Was going for a show in Blue Note a couple blocks away and was looking for a place to eat and my Thai friend highly recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. Acknowledged by Michelin for real good reason, everything we ordered was excellent and service was quick and very friendly. The server even moved my girlfriend and I to a bigger table because we ordered so much. We got a few things - Pork barbecue skewer which was actually my favorite, generous serving, very tender and tasty meat, and the sauce just elevates the dish. - Pad See Ew with Crispy pork, (my regular gauging dish for thai restaurants) comparing to other thai places it's still great but comparing to other dishes in the restaurant I would pass on this one when I eat here. - Green Curry with Chicken, the flavor was good but my girlfriend doesn't like it spicy so I really can't give a full review. - Crying Tiger (steak), also great dish very tender and flavor full - also got a spicy minced pork dish which gives a flavorful kick Just be prepared in dealing with LA driving here, there is parking in the plaza but I can still see it as a challenge to some. We were so excited to check out Luv2eat Thai Bistro after all the rave reviews & hype, especially for their Hat Yai fried chicken. Parking lot is a nightmare even at 4pm but is expected in small strip mall in the Hollywood neighborhood. Have lots of patience!! Luckily there were a few spots that were open. We were seated immediately & our waitress gave us our waters. We ordered, the Hat Yai chicken (dark meat drums & thighs) & Kua Gling added stink beans & side of small rice (pretty big portion). The Hat Yai chicken was a big let down so disappointed. The crispiness (little to no batter) is there but very underwhelming under seasoned & a bit over fried kinda mangled slits throughout. It comes with a chili dipping sauce which is overly sweet, tastes like the Thai sweet bottled sauce you find at the grocery store (not a fan) & a side of glutinous sweet sticky rice. We gave this 2.5 stars. Now the Star, the Kua Gling was fantastically flavorful!! A punch in the face with some aromatic herbs, the lemongrass, turmeric, makrut lime leaf & the shrimp paste for a little saltiness. Perfection!! Explosion in your mouth. Very very good! The stink beans has an umami flavor almost shiitake like taste. Highly recommend seeing not a lot of Thai restaurants serve this dish. Gave this 4 stars. read more

I didn't realize until I got here that this Thai restaurant had been featured a handful of times on the Michelin guide. My group and I ordered a handful of items. Staying down the street so decided to order in DoorDash from here. Wait-delivery time was reasonable and it was delivered by the robot. Order was carefully package especially the thum/papaya container. It came enclosed in a bag in case of spillages. Papaya salad, bbq pork sticks, and sticky rice will always be one of the best combos. We ordered the papaya medium and it's pretty close to medium. Came with a lot of the small dried shrimps ans flavor was nice. Fresh, crunchy, with the little touch of sourness that you would want in your papaya salad. The bbq pork sticks were stacked with sweet umami pork slices. When we arrived, we were seated pretty quickly and food came out quickly. The food was delicious, well seasoned, and large proportions. You definitely order a few dishes for your party and eat them as shareables. Just a fair warning, the tables are placed very close together. If there's another party sitting down, it's hard to get in out of the booth seating. I'm on the smaller size and I had a hard time getting in and out. Between 3 and 4 stars for me - I ordered the drunken noodles for delivery and they were around $18 with certain proteins (eg chicken, pork) included in the price. I ordered it "Very Spicy" which was the hottest option they had on the menu. I was overall impressed with the portion size and quality of the dish, but the spiciness was a joke - I would rate it between a mild and a medium. In my opinion, not respecting/following spice level preference when it comes to Thai food automatically docks a star regardless of anything else. A bummer because the noodles were cooked well and had a nice flavor. The menu is large and the place is reasonably priced, so I would consider ordering again with instructions to make it extremely spicy. There are just so many Thai places in this area that are rated highly so the competition is tough. Overall I Luv2eat Thai, but I'm not sure I love Luv2eat. read more

