Seems to have some repeating customers that came for takeout & their team looked somewhat busy with takeouts while managing dine in customers. The quality of the food is questionable - perhaps what we got just isn't good option on the menu or representative of them. Orders * Happy ribs- 1/5 - fried pork did not taste good.. I was expecting some more substance but felt like it was under seasoned and over fried. The rice became drier and more difficult to scoop for a good bite. Felt like it was old rice that was reheated then threw into a Thai looking basket. * Happy chicken- 2/5 - this had more flavor and seasoning than the pork, it was fried a bit too much in certain places so overall taste wise, it didn't make the experience any better. Rice also wasn't that great, dry & got hard. * Thai tea - 3/5- this is on the much sweeter side so if it isn't up your alley I wouldn't go for it. If you are lactose intolerant, I recommend you take a tablet before you drink this. * Ice coffee - 3/5 - something was off about the one that was made, just didn't taste good. Seating? Can accommodate large groups & small groups. Seems great for small family, and the casual get together and meet ups. Restroom? This food was really nice. Started with the pork belly. It had a light flavor; It was not dry, but I personally prefer more juicy pork belly. The crisp on it was very nice and the sauce that went with it was also very tasty (salty, sweet, fresh). The Green Curry was super tasty. The food inside of the curry was fresh and worked well together. The eggplant was especially soft and soaked up the curry nicely without falling apart. The Roti it came with was so delicious, it was perfectly crispy and was almost like doughy puff pastry but even softer, it was pretty oily thought if you want to look out for that. The French Toast was nice. Kind of a random option for a Thai place and if you are looking for a dessert not too sweet this was perfect. The fry on it was nice and made it have a nice crisp without being too oily. The berries and cream were great complements with it. If you aren't looking for a dessert or to be too stuffed you could go without it though I feel like there are better options and not worth $23 personally. It was definitely a fun item to try. I absolutely love this place. As someone who loves Thai food, I'd come here religiously because I genuinely haven't had better Thai food yet. Take this with a grain of salt since I just moved to LA, but after trying a few spots so far, this one is easily my favorite and I've already come back. The noodles are delicious, the service is perfect, and the prices are fair. Everything just feels RIGHT. It's honestly worth it. The drinks are also great, and as a coffee girl, this place DELIVERS. What a great little restaurant! Came here for brunch on a Saturday morning and it had a a fair amount of people, but not too loud so it's great for a catch up meal. This restaurant is a great combination of Thai food and some American food. I got the Garlic Green Beans and Red Curry. The garlic green beans are flavorful, nice, and crunchy. Very flavorful. The Red Curry was seasoned great and had so much flavor. I wanted to slurp the whole bowl. Of course remember to get Jasmine Rice with the curry. I was able to find some street parking a little ways down, in front of the Ralph's. There was also a little street parking in front of the restaurant, but sparse. The ambiance in here is great. Ms. Dang's Crispy Rice on Fire: crispy fried rice with pork and lemongrass. I thought it was good but the pork was a little too sour for me, I didn't love the dish. Ga Prao Basil & Chili Chicken: Thought this was pretty good but also wasn't blown away. Overall decent meal. I'd want to try other dishes next time, except for maybe the papaya salad. We have been repeating customers here for many years,but we will never return after the appalling treatment we received. We brought our less than 2 year-old child for dinner. He became uncomfortable and screamed for about 30 seconds while I was actively trying to console him. The waiter gave us a visibly annoyed look, and shortly after, a man who appeared to be the manager approached our table. He rudely told us we needed to 'control your baby' and said 'this is not your home.' He then told us to leave and even followed us out, making insulting personal remarks about our parenting. This happened in a nearly empty restaurant. We take our baby out frequently and have never experienced such a complete lack of empathy or professionalism. Avoid this place if you have children; they are completely hostile to families. read more

Delicious and unique Thai food in the West Hollywood area! I visited this Thai restaurant for an early lunch on Sunday. It wasn't too busy so my group got seated right away. Firstly, we all ordered the Vietnamese coffee. It was refreshing, tasty, and gave us the caffeine boost we all needed! It was sweet, but not too sweet. Standard Vietnamese coffee. Next, we ordered a fried tofu appetizer to share. The tofu was fried perfectly and I loved the crispy panko breading. The tofu flavor also worked well and wasn't overpowering. Paired with the sweet chili peanut sauce, it was delicious. For my main meal, I ordered ba mee tom yum with crispy pork belly. I hadn't had this dish before and it was yummy! The soup was the perfect amount of spicy and tangy. It wasn't oily and was warm and refreshing. The noodle and bean sprout ratios were also good, not too much or too little of each. The pork belly was good, it was thick and juicy. My only critique is I wish the pork belly was crispier, but I understand it might be hard to pull that off since it is submerged in soup. Lastly, I tried one of my friend's pork skewers and it was tasty. It was seasoned well, soft, and had a nice charred flavor. It's very similar to the Filipino pork skewers. The service was also great. Our server seemed really happy to serve us. The interior is also nice with a minimalist and aesthetic vibe. Overall, a great experience here. Parking: honestly I just park at Ralph's across but I always take out. Ottus has been our go to destination for Thai food for a year. Same thing over and over and over again. Green curry extra mild with pork belly and pad see eew with pork belly. Maybe I'm getting old but I have absolutely no desire to try anything else because I got two aces that work so well. Every. Single. Time. The noodles is my favorite type, have the perfect texture and deliver balanced sweet and savory flavor. The curry sauce is amazing not too thick and not too thin, mild is a bit too spicy for me but doable. And the pork belly is always chewy and extra crisp, makes me secret saliva like very few other things do as I get to devour through it. The roti that come with the curry is extra buttery and I could feel my heart having to pump harder with every other bite. The portions are more than enough for the two of us and we regularly have some curry left overs but not pad see eew. The price has been great and our order usually comes out at about $60. The other night we have been really thinking about getting Thai from EaHo but just couldn't. That's how good Otus is working for us. read more

