called my sales person to tell him my car is in the shop and the jeep dealership has no cars to rent out to me. They told me they couldn't help me due to the fact is in not a Honda car so they can't give me a rental. My Sales person did everything he could to help me out with this situation which I appreciate but it was unacceptable for them to sit back and not help me out! The car was deemed unsafe I couldn't drive it. Finally Jeep gave me my car back this morning but they did say that Honda didn't do any maintenance to the car thar needed to be done so now I have to come up with the money for the services they should've done to the car. read more

My grown daughter, 38, had bought her previous two cars from Luke Riley Honda, so her third trip there 12/15/25 made her a loyal customer, but yesterday she asked us, her Mother and Father, to go with her for support. She had learned of their dishonesty the day before. Unfortunately, as a single Mother of two teenagers, she has limited time to do many things. And she fell in love with a used white SUV with low mileage there. #1) First, on 12/15, the salesman told her that she could Not seek other financing--that she had to finance with them. She knew this was untrue. She told the salesman that was not true, however, if he would put that in writing in their letterhead she would believe it. She and I arrived the next day to finalize the deal. #2) Next, when we arrived with the financing from her credit union set, they brought out the sales price breakdown and the numbers had changed and were higher than yesterday's. They had added an additional $900 for a custom paint job she had not requested, and which was new information for her. They said it was non-negotiable. No, she was not told about it previously. I explained that was not an honest way to do business. He did not care, saying the salesman had shared that with her yesterday. He had not. I advised Claire to leave, but she had fallen in love with the SUV and didn't want to lose the t8me she'd already invested in it. #3) Later, the salesman requested she complete and sign a credit application; she declined. She provided them her driver's license and said they had all the information they needed on that. She did not give them her ssn and did not want them to run her credit. Her financing was set already and she came with a purchase order from her credit union. That should be sufficient. The salesman brought over the manager and we argued with him also. They did drop the credit application requirement, but not the additional upcharge if $900. Again, I advised her we should leave, but she declined. It's certain that she will not return to this dealer again nor will we either. Also, we can share about their dishonesty from personal experience. Finally, after a considerable wait we were ushered into the Sales Finance Manager's office. She said that she rolled the $900 into the sales price for her. We finalized her car deal and left, never to return. In our opinion, Luke Riley Honda does Not treat its customers with honesty or professionalism. read more

~ Fantastic service by Lute Riley Honda, Richardson, Texas. Greeted by a smile, first early morning appointment, Eric, was pleasant and explained the 7-point inspection process. Eric then lead me to the customer waiting area which had 4 tv's, plenty of comfortable seating, and a coffee machine which allows you to select plain, cappuccino, and Latte selections to customize your beverage. There were tea selections to steep if not a coffee drinker. :-) Eric notified me when service was complete and luckily there were no service repair problems found. Estimate given of 1 - 1 1/2 hours for complete inspection, however I was driving away in exactly 1 hour. Happy customer and will return. read more

On Saturday, May 16, I was driving to Plano from Austin in my 2010 V6 six-speed Accord Coupe when a serious engine issue arose. I had the car towed to Lute Riley for diagnosis and repair. I was assisted by Kyle in the service department, and feel very fortunate to get him as my advisor. The repair cost was extensive, and all I can say is that Kyle worked with me to make a bad situation very tolerable. He was extremely fair and understanding. I picked up the car a bit ago, and couldn't be more thankful to Kyle and the folks at Lute Riley. Even though I had never purchased a car from them, they treated me like a loyal customer. Be aware that the sales team at this dealership will force/pressure/insist it has to be that you buy their "required" add-on package(s) what were not advertised in the car price when you buy a used car. This practice is actually illegal and some area dealerships are being sued by the Federal Trade Commission for the same stunts. We are happy with the car we finally ended up buying but the process drug out for way too long due to the sales guy insisting that he could not sell us the car without their extra packages. We said take out the packages and adjust the sale price if you have to but we ended up only being able to remove one of the packages that were "required". You can read about this in the Dallas News and you should definitely insist on NOT paying for these packages if you don't want them. read more

