My friend and I were having a lovely lunch until a group of at least 10 women wanted to play bridge in the dining room and started to pull three tables to arrange their bridge game around us. It was intrusive. It was inappropriate. I spoke with management. These women typically use the private room every week on Wednesdays, however it was unavailable yesterday and instead of arranging a place for them to gather and play bridge, they came in and did as they pleased around other patrons. It was very poor taste as they were speaking loudly and took over the space. I expressed this to the manager and reluctantly took the gift certificate he offered as an apology but he offered nothing to the woman that was with me. Disappointing read more

Came here on a busy Thursday night, had a wonderful experience. The truffle fries are a staple, cannot go wrong ordering those. The Faroe Island Cedar Planked Salmon was delicious and a pretty good portion size for being able to finish eating at the restaurant without having to take home leftovers. It came with a shaved raw vegetable salad and Meyer lemon vinaigrette, which perfectly complimented the salmon. Looking forward to coming back and trying the drink menu as well. read more

Beautiful ambiance! Dark, cozy, and nice for small groups. Enjoyed a double date with friends where they recommended the burgers. Waiter recommended burgers and steak frites so we went with it. In general, food was very good. Slightly smaller portions that I would expect for the price but it's Gold Coast and probably better for the waistline. That said burger was great! And the Bellevue was two 4oz patties which they still managed to cook medium rare without me asking. Chips were a great choice. I liked those way better than the fries. Now the steak frites does not photo well but my husband was very happy. I thought it was pretty salty but again he was happy and would get again. Our friends are obsessed with the Brussels sprouts which looked great. Loved their crab cakes although the waiter forgot to place the order so that came out after we finished the rest of the food but the waiter removed from the bill without asking. Now that Tavern on Rush is gone this is the MUST visit place. The service is great, the food is delicious, hence why it's always packed. We started off with the tuna taco and Wagyu Pigs. And two martinis. The tacos were amazing, super tasty, crunchy and a good portion. My bf gave the wagyu a 4/5 so it was good but he prefer my tuna tacos. I couldn't resist to get the classic Benedict, no bacon and I was super happy with my choice. Delicious and nutritious, I wish I asked for crispy Hashbrowns but I forgot so that's on me. I'm a bit of a pineapple connoisseur and I could tell right away it was Dole. When the bar was closing I asked for an orange. Not only was that orange easy to peel but it had great flavor. Often times I go into the grocery store and their oranges be dry. That was a fabulous orange. I will be back for more pineapple juice and oranges. I'm a usual fan of LUXBAR, but they dropped the ball on NYE. We made a reso for a group of 7 for their "New Years Experience" (which is a regular reservation with a complimentary glass of bubbles to toast at midnight). We arrive early for our 10:30 PM reservation and check in at the desk. They're very busy as always, which was expected. We were seated maybe 10 mins late but this was no big deal since it was a holiday. We are seated for about 10 mins before a server approaches the table and immediately says "the kitchen is closing are we ready to place orders?" I replied with "thank you, we've been waiting to be greeted" as we still didn't have waters. I think my response turned her off, as she took half of our table's order and walked away. Another server took care of us shortly after (she was very sweet), and took the rest of our food and drink orders. Food came out quick and was great. We winded down and sat to prepare for the ball drop. 11:50, management and servers are pouring glasses of bubbly for the 5 other tables around us (only 6 tables total on this floor). We are ignored completely. Visibly sitting there looking around waiting. We miss the experience at midnight which stunk. I flagged down a food runner and told him we were missed, to be asked "well did you reserve the experience". I said yes and he got me a manager. The manager apologized and said "don't worry I'll pour you the good stuff" and we had our wine around 12:15 AM. Got the check and saw that they added the bottle at full price and discounted it from the bill. Wondering now if we tipped on top of the cost of this bottle. Not a good night for them! read more

Staff was so attentive and courteous though. Shrimp cocktail - overcooked and very rubbery. Shrimp did not have any flavor so I had to dunk it in the cocktail sauce. Oysters - these were okay. Not sure if it was just the lemon but something tasted a bit bitter. New York strip - this was decent. It was made correctly, but it was lacking flavor. Steak frites - overcooked, I always get medium rare but this was more of medium well. The fries were a bit soggy. Overall, for these prices I would expect better quality. My friends and I spent our New Year's Eve at Luxbar and had such a great experience! We arrived a bit early for our table and had a round of martinis upstairs at the bar while we waited. The three bartenders up there took great care of us, getting us drinks and closing our tab quickly so we could head downstairs as soon as our table was ready. Sophie greeted us as we sat down and took great care of us for our entire stay, checking in regularly without making us feel rushed. 2020 restaurant week $24 brunch menu: Mimosa, pancake souffle, chicken and waffles I don't drink alcohol normally so I can't comment on the mimosa. If you see souffle pancake, your mind might instantly want to compare it to Japanese souffle pancakes like mine did. Aesthetics-wise, this pancake souffle is just an eyesore. I attached a photo so how torn up it is around the surface. It even fell apart from the bottom when I cut it into it and picked it up. Texture wasn't like Japanese souffle pancakes but that's fine, the batter was still tasty. Can't say the same for my waffles. Waffles were wonderfully soft but lacking in flavor. Chicken were thin and dry. Very loud inside, minimal space between tables - I know, it's a bar. Service took a while to make its way to me to certain parts of the dining process but it was packed. Overall, underwhelming food experience, at least the brunch part, for a restaurant connected to the Gibsons restaurants.