The restaurant is located in a strip mall in Hollywood and was extremely busy when we arrived, though the wait wasn't too bad. We ended up sitting outside, which wasn't ideal since there were quite a few homeless people lingering nearby. What we ordered: -Blue crab curry (7/10): good curry flavor, but barely any crab meat. Comes with noodles and other fixings on the side. -Hat Yai fried chicken (6/10): flavorful chicken, way too many dried garlic bits on top. Didn't enjoy the sticky rice. -Drunken noodles (5/10): unfortunately pretty bland and not something I'd order again. -Thai tea (9/10): Highlight of the meal. The service is great, staffs are nice n fast, you got to try their signature menu, serves Southern Thai cuisines which is rare in LA. Portions are huge and price is right. If you are not sure what to get, try their signature crab curry. Sweet spicy coconut curry served with noodles and veggies, so creamy yet refreshing. Pad See Yew is great too with right amount of proteins and sauces. Their grilled pork skewers is out of this world too. It goes well with the curry too. Among some of the best Thai restaurants I've tried in LA! My friend, her boyfriend and I visited on a late Saturday afternoon and our experience here was great! We split the following dishes: - Papaya Salad: Crisp and crunchy. Full of fresh papaya and veggies. I also liked the little shrimps in it. Paired well with all of our heavier dishes. - Crab Curry: Creamy and flavorful grab curry. Also a good amount of crab meat. I liked how the shell was soft so it was easy to break and suck out the meat. It came with rice noodles and veggies which was interesting. However, I liked it better eating it with rice. - Moo Ping: The largest and meatiest meat skewers I've ever had. Super meaty, juicy, and flavorful. It gives Filipino BBQ a run for its money haha. Great pricing for such large chunks of meat. Only delta was there was a lot of fat chunks which wasn't my most favorite. This place is popular so it gets pretty full, so I would plan ahead to include some wait time. There's a parking lot in front, but it can get filled. The service was also pretty good. Each time has only been for take out. I'd love to dine in but two things keep me away -- the clutter (visible overstocked containers; cleaning supplies e.g. mop, etc) on the floor of the restaurant). The other is the space not only is it cramped but the air doesn't circulate very well. I don't believe that a 2 or 3 star review merits Luv2 eat's food prep. One of my fave thai restaurants is Manaao in Tustin and Luv2eat's flavors are very close to Manaao. I just wish the food can be spicier. I ordered spicy and it was pretty mild. I've only managed to try the crab curry and crab fried rice. Will be back to try more dishes! Small place so come early or you'll end up waiting. Some of the best thai food I've had in LA. They give SO much delicious food and it's all outstanding. We overordered (duh) and had enough for multiple meals of leftovers. The moo ping is a must try. That was our top dish, and neither of us even like pork all that much. It was smoky, savory, sweet, and full of umami goodness. The sauce with it is so crazy good we got another to go. The crab curry was another standout. We got it without the shell (to save some mess, idk if it makes a difference?) and extra crab (worth it.) Love that it was served with rice noodles, veg, egg, and pickled onions. I inhaled most of the leftovers, much to my boyfriend's chagrin. We got the drunken noodles with crispy chicken, just because we wanted to try their crispy chicken with something noodley. This was the first thing that came out, incidentally, and we were already losing our minds over how good it was, and we had no idea that we were about to have our minds blown. The kua gling (with ground chicken) was spicy and savory and the stink beans we added on there had such an interesting earthy, almost shiitake mushroomy taste to it and really added to the dish. The crab fried rice was excellent too. Not much to go wrong with there. We came at 4:45 on a rainy Monday and got seated immediately, though it filled up VERY quickly after we got there and wasn't really empty to begin with. Plan for that! The restaurant is bustling and busy with lots of tao top tables and delicious food all around. Definitely come here. It's fun and cute, especially to bring a friend or date. This was too good. The place was full on a Friday evening, but managed to get the last outdoor table with no wait. Sprung for the egg rolls on a whim and was so glad we did. These were super crispy and a bit flaky on the outside and the inside was filled with steaming hot vegetables. Surprisingly super flavorful, some of the best egg rolls I've had actually. The yellow curry was amazing. It had lots of tofu and a few chunks of potato (as a potato lover