I wouldn't recommend purchasing vehicle at this dealership. They have zero skills in customer care and communication. I had absolute worst car buying experience( this is my 5th car) In December 2024 I found this car online and reached out through their website to make an appointment to test drive. I was able to get an appointment for same day evening. This location is 30 miles from home, so I made a drive with my family ( SO and 2 kids) on a weekday evening. Red flags start popping from here. Before I could even get to reception and get help, Joe met me by my car and walked me inside. We were four of us and did not even bother to offer us extra chairs. He then looked up and told us that car is not ready to test drive( flag1) which they could have told us when we made appointment for test drive. He then proceeds to tell me if I pay 500$ non refundable deposit only then they can hold the car for me if not they will sell it if some other buyer comes in. He even got his manager to talk me into it. I told him you did not earn my trust when you did not bother about wasting my time. I left after telling them I would come back and buy as soon as vehicle is ready to test drive and CPO is done. 5 days after initial experience, Joe informed me that the car is ready. We went back and again same customer skills where they wouldnt even bother to offer us extra chairs. On Dec 10, We test drove and liked the car and decided to purchase it. The sale process took forever and they add Perma plate and anti theft which you did not ask for and they cannot remove them. Things started to go downhill from here as if they weren't downhill already. We noticed that we did not receive paper work for perma plate and anti theft. It took almost 3-4 weeks for me to receive that document after repeated text with Joe. Red flag 2 : Jan third week, I still did not receive the License plate and the title. Reached out to Joe and he then gives automated message it takes 5-8 weeks. Feb 2nd : Still did not receive the title or license plate. I called their customer care and was able to get hold a only sensible and helpful person(Rosana) in this dealership. I dont know what she did but after a day she tells me my license plate is ready. I went and picked it up very next day. When asked about the title she asked me to reach out to TxDMV Red flag 3: I gave them benefit of doubt and waited on title but decided to reach out to TX DMV on Feb 13. They have mentioned that my title is on the way and should receive in couple of days. When I asked customer rep on TX DMV they said they only received paperwork on Feb 2nd( the date I called them) So for almost 2 months someone was sitting on their hands and not moving paperwork. I went to Lute Riley yesterday for my final free oil change, Lute Riley checked my air filters (cabin and engine filters) and they told me that they needed to be replaced. For the convenience, I had them replaced, That was a big mistake as I later found that Honda charged me Three times the amount Walmart charges for the same premium filters. I expected to pay a little more for the convenience but to be charged 3X more is unbelievable. Don't make the same mistake that I did. read more

There is an issue with my vehicle and their response was less than helpful. This is my third strike with Lute Riley and if I have to walk home from Rusty Wallace, I will. Actually, they have guaranteed me a ride home. The issue with my vehicle is concerning my clutch and after speaking with the service representative at Lute Riley little was offered as far as help. After speaking with Honda corporate, I am getting some relief and I am certain that Rusty Wallace will come through. Convenience is not always the best way to go. I've learned my lesson. read more

BUYER BEWARE: Check your own tire pressure and fluids - BECAUSE THEY DON'T! I came here for an oil change and they first had a "Tire Specialist" inspect the tread and wear on each tire. Next, they give me a print out saying each tire is at 33psi and "green." I go out there and immediately notice one tire looks flat. I feel it and guess what, it feels flat too! So i get out my own guage and sure enough they didnt check the tire pressure at all. Worst part was the service agent could not care less, very apathetic and acted as if this happens all the time. On top of that i was overcharged $4.18. I will never return. Losers. read more

I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2024 Honda Pilot from Lute Riley Honda with only ~2,600 miles on it. Shortly after purchase, the vehicle began experiencing repeated and serious driveability issues; sudden loss of power, jerking, and complete failure to accelerate, sometimes in intersections with my children in the vehicle. These weren't minor glitches. They were dangerous. Over the following months, I brought the car in for service at a local Honda dealer more than nine times. Despite major component replacements (throttle body, spool valve, PCM), the problem kept coming back. Only later did I discover that this issue had been documented by the previous owner before I bought it; a fact I was never informed of. Lute Riley had attempted 3 prior repairs which failed, starting when the vehicle had only 300 miles. The dealership certified this vehicle as if it had no underlying concerns. They SAID NOTHING about the prior issues, did not disclose and LIED about the vehicles status. I trusted the process, but instead, I ended up with a certified lemon. I'm now in arbitration, asking Honda to repurchase the vehicle. I urge this dealership to take greater care in disclosing known issues and to ensure the integrity of their Certified Pre-Owned program. I hope no one else has to go through what I have. When I arrived I was told that the CX-5 was in the shop. It would have been nice to know before I drove an hour. I was told the suspension needed to be fixed, and when I asked for more info, I was told it was a strut. When we got to where the car was, I was then told it was actually the control arm. I wasn't happy with the $950 in mandatory add-ons. The car was already at the top of the budget we set for ourselves. While I appreciate the effort to fix the control arm, overall I was not impressed with the dealership. I had been communicating several times throughout the day about the car and was not told it needed to be repaired. Had I known that, I would not have come to test drive it. I was very disappointed by the lack of informative communication paired with the feeling of being blindsided by a mandatory increase of $950. read more