Wow! Such a cute place! We came for lunch as we were staying in an Airbnb close enough to walk. The staff was super friendly and efficient! We sat inside and it was getting pretty busy when we left around 12 on a Monday. We shared the vegetable tom ka soup and it was just perfect! It had so many fresh veggies and we asked to make it a little spicier as our server it usually comes medium. The egg rolls were perfection! So light and fresh. I ate the entire plate which is rare for me! My husband got the crispy pork ribs which were also very good! The wine was very cold and delicious as well. Parked in the Ralph's parking lot but was afraid the car would get towed but the employees working at the restaurant were super helpful and said they had a small parking lot in the back with only two spots. Luckily we found a spot and was able to enjoy our meal. We ordered the happy belly to start and the pork was really crispy and tender. Also ordered the Tom yum soup which was spicier than I imagined. Ordered mild spicy and it felt like a medium spicy. Last but not least ordered the crab fried rice. It is real crab meat and the rice was flavorful but a bit oily. Otus has been on my watchlist for a while. My friend and I came on a weekend for dinner and had no trouble getting spots, but it did get busy by 6:30. We shared the happy pork ribs, which were meh. The meat was pretty tough honestly. I got the yellow curry with chicken, which was fine but nothing special. My friend got the pad Thai, which I tried a bit of and liked. My friend noticed this place on the way to my house and thought it looked cute. I agree! I finally got to check it out and found out it was dog friendly. To my surprise they even have a little outside back patio!! It's so cute. I ordered a Thai tea and Kai Jiew which is their Thai Omlette and wow it was super delicious! It was crispy and not super oily like other places and it paired really well with the rice which was cooked perfectly!! Their rice is firm and not soggy. Huge fan of this spot - used to work a few blocks over and my small group of colleagues and I would come here for dinner. Parking is a bit tricky here - they have a small lot which you might have to circle the block to enter. I'd admit, once or twice, I just parked at the corner of Ralph's parking lot and pick up groceries before heading home. It's been a couple of years, but everything remains the same. They recently changed the quality of their ingredients. Two separate orders were terrible over a 2 week span. Both a curry and the pad see ew were almost inedible. Love coming to OTUS Thai. The best in town. First off we live across the street which is how we stumbled upon this little Thai restaurant. From what I can see it gets a lot of business which is always good for smaller businesses. The food is quality and the staff is friendly. I don't usually write reviews but this place never misses. I always get the Crab fried rice which they use real crab and not imitation. And secondly I always get the yellow curry with chicken mild. Both together hit! My wife gets the Ba Mee Tom Yum, which if you ask me kind of reminds me of a Thai ramen vs traditional Japanese ramen. Also fire!! Pictures below!! I actually had this place bookmarked for brunch, but after a sunset hike at Runyon Canyon we were super hungry and ended up deciding on Thai food for dinner. It's a relatively small space so you might have to wait a little bit for a table. There are some tables inside and a couple areas to sit outside in the back. Here's what we ordered: - Lychee red curry: The lychee flavor was relatively subtle but the crispy pork belly was SO crispy that it stayed crispy even though it was sitting in a pool of curry. This was probably some of the most delicious curry I've had. - Street noodles: We wanted to order this because it looked a little different from your typical stir fried Thai noodle dish. The egg noodles had a great texture and the garlic shrimp was exploding with flavor. - Happy chicken: I would highly recommend this dish! The chicken was really juicy and crispy, without having too much breading. This dish paired perfectly with the sticky rice. We were unfortunately too full for dessert but this was probably the best Thai food I've had in LA so far. The waiters were very attentive even though it was really busy. There's a wide variety of unique brunch options and a good selection of sweet vs savory. Between two people, we typically order the It's a Joke, the Khao Kai Jiew, and the plain Roti. The It's a Joke is an excellent vegetarian option and the mushrooms are sooo yummy. It's such a nourishing dish! The Thai style omelette practically melts in your mouth, and the sauce that comes with it is addictive. I'm glad it comes as a rice bowl just to add a bit of extra food. The roti is a guilty pleasure - I've tried the egg and banana/egg options as well, but I think the plain is all that's needed. The condensed milk and flaky crust is the perfect way to end the meal! Absolutely blown away. I was afraid at first that because this place was so cute and the location that the food wouldn't be as good as a hole in the wall in Thai town, but I was so, so wrong. All my fears were quelled once I saw the Thai Select sticker right by the door. Service was great. I came at 6pm on Wednesday and there was only one other table there. By the time I left at 7:30, the entire place was full and packed. Natural wine!! I've never been so happy to have natural wine, especially with Thai food. The ONLY let down I had was the som tum, because I didn't ask for it to be spicy and assumed it would come spicy. However, way bigger portion than I expected for a starter. 3/5 The rambutan ceviche 4/5. Amazing flavor combos and fusion. Only 3 pieces of (quite large) shrimp. Happy ribs 4/5 so good Happy chicken FIVE OUT OF FIVE -- with my first bite the first thing I said was, "Wow, I see why they call it Happy Chicken here instead of hat yai" because it made me so happy.