would've liked more). Ordered a side of rice which was definitely the move since I was able to mix the remaining curry broth with it. Not sure I'd order it again, but I'm glad I tried it. For appetizers, we got the moo ping, and this was a standout. Super tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Our table ordered a mix of dishes: pad see ew with crispy chicken/beef, boat noodles (kind of like a richer, slightly spicy pho), and spicy crabmeat pad thai. I had the crabmeat pad thai and really enjoyed it. The portion was generous, and the crab added a nice depth that made it feel a bit more elevated than your standard pad thai. Everybody always says, "let's go get Thai food," and honestly--I'm usually not excited about it. I live in Thai Town, I've had plenty of Thai food, and I'm just picky. I don't love biting into surprise herbs, and textures can throw me off fast. That said, this place is doing things right. First off, the quality of the ingredients is undeniable. The meats are clearly good cuts and well-prepared across the board. We ordered a mix of dishes, and while everything tasted solid, the fried chicken was the one miss for me. Flavor was there, but it was drier than expected--especially compared to even decent grocery store fried chicken. Not bad, just disappointing given how good the rest of the food is. The curry noodle dish was rich and comforting, and the grilled pork skewers were exactly what you want--sweet, savory, and nicely charred. Nothing felt careless or rushed in the cooking. Inside, the place is packed, which tells you a lot. That said, the area toward the back near the bathrooms had a weird smell that's hard to ignore once you notice it. Not deal-breaking, but worth mentioning. I went with a friend who eats Thai food constantly--Los Feliz rotation, knows his spots--and he loved it. Like, "luvd it." Just across the freeway is Luv2eat Thai Bistro, where Chefs Noree Pla and Fern Kaewtathip have an expansive menu of both familiar Thai-American dishes and traditional Phuket classics. The restaurant is wildly popular, and it has even earned recognition from the Michelin Guide. Luv2eat shares an unassuming Sunset strip mall with a Pizza Hut and 7-Eleven. Enter into the deafening roar of chatter and the mouthwatering aroma of oil and spices. Wooden tables and black metal chairs are nearly stacked on top of one another within the duplex unit. Shelves and counter space are cluttered with nondescript cardboard boxes, Thai cultural knick-knacks, and yet-to-be-claimed takeout bags. The slate gray walls are minimally decorated with faux-exposed brick and hanging houseplants. My party of 3 arrived for Friday dinner, and we faced only a minimal wait despite the packed house. We decided to go family-style across some of the most popular dishes. I was most impressed by the Phuket Style Crab Curry Kanomjean. The portion of shredded crab was beyond generous, and I ended up putting the thick, coconut-forward broth on nearly everything else. The accompanying plate of toppings was more head-scratching than welcome -- I ended up dipping or dolloping the curry, rather than treating it as a soup. The Kua Gling, meanwhile, was an unassuming hit, pairing ground beef with an intensely flavorful turmeric curry. That being said, the result felt more like a component than a full dish. The Shrimp Pad Thai was impressively flavorful and could easily feed two people, even though the protein was remarkably skimpy. Finally, the Hat Yai Fried Chicken was excellently crispy but otherwise underdressed and underseasoned; the ramiken of no-better-than-standard Thai chili sauce felt laughably small. Friendly service efficiently churned through the hefty weekend dinner crowd. Our bill for 3 ran over $130 (after tax and tip), an eyebrow-raising total for a seemingly casual Thai restaurant. Overall, I was impressed by multiple components across dishes, but the resulting meal did not feel cohesive. As such, I don't see myself returning to Luv2eat anytime soon -- unless I ever develop a wicked hankering for their yellow curry. read more

This is one of my go-to Thai restaurants in LA. I love so many of their dishes but I really get so much satisfaction from Chef Fern's fried chicken with sticky rice. It's soooo crispy and flavorful and the sauce on the side adds gooey, salty, and sweet flavors. The rice that comes with the dishes is also PERFECT; sticky + chewy. Their blue crab curry is also well worth the big price tag. It's a special dish I don't order every time, it when I do it really is a treat. The inside of the restaurant has reasonable space -- I've never had to wait for than a few minutes for a table or I've been seated immediately.