I took my car in for a diagnostic and they ran into my bumper. At first they said they were going to replace it but ended up just painting it instead. Due to the accident, there was a tear and several stress fractures that they refused to acknowledge was their fault. The GM didn't even have the balls to speak with me himself. When my wife had her 2024 CRV in for recall work she asked the tech to check the battery because we had to jump start it just about every time we tried to use the car. We didn't drive the car for awhile and then next time I tried to drive it I again needed to jump start it. I used my scan tool the next day and it indicates 14 volts to the ECM but that the battery is bad. The tech apparently did nothing to check the battery or they would have gotten the same indication that I did. Super professional. read more

Any time I bring my car here for an inspection or oil change, they magically find at least 5 services that my car is "in need of immediate attention". Mind you, my car has less than 40,000 miles on it. Literally every time, if I bought into these up sales, I would walk away every time at least $600 poorer. No thanks! I was offered 2 back tire replacements for around $550 that I can get for $400 at discount tire for the exact same tire. A $236 fuel induction service, an alignment, a tire rotation, a new air filter. You name it, apparently my car needs it. I would like to just be able to bring my car in and get the service I requested without all of these unnecessary up sale antics. Maybe if my car was old and had a boat load of miles, I would buy it, but it doesn't. Come on, guys. Really?! Also, I had taken my car there at the end of last year and was offered to have my wheels rotated. A few days later I realized that they forgot to put the locking lug nut back on my wheel. I called up there to ask if they could find it in their shop. It was nowhere to be found. Didn't offer to give me another locking lug nut, just another regular one so now one of my wheels doesn't have the lock on. This ticks me off because my car came in there with a locking nut. I would give them one star but they did have a relatively nice used car inventory. Recently bought a 2016 ford f250 from these guys. While the truck is nice the hidden fees are ridiculous. Around 4 grand above the asking price. 1 month and 2000 miles into my ownership, my fuel pump went out all the way in Colorado. I was basically stranded, the dealership was no help and we were forced to spend over $1200 in repairs that we would not get back due to their warranty. A few weeks later I changed the oil and found that none of the filters had been changed. The air filter was burnt and should have been changed months ago. And the coolant which has to be flushed every few years was disgusting. Instead of charging over $2000 for a "paint protection warranty" and adding it and other ridiculous fees to the asking price, why don't you make sure the vehicles are mechanically sound and up to date on filters and fluids. I understand that parts fail, but they shouldn't while there are still paper plates on the truck, and if that's the case the dealership should be at least a little more helpful than they were. Worst and I mean worst dealership I have ever purchased a vehicle from ( I have purchased over 20 vehicles). My salesman (Chuck) lied to me just to sale a vehicle. I purchased a used truck and there was only 1 key and he told me that the other key is coming the original owner forgot to drop it off but he would reach out and get the key asap also left me under a 1/4 tank of fuel. TLDR. Don't buy a car from Lute Riley Honda. They sell cars with defective tires that explode and refuse to take responsibility for selling defective merchandise. These exploding tires put me in three separate life threatening situations. I intend to take them to court for endangering my life by selling defective tires. I leased a brand new 2023 Honda Civic in late January 2023. Beginning just before Thanksgiving, the brand new tires with less than 10k miles began to blow out . They didn't just go flat, they exploded. The first one exploded on my way home from work in the left lane of the George Bush and was almost hit by traffic twice as I had to move to the far right lane on the rim. About a week later, it happened again during a heavy downpour and storm. I waited for over 3 hours for a tow and was nearly struck twice in the blinding storm. Once I got to the tire shop, my rims were ruined and I had to replace them. I didn't want to engage with Lute Riley, because of holiday plans and the hassle I assumed would it would entail. Then, on my way to San Antonio for Thanksgiving, the third tire exploded. Once my tow truck got me to the tire shop, I had them remove the last remaining Firestone tire and went about my business until after the Holidays. When I contacted Lute Riley, they did what I, unfortunately, expected. The sales manager said the following: A. I should have bought their "tire insurance" although he was unclear if it covered exploding tires B. They don't stand behind the tires they sell on their cars so I have to call Firestone So buy your Honda elsewhere. Once you sign on the dotted line, you are on your own.
